Just bought another bike from B&L. And I read the other reviews, both good and bad. Here's the…read morething. Bikes, in the U.S., instead of truly being mainstreamed into our culture, still (especially on the Palouse) are still kind of a niche thing. The people that dedicate their life to cycle-culture in a part of the country that still kinda rejects it, are not going to be the standard issue. They're interesting, friendly, but also a little quirky. They're real people, and I'm glad of that every time I go into the store. If you want an upper end bike on the Palouse, with great service, and real personalities, this is the place. I think I'm on Bike #7 from them, and have been satisfied with every single one of them. Do I wish, sometimes, that there were greater choice? Yes. Am I glad, at least, that they are a distributor for Trek, most definitely one of the top brands? Yes. Do I recommend them all without reservation? Absolutely. Go in, get to know them, and buy a bike from them. It will definitely put you in your happy place!

Have bike trouble? Tough luck they are closed Sunday and Monday so I hope you have what you need…read more The selection is not great at all. Limited grip take, mostly e bikes for sale and little gear. The old guy who runs it won't even check you out. Opting instead to talk to his buddies while you stand there waiting to pay worse than retail prices. Multiple times I have had bike trouble and need a quick fix. But nope. It's the weekend, and B & L isn't open. I have to take time off work and school to make it to this bike store. I would trust REI more.

The closest bike shops from my cabin are 100 miles away, so I try to do as many maintenance and…read morerepair items myself. Being offgrid and still building, I can;t just hookup Youtube for more advanced issues and had been fighting with an indexing problem for some time. I took a chance with Folletts, rolling in at 10 am, asking if it was possible to get same day service since I did live a ways away, BUT could make arrangements for my bike to be picked up at a later time. Not only were they able to take in the bike for same day service, but were finished well ahead of the estimated time. The store is well stocked for both mtn and road as well as a small skate shop, I'm eyeing a new set of hydraulic brakes and new front wheel for my XC ride since the prices are so competitive. It turns out the bike shop in CA I had purchased the bike from actually mounted the rear derailleur WRONG and Follets was stunned it wasn't trashed. They fixed the issue, answered a TON of questions I had about another bike Im installing a new fork on, and recommended a great lube/ cleaner for the clay we deal with on my local trails. Additionally, they rec'd an updated maintenance book since now I'm dealing with 15mm thru axles and hydraulic brakes, items not covered in my older guides. Total damage for all my goodies and the service was fifty bucks. a screaming deal. A total win-win. Got my ride back in shape, saved some bucks and have a reliable LBS to go to!
