Since I hadn't heard from him, I made other plans and did not see his last minute email. . Despite two follow-up phone calls to him to find another time, I never heard back from him. This is extremely rude and I'm not interested in doing business with someone who runs a business this way.

They are truly skilled experts with thousands of hours, deep technical experience, deep competitive experience (all the way to competing in the Tour de France, btw), and fun to work with to boot. I went to see them to increase my endurance and enjoyment by reducing minor pains after several hours in the saddle. Kevin's scientific and organized approach was impressive. The RETUL technology was excellent, but Kevin is so experienced I could see it was just confirming with greater precision that which he'd already observed. To have someone of this skill who is also very patient and who customizes his methodology to your goals and level is a great combination, whether you are a novice or a serious biker. The accuracy and thoroughness of the methodology paid off. Riding my bike was much more fun in two ways. With adjustments, and with coaching on technique, I was able to ride longer. My pains were just, well, gone. However, what surprised me was that I'd picked up another 10 to 20% more power and speed just by having the right fit and essentially 1 hour of focus on technique. I couldn't believe the difference.

She contacted Texas Bike Tours, and Deaton spent a lot of time working with her to create the perfect customized itinerary just for us. We rode about 8 miles and hit up all the best foodie spots, saw some of the most beautiful and historic parts of the city, and had an incredible time eating tacos at Vera Cruz and doughnuts at Gordoughs. The bikes we rented through Mellow Johnny's were great, we were provided with fresh baked granola bars, lemon water, helmets and bags for our stuff. The weather was perfect, and I can't say enough good things about our guide Katherine and Texas Bike Tours. She was incredibly knowledgable about the city, history, and architecture. She's also an excellent photographer! She snapped pictures along the way, and all the pictures are uploaded to Dropbox for us to use as we please. Upon our return, we were given hot towels to freshen up, and hugs (optional, but I like hugs). Whether you're visiting Austin, or you're a seasoned local, if you like being outdoors, you should check them out! Such a memorable afternoon and such fantastic customer service. They're passionate about what they do and it shows.

One draw back to the Veloway is accessibility, if you drive there no problem if you cycle there as I do problem. It will force you to ride down Mopac South to reach the entrance. Used to be able to access the track via the Bowie High parking lot but not anymore! Giant fence has been installed. Still the Veloway is a wonderful resource for our cycling city.

This is the closest trail to where I live, and my husband and I walk on it almost daily. It's a…read moregreat spot to see wild animals. We've seen bunnies, owls, a baby snake, a field mouse, roadrunners, an armadillo and even a coyote on Via Fortuna last week! The trail is blooming with color in the spring. Fellow hikers always say hello, and the total walk time is about 45 minutes to an hour. It's a fun trail for kids, older people or experienced hikers. We've been walking this trail for 3 years and have really fallen in love with it.

I'd say this is moderate as some areas are very rocky, you get your heart rate going but can still keep a conversation. Some areas are heavily wooded and hilly, and other areas are flat with gravel. Little areas of water and tiny waterfalls are pleasant. There is construction going on and you can head that in the distance, but you can still hear the the bears and wildlife area. I definitely want to come back and check out the other trailheads here. Wear some good shoes as it can be slick.

There is a gravel trail but no trailhead. The bluebonnets were amazing. There isn't really a way to get "lost" as you are nestled between neighborhoods, but there are lots of intersecting trails. Bring your phone so you can follow along if needed. I didn't bring water and my dog was getting thirsty so we connected back to the road and found a nice man who gave us water. I will definitely try these trails out again. We saw several people and dogs enjoying the trails as well.

What amazes me even…read moremore is that I've lived in south austin most of my life at this point and I never even knew this was here! A friend and I have been going out on Sunday mornings for walks and we try to find a new hike and bike trail to walk every week. She found this place and we knew quickly that we want to revisit this place. It has everything you want. Easy trails with no elevation or harder trails with moderate hills to get glute work in. It feels like you're a world away when you're inside the trails. We even ran into a small group of 4 or 5 teenage deer! This is just such a special place. Even though we want to try new places, this place is so vast we both agreed that coming back to do more exploring is a must. We were out there about 2 hours and we had a feeling we didn't hit everywhere. The entries to get into the trails isn't always clearly marked (we parked near an entrance but didn't know because it wasn't clearly marked from the outside) but I think that's part of the charm. Once you're in the maze of trails you get to wander and choose your own adventure. Also, it's a busy trail with a lot of people roaming but it never feels crowded. You're also never too far from coming out near a neighborhood so there feels like there's a level of safety. **BUT YOU ARE ON A TRAIL IN WOODS SO OF COURSE YOU NEED TO BE AWARE AND KEEP YOUR SAFETY AS A PRIORITY** We ended up coming out right where our cars were. It's just a slice of natural heaven in a south austin suburb...ENJOY!
