Came in when it was slow. It's a very casual and fast service. When you first come in you can see the smokers right outside. They have the boxes and containers and extra sauces in the front- so you can just box everything yourself. The service was great. He knew his menu and even gave us samples of the hot links and honey burbon sausages to taste the difference before we ordered. The hot link had a nice kick and the honey burbon was the complete opposite, very sweet and savory. Everything we ordered was very delicious. You can tell they the food is smoked with care and seasoned greatly. I loved the chipotle and spicy bbq sauce they have at each table. The green chili had great flavors. The brisket was tender and the burnt end was very fatty. The ribs tips, if it's available which it was for me- this was my favorite. That tator tots and fried okra was seasoned and crispy. Great BBQ but not great service. On take-out orders there is frequently an issue - food not available when promised, orders getting lost in the queue, incomplete orders. On last order, I got home and realized the order was incomplete - when I called to ask for an adjustment to the bill I was put on hold, and after 25 minutes on hold I realized they were never going to pick up the call to fix the problem.. read more

Stopped in for some bbq and this place just got added to the favorites in my phone. I am beyond gutted, luckily I saw a quiet lil secluded area that's perfect for a nap. The food was bomb, the portions were really healthy sized and the toasted cornbread was an added touch. The service was over the top. Kook helped me out and was a funny addition to this lil gem. We tried Rolling Smoke last weekend. My husband is a big bbq fan so we ordered the Whole Smoker. Unfortunately they were out of burnt ends so we substituted with extra brisket. For our sides we got Mac and cheese, baked beans, loaded green Chile tots, and jalapeño corn bread. I think our favorite meat was the pulled pork- super delicious! The two different types of sausage were also very good! I made it a point to try all their different sauces and I really liked the spicy bbq sauce and the green Chile bbq sauce. Then my favorite side was definitely the loaded green Chile tots- amazing! Only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is bc the jalapeño corn bread was dry and my husband also thought the brisket was a bit dry. Otherwise, everything was delicious. I'll tell you what, I'm always looking for a good spot for some quality smoked BBQ. I think this may become my goto establishment. I say "may" because I was only able to try a few of their goodies as I showed up a little later in the day. I understand that places like this can only make a set amount of meat and they have to guess how much they'll need. There's no real solution to this problem as I don't want old meat anyway. Arrived at 11:06 sign and website shows them opening at 11:00am. Went to the door was locked, and the employee came to the door and stated they had a big order and we would have to wait 20 minutes. Got the rest of our party and came to the door. The door is now locked. Employee came back and said we are not opening now till 11:30. It is very unprofessional and rude. Pro's: The brisket and the pulled were very delicious and seasoned perfectly! A great variety of sides to choose from. We got seasoned tots, green Chile , Mac and cheese and collared greens. The green Chile and tots were great . Cons : we ordered online on the app and our food was not ready at the time we ordered it to be picked up from (we had to wait around 15-20 min ) . The Mac and cheese was very very dry- it didn't even taste like Mac and cheese it tasted like it was sitting outside for a few days. Really disappointed because I read other reviews that it was good. Lastly, they give you one side of bbq sauce and it was a very small portion ,I would recommend buying an extra side of sauce . read more

Went in early to the Centennial location on a slow Friday, so the lack of incoming customers may have had some role in the food coming out. Decent draft beers and excellent sides, but the smoked brisket and pulled pork were heavily lacking. The brisket was dry with little flavor in the rub, and the pulled pork was also surprisingly dry. Not sure if the pork had too much fat cap trimmed off before being smoked for too long, but that was the impression left. We visited Rolling Smoke BBQ for dinner and ordered three entrees and a drink. I was really looking forward to trying this place since I'm into BBQ, it's close-ish to my home and had good ratings. I don't know if we had a very off experience but considering almost all the dishes weren't ideal, I am dubious it will be better later. Pleasant customer service makes me want to give it another shot down the line though. We got: pulled pork, burnt ends, brisket and hot links for meats. And Smoky Mac N Cheese, Baked Beans, Potato Salad and Slaw for the sides. We all liked the Mac n cheese most of all, but even that was weirdly dry and excessively oily at the same time. Dry on the top and edges and pools of oil in the bottom. Funky. Potato Salad had a lot of celery seed in it but was still very bland. It resembled little of what the menu described it as, sadly. Baked beans were seriously bland. I had to add the spicy BBQ sauce to zaz it up a little and then it was pretty good. It was the only side I finished eating. The Slaw was pretty awful to me. I wondered if it was spoiling, it tasted so weird. Impossible to place the flavor but I decided it wasn't really a rancid/spoiled flavor, but weird. I didn't eat another bite of that. The brisket was mostly dry and tough. Not moist and tender. Decent smoke flavor. But it was unfortunately the best meat I tried. The pulled pork was my least favorite kind.... It's where they pull it and kind of mash it until it's lumps of mushy meat with no meat texture. Fatty, a bit smoky but not much smoke flavor. My husband said he liked it though because it was the most moist meat. Hot links were not good. Not that hot and not very flavorful either. The burnt ends were described as "melt in your mouth". But what I got was tough, chewy, dry and awful. I couldn't even finish one entire piece of it. By far the worst of all the meats we tried. Most of my serving remained on my plate. Sweet tea didn't really taste right to me. Mild, had a faint "old tea" taste and wasn't very sweet although there was a bottle of what was probably simple syrup there to add more. Since the base tea didn't taste great I didn't bother and just drank my water instead. I am sad to review this place so poorly but no one enjoyed the quality of the food and two of the three plates were pretty full and headed for the trash when we left because I knew it wouldn't be better as leftovers. In a couple of months I will probably visit again and see if they have improved their meat quality because the customer service was pretty good for counter service food and I hope they can improve on consistency but so far we just didn't enjoy it. read more

