We had a great time with this rental... But the staff was even more amazing! Would definitely rent here again

We rented a water ski/wakeboard speed boat from Crystal Springs Adventures (also known as Rollins Lake Boat Rentals) and it was a terrific experience! We made reservations in advance and the instructions provided were clear and accurate. Jenn, the owner, and her daughter were very friendly, welcoming, prepared and informative to help us get oriented and make sure we were careful in driving and docking the boat. They provided a map that made it clear which areas to avoid. They also had all we needed to ski: life jackets, skis, rope, waterproof Bluetooth speaker, and a portable battery charger in case our phone needed more juice. The boat and equipment were well-maintained and clean; and the staff wore masks, so it felt COVID-safe. Because we went on a Monday, the lake was calm and peaceful. The trees surrounding the lake are beautiful, especially since there are no homes on it. The entire day was amazing, even with the wind picking up and more boats pulling tubes in the afternoon. We heard that the weekends are very busy and that they limit the number of cars in the parking lot, so try to go on a weekday, if you can. The company is under new management, so disregard the old posts that gave lower ratings. The new management is terrific - and you will have a great time! Please be safe and follow their guidance and instructions. Have fun!

We were able to rent both a double kayak and to stand up paddle boards on the same day. We showed up to the office and there were two ladies working, I think Tammi and Tracy. They were both friendly and helpful and accommodated our last minute timing. Even though the kayaks and boards are on the older side and need some maintenance, I'm giving it five stars because the service was great and they rearrange their schedule to stay later for our timing. It is easy to launch both the kayaks and the stand up paddle is from the dark. And the lake was gorgeous, flat and it was a beautiful sunny day. The rates were super affordable and we would use the service again

    Beautiful day on the lake!

This was our first time at Rollins Lake and we may have found a new family spot. We arranged a 3 day ski boat rental for our time there. Jen and the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful. The boat was well maintained and clean. We had our own boards but rented a tube for the 3 days. The tubes were also well maintained and clean. Since the tubes are so big, the staff held on to them for us until we were ready each day. They were very communicative and prompt when it came time to pick them up. They arranged a slip rental for us as well so that we could use the boat at our leisure for our time there. The staff was polite, courteous and easy to talk to. We can't wait to go back next season and will most certainly be renting from them when we do. Thanks so much once again!

We rented a pontoon for the day. The two lady's operating the boat rentals were so helpful and friendly couldn't have asked for better customer service. It was so much fun and we will for sure be going back.

The whole fam-bam was out there by 7 a.m., lines in the water as soon as we could get them in. About 30 minutes in, our middle child--who ALWAYS seems to be the first to catch something--reeled in the first fish. Not long after, our youngest caught one too, literally right after releasing the first! Then I got in on the action, followed by my husband. Our oldest was getting tons of bites but just couldn't land one. With only about 30 minutes left before we had to pack up for the parade, my husband gave him a tip and sent him to his go-to spot. Boom--fish on the line right away! He let that one go, cast again, and caught another within minutes. It was a perfect ending to our morning. Rollins Lake is such a fun spot to fish as a family. Bring chairs, sunscreen, hats, and don't forget snacks and drinks. The port-o-potties weren't bad at all, and there was plenty of parking too. We had a blast and will absolutely be coming back soon!

We tried paying the $22 for day use for a couple hours and put it in the payment slot thinking she would allow us to stay as she did the fishermen. Nope! It's a beautiful lake and a…read moredecent campground, but over the last few years, Nevada Irrigation District has become so greedy and that we are, sadly, now looking for another place to camp. Here's why: 1) We were just there at Long Ravine, and the campground was EMPTY, but we had a third vehicle for 4 of the 7 days we were staying. We were forced to pay over $200 for another campsite (which we NEVER used) just to park the third car even though the parking area right across from site 26 was completely empty the entire time! We were willing to pay the $20/night for the car, but this was ridiculous! They stated fire marshal rules, but there was NO evacuation danger! But then on Friday, when the camp filled up more, there was a car parked in the extra parking area with a camp tag! There was also a truck allowed to park on the dirt area between campsites! 2) Upon arrival, one of the stalls in the women's bathroom was taped up and noted out of order. We were told it was being fixed but it never was and the smell only got worse through the week and when we left on Saturday, another toilet was stopped up, leaving only one stall to use on a busy weekend. 3) We paid $68/night for another electric site even though we use tents. We have a boat and not only were we charged the $13/night extra charge for having a boat, but we were also charged a launch fee for each day of our stay, even though we didn't launch the boat every day! That should be part of the camping fee! 4) We went there a month early this year as we were told that they would be releasing the water starting July 1 due to repairs needing to be done, but upon arrival, the lake was already way down so there was no day beach or Great Lake access beaches as they were all in sludge! And they were still charging people $20/vehicle for their day use when it was so steep and rocky that you couldn't even get to the water easily! We get that fees go up, but then we should also see improvements to the camps! And to impose such restrictive and excessive fees is a total turn off. State campgrounds are hands-down much better than this and we'll only use them now.

The camp was right next to Rollins Lake. A fairly decent oasis amidst the trees in Nevada county. Water was cold which was heaven sent since the outside temperature was averaging around 90. The sand bar was a great hangout place. We took an aluminum boat out to the "bar" which was the only mistake. Can you say "ouch." Aluminum and heat don't mix y'all. Regardless, a good time was had by all. If you need to get away from the heat of SAC, go to this lake.

WONDERFUL NEWS!!! I found a lake that isn't a small muddy pond(yes I am looking at you Folsom Lake…read moreand Camp Far West) late in the summer. The winner is Rollins Lake! Hadnt been here in, oh, I would say 20ish years. So I didn't recognize anything which means I came in with a fresh, open mind. First off the drive up to the lake is really nice. My wife even commented how she loved the trees and the view of the lake was gorgeous. The price was pretty decent, boat and truck was $13 for the day. We put the boat in at Long Ravine Campground which was called Cecil's Cove I believe. The young men at the gate were SUPER friendly, big thumbs up for that. The ramp is a little small and the two parking lots are set up kind of funny turning up a hill, but manageable. While cruising in the 5 mph zone you drive by the marina, the Store/Grill, swimming area, a cool slide that sits in the cove which you can slide off of it into the water, gas station(afraid to know how expensive it was) and boat rentals. I admit I liked the view of it all. The lake is a little on the small side but it also has huge fingers that weave deep into the mountains which are fun to drive into. Many of us commented on how clean the water was and the views were gorgeous. And get this, the water level was seriously 10 feet from maximum capacity. It looked like early summer. I really couldn't believe how full the lake was. We beached up all day and all of us had fun, including the dogs. You have a new fan Rollins Lake. A new fan indeed and I will see you soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmCcq4yhrMY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Siwto_JvBkY
