Went up to play golf at chambers bay so stayed near the military base and went here for a nightcap. This place is likely for the military employees predominantly, very casual and friendly. The service was great. We didn't eat anything but not a lot of option. Mostly low shelf liquor, small selection of taps, and a lot of pull tabs. read more

I've been coming to this place for quite some time. I'm not sure what Junior did, but what is coming out of that kitchen is above and beyond most fancy restaurants that I've seen. The shit that I saw tonight working made everything look and put 90% of restaurants that I've seen to shame for a simple bar food. I would highly recommend coming and going to this tavern because it has certainly taken a turn for the better. As a chef for 22 years, I'm really upset with a lot of fucking people that think they got it going on. The club was the most amazing looking club I've ever seen in my life. The burgers looked absolutely fantastic and their prices are on fucking point. I wasn't complete shock! It so I called to see if their menu was larger and it is. I also asked if the food was good. I almost went with the shrimp, but they couldn't find it. So I went with fish and chips. They were pretty terrible and crunchy. The malt vinegar did not penetrate the shell. But it looked like if you were actually there for alcohol, everybody who was, was having a nice time and the staff is nice. Do not order the fish and chips. read more

I came for the pizza!!! Everyone was super nice. Staff and patrons alike. Pool, darts, and pull tabs are available at your leisure. Drinks were good and service was decent. Back to the pizza no luck. Ordered pizza with first round and after 2nd round and about 20 mins I checked on the time for the pizzas and they forgot to get it started and blamed it on the busy nature of the job. There seemed to be 2 people working and about 12 people in the bar. Not sure I would call that busy but I am from out of town and maybe that is busy for the Wednesday night we were there. They apologized and were willing to put the pizza in right away but they had their chance and I was too hungry to wait another 20 minutes...so I jumped in the car and went to McD. Been getting kegs from this tavern for 20 years. They always have a cheap lager keg for sale and on tap. Dicey as hell and small. They have a big parking lot and are right under a flight path. Good place to hang if you are active military or a vet. Pool tables and dart boards give you something to do while drinking. read more

A dive bar known for 3 things. Proximity to JBLM. Kegs to go. Pizza. I went here after golfing and after a couple of beers I went to check on my car in the parking lot because the area is sketchy. I saw a guy smoking and throwing rocks over a fence into an auto wreckers yard. I told him that there is a video camera pointing at us and he should probably stop. His answer, "I work here." So I did what any other guy with a few beers in him would do, I started hucking rocks with him and listening to the sweet sound of windshields shattering. We have purchased 6 kegs or more from this place. At first I loved them but not now. I started to get suspicious when the keg seemed a little lighter for me to pick up and seemed to get finished a little quicker than I thought it should have. It's just me and the wife at home and we have a kegarator. The final straw was the last keg. It was too easy to pick up and finished quick. When I told my wife about my belief that they might be taping the kegs and pouring for thier customers then selling them she didn't believe me. When she saw me pick up a keg and move it into the house from Dick's Brewery she said, wow is it heavier than the last keg we got. My response was all kegs are 15.5 gallons so the weight doesn't change much. She said then we totally got screwed on the last because you didn't have to work that hard to cary it, I belive you now. So if you do decide to buy a keg with Rollies make sure you don't let them take one from thier bar cooler. Each time it happed to me it seamed light. Tgis happened at least 3 times. They have a storage cold storage can out back, make sure it comes from there. When I got those they didn't seem light. read more

Located just outside of McChord Air Force Base, this classic old tavern has everything you'd expect: beer, booze, pub grub, pool, darts, TV... plus a variety of kegs to go. When I stopped by Rollie's recently they had several tasty micros on tap, including Manny's Pale Ale and Alaskan Black IPA (which are two of my favorites!). Feeling peckish but not too hungry, I decided to order a couple of chicken soft tacos to go with the beer. The bartender informed me that one would probably be plenty-- boy, was she right! The single taco I received was more like an entire taco salad, filling the plastic basket it was served in. Delicious, too-- and only $2!! Looking forward to coming back to this place! read more

Great Tavern. Have two pool tables and darts. Went there on a Saturday night and it is not too busy. Mostly an older local crowd. We walked in and actually heard someone ask the waitress if she knew us. We sat down and the waitress came right up to us and got our drink and food order and was very friendly. XD The house Whiskey was Monarch, that was a bit of a shock - Was pretty good though in mixed drinks, prices were ok.. Honestly However this place is pretty small. Had a couple of pool tables, a Music player on the wall - mainly tables and chairs with the bar Taking most of the room. THE WOMENS BATHROOM WAS PATHETIC. If I rated the broke bathroom it would get a half a star! Mostly the place is decorated with pilot propaganda which was ok. Lots of older adults love the place. .. Needed WiFi for young customers and seating for the smoking area out back. Honestly if you go to this place don't expect much beyond a full bar. read more

Best French dip in town! I don't know how good the rest of the menu is because they got me hooked on their French dip! Lots of meat, and the dip is absolutely killer!!! It's got flavor and strength. If you like French dip that has the au ju that you can actually taste and savor, Rollies is the place! Best of all, they don't skimp on the au ju. Even though the reviews were bad, we live so close. Don't. Just don't. We had all the time in the world. We were just chilling. Not the staff. We viewed as a nuisance. My husband had never played pull tabs. I said that I wouldn't mind, but I think SHE WOULD. And SHE DID. When I ordered the onion rings: SHE rolled her eyes. Who does that? When asked if that was a problem she said that someone had called in. Hum.... I'm a professional AND in customer service. When someone calls in, the CUSTOMER should never know or consider it as their problem. The food wasn't horrible or either were the drinks when you finally got them. I felt like I patronized an establishment that had the theme of treating you like a turd. I can get treated like crap anywhere. Anywhere in Spanaway for that matter. What makes this place worth it? This place is raunchy! Went a couple nights ago with several army friends and the waitress thought my ID was fake so what does she do? Shows it to everyone inside the bar to ask if it's real... talk about privacy invasion! I appreciate that you think I look younger than I am (im 27) but that doesn't warrant your behavior. I wasn't even drinking! After our rude encounter with her we discussed leaving and just getting beer from the gas station and going home to drink so what does she do? She goes to the gas station next door, literally walks over there before we did, and tells the guy at the register not to serve us alcohol LOL! Even after she had already been serving my friends their drinks! Anyway, the guy at the register said she was an idiot and he clearly saw that our ID'S were legit but we had no problem spending our money at the 76 station instead. Thanks Rollies! You fail at life! A decent bar that is next to the air force base, so there is much memorabilia of Air Force and pilots and what not. Its one of those neighborhood type bars, where everyone knows everyone. Stopped by here on a whim. Not our first visit but could likely be our last. Don't get me wrong, the vibe there is cool, but if you aren't one of the locals, you'll probably not get good service. Food was good--took quite awhile to arrive, but in their defense, the bartender was also the cool. We arrived later in the afternoon on a Saturday. Not too many people there, maybe three groups of people. Waitress didn't offer us menus when she did make her way to our table. I asked if they were serving food (was what we came in for) so she went and grabbed us menus. My boyfriend ordered a beer, I ordered water. And that one glass of water was the ONLY one I got in the two hours we were there. Food was terrific but they'd never know that because they never came back to our table. We sat there people watching. It was very clear that it was full of regulars. They all seemed to know each other. Eventually we had to flag the waitress down and ask to have have our check. On our way out, the owner (we figured that out by everyone calling him Rollie) told us to have a nice day. Sad to me because it has potential. The place was filling up and getting more busy by the time we left, but still no excuse for poor customer service. read more
