On Tuesday June 25th '24 we went to Roma Cafe with two guests from Phoenix. Roma has been our go to Italian restaurant for several years and we have never been disappointed. My wife ordered Fettuccine Alfredo, one of her favorites. Unfortunately, when it arrived, the Alfredo was very soupy. We complained about it to the server, but she was relatively new and didn't know the sauce was supposed to be very thick. She checked and came back to tell us that's the way it should be. We asked if we could get some additional noodles to help in eating it without a spoon. We were informed that extra noodles would cost $6.00!! We spoke to the manager, and he reiterated what we had been told. We asked to have the dish removed from the bill or at least discount it. Simple Answer NO WE CAN'T DO THAT. We called the next day and asked for the manager and were informed that we were talking to him. We explained our issue and he told us there was nothing more they could or would do. So, another restaurant fails do to poor customer service! read more

The food is always delicious and the service is spot on. The restaurant is quaint and welcoming.

The price is good and the food is too. We really liked the Roma sauce. Definitely want to try this place again.

Roma cafe isn't as good as before. The service is just ok, prices have drastically increased, and quality has reduced significantly. Their shrimps are much smaller, calamari is very dark and chewy, and kids Alfredo is disappointing. I'd recommend you order a whole plate instead. The food here seemed to become more Americanized. I felt really disappointed on this visit. Roma cafe was one of the best places in Mobile. Edit I have dined in at this restaurant post covid and have made multiple takeout orders. Roma Cafe is the best! The gentleman at the Host stand was very courteous when walking in. My waitress, Mimi? ( lady with red hair), she was AWESOME! It was very busy, but service was outstanding! The food was even fresh and hot. Definitely a great place to eat. read more

Excellent food, great small town atmosphere, and very attentive and kind staff! Coming from Chicago, good Italian food has been hard to come by, but this place is worth it! This is the perfect place if you're looking for some home style Italian cooking at reasonable prices, but want something better than Olive Garden. I had the meat lasagna and the hubby had shrimp scampi and both were delicious! The food came out super fast and everything tasted fresh. A simple house salad comes with your entree and it's nothing to write home about, but for ~$11-13 a plate, I'm not complaining. The star of the show was the Italian cream cake we had for dessert! The perfect amount of sweet and tart, with a clean lemony finish and caramel drizzle. As I'm typing this I'm licking the plate clean. read more

Used to swear by this place, but now I hate it. Maybe they have a good cook and a bad one? The staff have shown me great kindness when they realized I was suffering due to mental illness though. So good people, but something needs to be fixed in the kitchen. read more

This place is so nice! The atmosphere is great. We came here for lunch and the staff is so inviting and polite. We had Summer as our server and she was super sweet! Our food came very quickly and was delicious. It tasted homemade and there was nothing needing to be changed. I got the Seafood Manicotti and my friend got the Meat Lasagna. The back roads to get to the store seemed kind of sketchy, but once arriving to the location you feel in your own little world with how cute they have it set up. Outdoor seating is very well decorated with cute lights as well as the interior being cute with signs around the restaurant. The food... AMAZING. 109% better than Olive Garden. I got the baked ziti, and this has to have been the best baked ziti to ever enter my mouth... sooo much cheese! The service from the waiter could've been better, but granted we were told he was very busy. Overall I'd rather this a 9/10. Definitely will be back to try the lasagna! read more

Why did I wait so long to try this place? I think maybe it is location....But thank goodness for Yelpers that pulled me in along with my SIL. The wait staff is so friendly - The food is fresh and flavorful. We went on a Sunday after church and it was packed! But we sat outside in the Fall weather and enjoyed it. This is the textbook definition of a hole in the wall. Yet another restaurant to grace the beautiful road that is Airport lies a small Italian restaurant with delicious fare. Even with a full house, the wait was maybe 15 minutes on a Friday night. As we were seated I took a look at their menu and was surprised by the prices of all these different Italian dishes. Usually, I pay 15 or so for just a regular pasta but for this price, you could buy a veal or chicken parmigiana... I was ecstatic. I ended up trying out their veal parmigiana because I've always wanted to try it. When they brought it out I was stunned honestly. They brought out this huge plate filled with a huge veal cutlet and and penne pasta. It passed the eye test with flying colors! I went ahead and ate the pasta first and was met with a sweet, flavorful tomato sauce... absolute perfection! This paired with the veal was just heaven! I was super full after eating half so you'll definitely have leftovers. Great service, even better food makes for a great night! I'll definitely be coming back here! read more

Great food, casual atmosphere. While they don't serve alcohol their sweet tea makes up for it! We had two appetizers, the shrimp scampi and the spinach pastry. I would have given this a 5 but we had to wait 10 minutes and wave someone down in almost empty restaurant with 4 males standing near us. We did finally wave someone down and the host took the blame for the wait and apologized. I just didn't want to give 5 in case this is the norm? Once served it all went fast. The food was hot and delicious. We had spaghetti and meat sauce and baked ravioli in the Roma sauce and some salads. The staff was nice enough. It was very clean. I was on a short lunch break from training class, and this place really moved me in and out quickly without any loss of service. They started me with delicious garlic bread and a house salad. This place is one local joint I can really recommend to friends visiting from out of town. It never fails to be a hit. I LOVE the Cheesesteaks. Especially the one with jalapeños and mushrooms. Maybe it's called 911? YUMMERS!! Their side salad is substantial with homemade tasting ranch and blue cheese dressings. The spaghetti is really tasty! And the garlic bread is made of the same sandwich hoagie bread as the Cheesesteaks which is crusty and chewy at the same time. Really good food here!! read more

My husband and I sure did want to love "Roma Cafa" and we were looking forward to eating here. We left a bit disappointed. We may try it again sometime and get something completely different off the menu. Definitely a non-pasta dish for me next time. The service was good. Our waitress was accommodating and we were never in need of anything. Our food came out quickly and the restaurant was busy and clean. We were happy so far... I ordered the "Seafood Manicotti". I had high hopes when it came out bubbling with hot cheese. Anybody that knows me knows that I love cheese, but for the first time in my life I have experienced too much cheese. There were only two manicotti pasta stuffed with ricotta in the dish, surrounded with cheese and greasy oil topped with more cheese. Now normally this would sound great to me, but it grossed me out about three bites in. It was just solid bites of cheese. There was very little pasta or anything other than cheese in this dish. As for the seafood part, there were about five shrimp on top that were very flavorful and delicious. However, it seems like they should call this "Shrimp Manicotti" not "Seafood Manicotti" since I was not able to find any other seafood in my dish whatsoever. I ate about a quarter of my dish, got it to go and I felt a bit uneasy to my stomach every time I thought about it. The price for my husband and me to eat lunch here was around $30 before tax and tip. We each had an entrée and only ordered water to drink. For the style and atmosphere of this restaurant the prices seemed a bit high. Again, I might come back and try one of their sandwiches or a non-pasta dish and maybe I will love them. I tried this place for the first time and had the Chicken Alfredo. My problem was that I couldn't see the bowl of pasta for the sauce poured on top. It was drowned in Alfredo, way too much in my opinion. At $13.99 a bowl, I thought it was a bit pricey for what I got. We spent $29.68 before tip on two entree's that came with side salads. That being said, I had no problem with the service. Our server was very nice, got our order in promptly and checked on us more than once. The portion size was large, so I did get plenty of food. And I would try them again since they had several sandwiches on the menu that looked interesting. read more
