This is the first time I have EVER written a review. But couldn't pass up the opportunity here. Paradise Creek Bicycles has been a game changer for my husband and I, who just moved to Moscow, ID weeks ago and are looking to become "avid" cyclists ;) but have barely ever cycled. We had essentially nothing, except ill-fitted hand-me-down bikes. I can honestly say we would still be in that boat if it weren't for Paradise Bikes and generous people like T-Jay, Chuck, and Carlin who are not only extremely knowledgable about bikes themselves, but also show interest in your biking goals so as to give you the best experience possible when you ride. I had a fitting session with T-Jay, but that's hardly what he did. He not only fitted my bike PERFECTLY, but he took the time (almost 2 hours) to explain how to ride my bike with optimal efficiency, how to use my gears, general biking etiquette, and answered every last question I had. He went above and beyond, while also sprinkling in some epic stories about his life and biking experiences. Truly a remarkable man who obviously loves his job and desires to make people smile before they leave the shop. My husband and I are stoked to begin this new hobby together (as a newly married couple) and that has been made possible because of Paradise Bikes! Wish we could rate higher than 5 stars!! read more

Visited this bike shop traveling through from Coeur d'Alene to Palo Alto. Even though they didn't have what I needed I wanted to do a review. First, they have a great selection of bikes, bikes accessories and clothes - - and at reasonable prices. For a Palo Alto resident to rate the selection highly says lots - - Palo Alto is rated one of the country's most bicycle friendly towns! The staff knew what type of mirror I needed and said he recently sold out. He looked around the store and then offered to order it 'tho not possible for me as a very short-time visitor. I appreciated his searching, though, and of course found arm warmers and socks to buy while waiting. What a nice shop. Makes me want to move to Moscow - - almost! read more

Just got a new Giant bike from Paradise Creek Bicycles and could not be more happy with the bike or the way I was treated during the entire sales process. TJ and his staff are all incredibly knowledgeable about their product and helped with everything. I started by renting a bike which turned into a purchase. Many places sell Giant bikes but I'm not sure you could get better customer service anywhere else. read more

TL;DR: Nice people. Good bikes. Good deals. Involved in the local community. Over the past few months, our extended family has bought 5 bikes from Paradise, brought in 3-more for tuneups, and rented a total of 4 additional bikes. We chose Paradise not for lack of options (we're lucky enough to have at least 4 independent bike shops between Moscow and Pullman), but because they're a great shop. Paradise and its employees are pretty involved in MAMBA, the local mountain bike group that's responsible for building and maintaining the fantastic network of trails on Moscow Mountain. If it wasn't for all the work MAMBA does, the Palouse wouldn't be nearly so great of a place to ride. On that note, I should mention that Paradise is geared (get it, geared?) more towards the MTB and recreational crowd than hardcore roadies. That's not to say they don't carry road bikes or you shouldn't go there to buy one. But if you're looking for somewhere to discuss the improved performance you've been getting from your $300 Rapha shorts and sneer at Freds without Campagnolo electronic shifters, Paradise probably isn't the place for you. Paradise currently carries Giant and Raleigh bikes. Both are fine brands, and I've heard a few people say that right now Giant is delivering the most value per dollar on their bikes of any company in the industry. This makes sense since they're one of the very few manufactures that still run their own manufacturing plants. 3 of the 5 bikes we've bought from Paradise are Giant MTBs, and 2 are Giant kids' bikes, and all 5 are great. A couple of the MTBs were new bikes from past model years, and the deals we got on them were comparable with any sales I've seen at much larger bike shops in much bigger cities. In an ideal world, it would be nice if Paradise could add a few more brands to their inventory, but bike manufacturers heavily pressure and incentivize shops towards exclusivity, and it would likely be impossible for Paradise to add another brand without dropping one of their current manufacturers. Paradise also maintains a respectable rental fleet. Back before we moved to Moscow, I rented one of their Giant Anthem's a couple of times during visits. This winter, we took out all 3 of their rental fat-tire bikes for a New Year's day ride down snowcovered Moscow Mountain. I don't know that I've ever had more fun on two wheels. I know that really, a bike shop is just a bike shop. But for me, having a shop as good as Paradise right downtown is another one of those things that makes Moscow great. read more

