I really love the food and the stuff here so nice and gave everyone their food, correct and I will recommend this place to anyone 10/10

I have not been to Roma in a while, when they first opened up they were fantastic, a couple of months in, things began to really open my eyes, and the food was bland. It wasn't until recently that I gave them a try again, their Italian salad back in June was great but because my dinner date at the time had a plate that looked incredibly unhealthy, I shied away from eating Roma's again until.......tonight. We had a staff meeting and someone made the suggestion of picking it up, I wasn't too keen on it so I ordered a diet soda and their Mozzarella cheese sticks, thinking I'd gotten away with not really wanting to eat the food, but willing to try something I thought was 'safe'. When my co-worker called in the order, I was expecting $9.00 and some change, oh no ma'am. Their $6.50 for the five (four burnt, chewy and hard, 2 cheese less of four sticks) mozzarella cheese sticks and $2.00 soda as stated on their website (which btw they've failed to update) turned out to be $11.27. You read that right, I literally paid $11.27 for 4 cheese sticks and a drink that was forgotten that my coworker had to drive back and get, including her own drink. Cheese stick description: four cheese sticks (Not five like their menu suggests). One of four cheese stick the cheese was so hard in the middle, it was tough to chew and was like eating a pizza hut stuffed crust pizza without the rest of the pizza...just the crust...and it had been sitting out for a few days so it was just nearly edible but almost inedible. Cheese stick number 2 and three had no cheese in them as they had pretty much been cooked so hard that the crust around them cracked and made perfect little holes for the cheese to end up in the bottom of the box. Cheese stick 4: the outside coating was so rough that I felt like I was eating captain crunch cereal and gave up. Cheese stick 5: I guess Casper cheese stick didn't show up for work. I have since replaced my Google review and contacted them via Facebook with no resolve just a simple "I'm sorry". Tbh for sub-par quality food, they need to check themselves and their prices...what an awful experience and here I thought I was playing it safe. Nope.. Small update as of 9:14pm, they have updated their menu to reflect appropriate pricing, they have also offered a refund. read more

We really enjoyed this Italian café. The most expensive glass of wine is nine dollars, which was the Pinot Noir and it was very good. My dining partner ate the sausage and pepper sandwich and he really enjoyed it. I had the spinach dip, which was one of the best I have had before, and I have had spinach dip, many, many times. We came for Valentine's Day! We had reservations and Stephanie was our server. She was very attentive and friendly! We ordered a bottle of wine along with spinach dip, shrimp scampi, and the veal. The garlic bread and salads that came with our entrees were fresh. My husbands Veal had the House Roma sauce on it and I will definitely be ordering something with that on it next time. It was very good! My scampi was a large portion and had a very light sauce, I feel like it needed something in the flavor department but overall we enjoyed our evening and meal! read more

If you like Southern Italian cooking, Roma is very good. Eggplant Parmigiana and Veal Parmigiana are excellent. Very generous portions. Ravioli and manicotti are very good. Highly recommend this place - great for families with plenty of parking. The service was fast and friendly, while they don't take reservations the day of the wait was short and you can wait outside for them to call you. 8/22/20 I called to find out if they were open and their requirements for service. I'm so glad that they were open for dine-in service. Our party of three visited at about 11:30a on a Saturday. We were very impressed and pleasantly surprised with everything. The host greeted us immediately and with a smile (behind his mask). I could tell that he was smiling because his eyes atop his mask lit up. While being quite thoughtful, he seated us at a booth that was close to the entryway so that the one elderly person in our group would not need to walk far (Mind you, we did not think to ask for that kind consideration). Once we were seated, we were served by an attentive, friendly and efficient wait staff. She brought our not-overly-sweet iced teas and lemonades and the complimentary garlic bread. The garlic bread was crunchy on the outer edges, but soft and butter-coated in the middle. Each of our entrees came with a wonderfully presented salad. What I really appreciated about the salads was the separation of the different components. The onions were together. The carrots were together. The olives were together. This made it much easier for anyone to give an element of their salad that they did not want to someone else in the group. (Yeah, we share food.) For example, my husband does not like onions and neglected to ask if they came on the salad. So, when the salad came, he just took his spoon and swept the onions, which were all in one place, onto my plate. Then, he commented that it was nice to have the elements separated and toss them together along with the desired amount of dressing. Omg!!! This was the best Italian food I have ever had! I have never had a PERFECT marinara sauce! It was the perfect balance between savory and sweet! The calamari was soooo flavorful and perfectly seasoned! The Chicken Parmesan was a juicy, crispy and perfectly fried. My daughter's ravioli was creamy and perfectly cooked. I don't hand out a lot of five star reviews, but I think this place really earned it. First time here and the service was phenomenal from the start. The breadsticks and Alfredo we're shockingly good, in fact we had to get more bread sticks. Which they brought without us asking. Their chicken Parmesan was lightly breaded and so tender you cut it with a fork. The sauce was obviously homemade, and not too sweet. Overall just a great experience and solid Italian food. I observed the manager going to each and every table after they finished their meal to elicit feedback, which she did when we finished our meal as well. read more

