    Jumbo donut

After dinner out we were looking for a place to get dessert on the way home. Passed Rolling Pin Donuts and decided to give it a try. It doesn't look like much from the curb. But looks are deceiving. 8 PM on a Wednesday and no line. Huge selection available. We decided to try the jumbo donut with chocolate and sprinkles ($5.50) (see the photo). Good choice. Had to be one of the best donuts ever.

With two locations, one in Ventura and another in Camarillo, Rolling Pin Donuts asserts itself as the "Best Donuts in Ventura County," a claim sustained by loyal fans that support them nearly 24/7 save for a break from noon to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Old-school in all the right ways, each Donut handmade without any pre-mix, guests are invited to step up and peruse everything from Fritters and Basmarks to Cronuts and Cereal-topped options. Friendly in terms of service, the whole array of fried Dough on display at 10am Sunday, fans of raised Rings will find Glazed, Maple or Cinnamon Crumb all light and fluffy while Bismarks include Jelly, Cream or even Cream Cheese. Fair priced compared to all the fancy spots in LA, two-dozen just a shade over $50 including tax and tip, Cinnamon Rolls predictably see center outshine edges while the Buttermilk Bar, Old Fashioned, Bear Claw and Fritter are all compelling enough in terms of taste and texture to justify every calorie.

These donuts are good. We ordered two donuts, a milk, and a water. Nothing too special to be honest. The service was good. The cool thing about this place is that it is open late on the weekends. We came after midnight and there were young people hanging out in the outdoor dining area. Overall, this is good place if you craving a late night snack. But not a must try if you're in the LA area.

They had amazing donuts and their cronuts were really good. The service was fast and the ambiance was good. It is all outdoors.

Can't go wrong with a late-night snack at this beloved Camarillo landmark! The parking area is small but I've always managed to find a spot. Sometimes there's a bit of a line, especially at night, but the wait time is reasonably quick. Make sure to bring cash if possible as there is a small fee when paying with card. This was my first time trying the ham & cheese croissant and it was huuuuuuuge! The croissant was so buttery and flaky with just the right amount of ham and cheese inside. All their doughnuts are delicious, so whenever I go (unless I'm craving something specific), I ask for whatever's fresh to ensure the best possible bites :P During my most recent visit, they had just finished a batch of chocolate chip rolls (MY FAV) so I knew I had to get one. They are enormous and the chocolate is so rich and luscious and not toooo terribly sweet. An easy five stars from me!

Recommend the Custard Cronut and can't go wrong with the glazed blueberry donut. Service was good and quick with the window to help pick your dessert. Ambiance was good for a Friday afternoon. Got there but if got busy and there were enough tables to sit down and eat. Timing of the day may matter as they might have other options. For example didn't have any apple fritters but likely will have them later in the evening. Definitely coming back nonetheless.

They make the prettiest & biggest sprinkled doughnuts. Make sure to bring cash!! My son loves coming here and he's a doughnut enthusiast.

My favorite donuts! I just visited from out of town and had to get some rolling pin while I could. Having lived in several states now, rolling pin is always my favorite.

We stopped by here because of good Yelp reviews. Donuts were fresh. Fast service. Cool spot to hang out to enjoy a quick snack.

Literally so good. Love the ham and cheese croissant and the buttermilk bar which is like an old fashion but in a bar. Bought a dozen for my mom's birthday and she loved sampling them. Definitely recommend stopping by and checking them out. Everyone was helpful and it was super fast window service. Casual and vintage vibe.

If you're not civilized enough to go out into the public, then stay your homeschooled p-brain Azz home! I've had better, (yeah, check out donuts West in Moorpark!), but happen to be in the area and stopped by for a late night treat. High price to pay for one donut! So, so disappointing to see the teens hanging out at the tables that late night being unruly and obnoxious. One teen tossed their 1/2 eaten donut into the crowd waiting in line. Another, also tossed their empty milk container into the same crowd of waiting customer's almost hitting a patrons pet dog. The owners should dig out the videos--YES IDIOTS YOU ARE FILMED--and post for everyone to see just WHO the proud parents are of these knuckleheads! Apparently a group of them were having a sleepover. Their "fun" evening could've gone REALLY bad if those throwing items would've hit someone's child. Have respect went going out, and enjoy yourself, don't be a jerk! Good grief.

Highly recommend this business to any family or friend. They do a wonderful job at providing the most flavors and delicious donuts. Everyone that works. Here is highly knowledgeable and well polite.

Are mochi donuts gluten free since they are made with rice flour (I read somewhere)? If not, is there any possibility of us seeing gluten free donuts in the near future?

Yes. Mochi Donuts are Gluten Free. Unfortunately the Gluten Free Mixes are at higher prices (double in price) and also the dusting flower we use to roll our dough it is 100% Gluten. So, we will have to change both in order to make them. In the donut… Read more

    None. Only traditional donuts. Sorry.

What's a good time to come by when a wide variety of donuts are in stock? Been there twice, once around 9am and second around 10:30am and both times super slim selection. What we had was awesome, but 80% of the shelves were empty.

I know what I'm going to say is not what people want to hear, but making donuts is way more complicated than baking cookies and cakes. To find a wide variety you will have to come in late at night from 9 PM to Midnight. And we finish baking at 5 AM… Read more

Having tried several donut shops in the area, this is my favorite, and was a hit at the office. A good local corner donut shop with plenty of donut options. I've tried just about everything they offer, from their mochi donuts to their ham and cheese croissants. Nothing here will disappoint. Service is quick, and the staff is friendly. There nothing overly fancy about this place, it's just good regular donuts, in an old fashioned donut shop setting, conveniently located. Donut shops give that feel good nostalgia of waking up as a kid and knowing if your parents will budge to get donuts then the weekend is glorious. I've had this spot bookmarked for a while now in Newbury Park mainly because they have the cutest decorated donuts here. Definitely picture worthy and fun for the kids. They seem to have different themes and styles. Would be great for parties. I stumbled in this morning and grabbed a few of my favorites. Some of the classics - sprinkles, maple, chocolate glaze. I saved the fun hello kitty and baseball donuts for the kids who would be sure to come by later. Four donuts for $7. A little over $1.50 each ain't bad. Donuts are made with love and the lady (Judy?) working behind the counter was very nice. The shop is small where you grab the donuts when then there is a nice little bend with some seats and tables.