This is an excellant bike shoppe. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. There is a lot to choose from in adult bikes, although it's not always so good for the kids bikes. I must admit though if you can't find what you're looking for they're willing to build it or order if it need be. The bikes range greatly in price and type depening on what you had in mind so everyone should be able to find something to suit. Their Burley trailers are reasonably priced and well worth it even just for the warranty. We've definitely gotten our money's worth out of ours and that warranty came in real handy. They have a large selection of Belle helmets ranging in size from infant to adult. I beleive they also have a few other brands, but not sure. I've never really looked. There is also a large selection of clothing, baskets, seats, tools, bells, etc. We have been solid customers here for almost three years and have always had great service. Our bikes are our major mode of transportation so it's worth the money to keep them in good working shape. It's good to not only keep business local but it also feels great when the employees recognize you and even call you by name. Oh, and they also have a small sections with a few toys for children to keep them amused as well as a couple of really nice dogs roaming the establishment. read more

Being new to bicycles, I went into all of the local bike stores looking for some information on what was what. I wanted a decent mountain bike, but I didn't know what constituted decent. Paradise Creek was the only shop that took the time to walk me through the details on what makes a good bike, what the differences between different models were, and throughout the entire interaction never tried to sell me a bike. I went back several times checking out various bikes, testing them, and never once felt pressured to buy anything. This is important to me, as I hate the car salesman attitudes that the other shops had. I ended up lucking out and getting in on one of their auctions of last years rental bikes and walked out with a fully rebuilt, full suspension Giant Anthem for $500. Can't beat a price like that! A few days after getting the bike, I managed to knock my shift cable loose and not knowing bikes, had no clue why I couldn't shift anymore. An employee at Paradise, Andrew, saw me trying to fix the bike, and went out of his way to come over, show me what went wrong, and proceeded to fix it for me. I think that speaks pretty highly of the quality of employees that work there. The most impressive part of all of this is about 3 weeks after purchasing my bike, a vehicle ran me off the road and into a concrete pillar, buggering up my front end pretty badly. I took it back to Paradise, told them what happened, and they replaced my front axle and front brakes free of charge. I was ecstatic that they took care of me like that. Bike was brought in to fix one small issue, and they caused 4 new issues on my bike, causing me to pay another large sum of money to get these issues repaired. I brought it in again, and they charged me more to "fix it", and again I left the bike shop with the bike working worse than I brought it in. Honestly, none of the staff I talked with seemed at all knowledgeable about bikes. Would not recommend taking your bike in here. read more

Paradise Creek Bicycles is the absolute best bike shop on the Palouse. These guys (and gals) are always helpful, even if they aren't going to make any money off you. TJ and his crew were instrumental in the rebuild of my 1960's Schwinn... I think they might have fallen for the bike as hard as I did. They were so great as to give me a box of mixed bolts and let me sort though it for 30+ minutes in the shop until I found the right one, and then help me install it free of charge. I stop in whenever I need any bike related help (which is frequent with an old bike like mine), and its nice that they know me and my bike. Paradise Creek has a great selection of bikes and accessories and if they don't have it in stock they will special order it for you. They also have a big following in Moscow and frequently put together bike rides for riders of all levels. Always friendly and willing to help you find the right bike or fix up the one you have. read more

Love the folks who work here (past and present) and the care they put into my bikes. T-Jay and the crew have helped me with three bicycle purchases (working on my fourth) over my 8 years on the Palouse. They're knowledgeable, patient, and thoughtful down to the last details. Whatever your pleasure of biking they have something for you or can probably get it. After purchase care has been truly commendable-I can come in any time with any problem and they'll work on it, only charging me if the labor was significant or if I needed new parts. I recently had to replace the shifter pods on my road bike and T-Jay went over the options so I could chose what would work best for me. When I buy new gear, this is the hands on approach I prefer. read more

I spent $200 on a bike tune up and the chain doesn't grab right and they didn't set the seat. The second time I took it in they made everything right or tried as best they could and didn't charge me a thing. As good of customer service as can be! The owner really cares about the shop's reputation and it just has a "mom & pop" feel to it. They support the community of Moscow in many ways.