Fantastic food and service! We arrived at 11am (right when they opened) and had our entrees about 8 minutes after we ordered. During our meal, I thought to myself "I need to find our waitress so we can get some more napkins", and as I looked up, she was already almost at our table. Wow. Have I been passing a jewel by because of the outside cover. One day I will learn to stop doing that. Roma Cafe is in an older shipping center that is a little run down. I have been avoiding the place since there is an adult shop next door. The parking lot is ample, but in a bit of disrepair. Access is easy from both eastbound and westbound Airport Blvd. The inside is a bit plain and dark, but we were immediately greeted and sat in a comfortable booth. There are tables and outside seating in addition to the booths. Our drink orders were taken as the menus were being placed in front of us. We ordered Bruschetta and garlic bread with Alfredo sauce as appetizers. The bruschetta was crispy and warm with a cold salad of tomatoes, garlic, onions, olive oil and basil. It was wonderful. The garlic bread came out as crostini slices with a warm, tasty Alfredo sauce. I ordered the spaghetti shamino, a delicious sauce of tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic and jalapeños over spaghetti. I added meatballs, which were moist, tender and tasty. The sauce was thick enough to eat with a fork and I loved it. I love sauces that don't run off the pasta when you eat it. My wife had the shrimp Alfredo. She was pleased with the taste and the amount of shrimp on the plate. The accompanying salads were delicious too. We were too stuffed to try the chocolate chip cannoli that was calling out names. There were enough leftovers for another meal for each of us. Service was excellent. Out drinks were never empty and plates were cleared as we finished them. With another entree ordered to go, total was $60 with tip. We will definitely be back and bring the rest of the family with us. You must absolutely try this place. read more

We have eaten here before and a lot of the same challenges. Stopped of on the way to the airport, plenty of time and we were hungry. It was 4:45 pm on a Friday. Waiting for our server (staff doesn't seem to know who has which tables). Our server Trenton was nice enough and pleasant. Our salads arrived. 10 minutes later here comes the garlic bread. Our salads are gone, the bread is now cold and we've been here for just shy of 25 minutes. Our server told us twice "It won't be long". After 30 minutes I went and spoke with a manager, Cole? Others had arrived after us and had now been given their meals. Several minutes later here comes our meal. My chicken parmigiana was burned and not eatable. No offer to make me another or something else. I was told the manager would be by. 15 minutes later we had to decide that I would have to do with my salad, bread and nibble on my daughters lasagna. It was delicious! I just can not understand why every time the kitchen is terribly behind and now ruined my meal. Again, never heard from the manager and Trenton was doing his best. My meal was comped but I was still hungry. I do not think we will return. read more

The chicken tasted like pre-frozen breaded patties from one of the big box stores. It was also pretty dry. The penne was cooked to my liking and the marinara was just okay. I have only been here two times, but I am sold on giving it five stars! The first time I came here, I got the Parmesan Tilapia De Roma and my wife got the Chicken Parm. The restaurant is smaller than I imagined it would be on the inside, but the food was good and the staff were nice. It has a very local feel - in a good way. The second time I went put it over the top. We went for their Wednesday cheesesteak deal - any cheesesteak, fries, and a drink for $8.99. I wasn't expecting much, but wow! Their cheesesteak is definitely the best in Mobile. The fries were tasty and warm; the cheesesteak is big; meat is good; and they have several different types to order. What else could you want!? Delicious!!' Definitely must try this hidden gem. The food was great and there was something for everyone to enjoy. I had the seafood manicotti with a side salad and garlic bread - it was creamy and cheesy and so good. My husband has the mozzarella sticks and fried calamari and they were equally delicious. Everyone in the restaurant was nice, polite and attentive. We were greeted with smiles and sat quickly even tho w there was a 15 min wait. Our server was very attentive and not pushy or obtrusive. Our food came out fast and hot. The total look of the restaurant could have been a little cozier. Maybe dim the lights, a candle on the table and some string lights to create a more pleasant atmosphere. It was was clean and the bathrooms were tidy as well. The restaurant was slammed with a spirit night fundraiser for a local school, and we were SO IMPRESSED by the staff, from the person who greeted us to the servers who helped us, it was a five star experience.
