My husband got the K-pop burger. We shared an onion ring order. While the hamburgers were pretty good, the onion rings had no seasoning whatsoever on it. And even the onions didn't have much flavor. I was very sad because I love homemade onion rings, but these were just not it. Inside the restaurant was kind of dirty. Not many clean tables. We sat at a table where I had to clean half of the table and there were hamburger sticks (the thing that goes in the middle of a hamburger to hold it all together, on the other side of the table. The Ramen came out in a togo container which i was surprised by had very little garnish no scallions and the noodles weren't even cooked all the way sadly, i know its ramen and takes only a few minutes to cook but that was a little sad, the broth was the saving grace, cause it was spicy, salty and had a lot of flavor. I really wanted to like everything, the chicken was perfect but the seasonings were not. I got fried chicken breast with cheese powder and I have never gotten it before so I wasn't prepared for it to taste like straight sugar. I also got the soy garlic sauce and no soy or garlic flavor was apparent to me which I love it was a light almost white sticky sauce on it. So I dont know of someone put the wrong sauce? I have had soy garlic sauce at other korean chicken places and its a thinner consistency more garlic and soy forward flavor and it usually brown. Maybe their version just doesnt have that. Not really hitting the spot. Also I guess I was supposed to get a salad with my meal but it was just shredded cabbage. The pictures show a green salad that other people have posted. Sadly disappointed on that note. The dressing was sweet too. The corn salad was sweet and cabbage filled. The onion mayo had a whisper of onion flavor and again I dont know if that is how its supposed to be. On last thing the spicy mayo had absolutely ZERO SPICE. Non existent spice spicy mayo made me sad. So if you like pink mayo, get that one. The cubed pickled daikon was the only thing that wasn't sweet and it was a nice relief from all the sugar. Maybe I should have gotten the spice chicken batter instead of the original. I want to try it again and approach it from a different angle on the menu. The chicken was perfectly fried moist and crispy. I really hope to update this with a different experience some time. It was a nice cozy little place near hmart.

Along with that blessing, I find myself being addicted to everything that makes me sick. Life hands you lemons, ya eat it anyway. So imagine my surprise when I dig into a box of fried chicken and don't see grease collecting around the entire box. It can't taste good if it's not greasy, right? I was delightfully proven wrong. The chicken was juicy af. Yes, so juicy I actually said wtf. The meat was tender, the skin was crunchy. And it was like an ASMR session kind of crunchy. I would've recorded the sound but unfortunately I'm allergic to ASMR. I'll be honest, when I first saw 98k Chicken I didn't have high expectations. I thought it would be another Zaxby's, Popeyes, KFC, etc. But they've really set themselves apart! The price is far more reasonable than other chain fried chicken restaurants, the portions are bigger, and the quality of the food is consistently superior. If they're able to keep up with what they're doing, I think this will be a community favorite. Good food speaks for itself, and so do the kind owners that pour their hearts and souls into their businesses. When I go to a fast food restaurant, I barely expect people to look at me in the eye, let alone carry on a conversation with me. But the woman at the counter is actually quite chatty! She makes you feel like you're talking to a friend, and if you stop by a few times, she even shares tea. IYKYK. The interior space is big and quiet enough if you wanna grab a meal and get some work done. There's a little room that's sectioned off, and it's a bit of a gem. I don't remember if they have WiFi, next time I go I'll check and come back to update my review.