We've been to both this location and the Stanley Marketplace location and they are both pretty good. The meat was dry and sauceless, but we liked the burnt ends and the sausage. The sides are pretty good if you avoid the Mac n cheese. It's not overpriced, which is nice when getting BBQ. It seems people around here think it's worth a fortune. The mac and cheese was flavorless. Turkey has been taken off the menu due to supply issues? (Every other bbq place has Turkey) 2 stars for being close by and the collard greens! I also do not appreciate your "service charge" PLUS your staff pressuring me into tipping on top of this by making it very awkward spinning the iPad around wanting 12-15 dollars more for literally handing me a to-go bag. read more

I have a bone to pick with the service. Lately, the lady that works the front counter has been in a huff. Not sure what's up with that. But I ordered about $50 worth of BBQ today. A three meat plate, a pork sandwich and a pound of pork. When I got to pick up, I saw there was only a relatively small amount of sauce. Look, I like BBQ sauce. That's the whole point of BBQ. So, I asked for a couple extra sauces, the two ounce cups. So, we are talking about maybe $0.25 worth of BBQ sauce. She huffs at me that she already gave me sauce and that should be enough. I was rather surprised at this reaction. I've asked before this way and never had a problem. But the last two times I've been in, she's just been a generally pissy mood. This time she said something about next time I'll have to charge you for it. Um, okay. So, I've been here a dozen times since Covid started. I've always made a point of tipping the staff before being asked. I figure I've been spending easily $100 a week there during the pandemic, trying to help out small businesses, and she gets mad this time over a quarter's worth of BBQ sauce. I love the food here, but there are alot of BBQ places around that don't have the side of attitude. Look, I get it, if your business can't afford to give away condiments that are supposed to be part of the package, maybe you should rethink your pricing, or simply raise it a bit. Picked up from here 2x now and have been really hopeful for this place since it seems to have done well with their other locations, and god knows BBQ places have struggled in this area, BUT both times food has just been OK: not bad, not great. Both times, the Pulled Pork has been good, along with the collard greens ((which is awesome they offer since many BBQ places in town don't and/or don't do them well)), but everything else not so much. Baked Beans, potato salad, mac & cheese were just OK to a bit blah. I was SO excited for the Burnt ends, but both times I have had it, it was WAY over done, where I am surprised it was served as it wasn't really edible. I have had burnt ends at a few other places that are able to pull off crispy, tasty, and not overdone, so hopefully they can adjust here to really have it as a standout for their menu. I also find it interesting that they don't serve any bread items with the plates, nor have any bread for side options. The sandwiches are the only place any bread appears to be available. Good for low-carb or keto fans I suppose? Side note - I am a super fan of their to-go packaging and food has always been ready promptly. read more

This place is such a gem. Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere (when the world returns to normal and dine-in eating is restored, you'll find out for yourself. The service is fantastic. I picked up an order this evening and just shortly after I left, they called to say they had forgotten something from my order and gave me the option of a credit or returning. I returned as I was still close and they took care of it immediately. I can't say how nice it is to have them proactively reach out and admit the missing item instead of me making it all of the way home and being so bummed. That's the norm and every other restaurant. Order still not ready at 5:52 pm. Asked order taker about my order ( he was polite). He said they must have given my order to someone else. Paid 4% customer service fee. Waited another 5 minutes. First time visit and here are my thoughts. Tried the burnt ends and at 7.00 for 3 pieces I thought the price was way too much. Didn't think they hard a great bark but tasted pretty good. Had to give the ribs a try because thats my favorite bbq meat. The 30.00 price point for a full rack seems also a little high so I opted for a half rack. These ribs were truly fall off the bone with a beautiful pink smoke line. Once again I found a little shortcoming, this time with the taste. The ribs looked amazing but I couldn't really taste any of the rub. I like to eat my ribs dry so I would have loved some more flavor. I will go back for a second try because I think that is only fair when grading a new restaurant. I just read that there is a fee for credit cards. The cashier never mentioned that to me.
