Visited Steilacoom Pub and Grill based on a $5 coupon served up by T-Mobile for their Dining Advantage by Entertainment program. When ordering I mentioned the coupon to the cashier. The cashier didn't seem to be aware of the program and asked the bar manager over. The bartender indicated they did not participate in these programs and that these charity affiliate programs steal their logo for these offers. Needless to say, they would not honor the coupon. The clientele is very local on a Tuesday afternoon, with a number of groups enjoying the two pool tables. We ordered the chicken sandwich, crispy, which came with sautéd onions, lettuce and tomato. The sandwich came with a generous portion of fries. The meal was good and the atmosphere lively. However, the low mark recognizes a laughable reason to deny a customer a valid discount. read more

The food is WAY over priced. It's sad because I'm actually a local, and I really want to be able to support this place, but for the food you get, it's a rip off. You could fetch a better burger from Lakewood McDonald's if I'm being honest. Steilacoom pub and grill is just NOT it. It's greasy, as if they don't change their fryer oil. The service was mediocre, didn't feel welcomed even when I'm a resident in the neighborhood. Just over all- a horrible experience in a beautiful town. Such a waste of a space. You mind as well go up the street and grab a bite from topside (when they return to business) way better service and food. read more

The food was excellent. We had great tasting and well fried JoJos with awesome bacon on top. The chicken quesadilla was flavorful and not greasy. The brownie Sunday was fantastic. 4 stars because the wait for the food was very, very long without any communication about it. The ambiance is about what you expect for a pub. read more

Stopped here for a quick lunch after walking around Chambers Bay. We had the jalapeño poppers and an Italian Sub with fries. Our food took quite a long time to get even though it wasn't very busy. The poppers were standard pub food and good. The Italian Sub was served with Italian dressing on the side which was nice. The sandwich was okay. Fries were pretty standard pub fries. We sat outside as it was pretty loud inside. They have a pretty good beer list, with a few local craft beers. The cashier who we ordered with was a very nice person, but he was very quiet a but hard to understand over the music and loudness of the bar. I sure he finds his voice. I rarely post reviews but felt compelled to share our experience. The food and service were really good. We had a party of 6 that took quite awhile to determine everyone's order which resulted in multiple counter trips but the service was friendly and the actual food was very tasty. I visited this place midweek in the early afternoon during heavy local power outages and received excellent service and a great cheeseburger and drinks despite it being unusually busy with only one high energy beautiful bartender/server/cook doing it all. I was in Steilacoom recently with some time to kill and work to do - it was midday, so naturally I headed to a dive bar rather than a coffee shop. That's normal, right? I wasn't sure what kind of vibe to expect, but it's a true dive bar! Although, it's laid out pretty interesting. The front of the large room (it's just one giant room) is meant as the seating area and I think that minors are allowed in this section. There's also outdoor seating. Tables were good size and there were outlets nearby for my laptop, so it checked the boxes for me. Beyond that is the bar area with a pool table, large TVs, a Touch Tunes machine, and pull tabs. There might be more in the way of bar games, but I didn't look around too much. I grabbed some lunch while I was here as well - I went with the Italian Sub. If there's an Italian Sub on the menu, chances are I'm getting it. It was a great size and I chose a garden salad as my side. Not sure what ranch they use, but it's good! The Italian Sub was also pretty tasty. No-frills type of sandwich, piled with pepperoni, salami, lettuce, etc. They also douse it in Italian dressing so if you're not a fan of messy hands, be warned! A ton of dressing spilled out so if I had set the sandwich down it would've gotten all soggy, so I ate the first half without setting it down LOL. The service here was also really kind and quick. Great selection of local beers, seltzers, and ciders. I don't think there's too many other bar & grills in this area, so this little neighborhood spot is a great choice! read more

While we received great service and we enjoyed the lovely outdoor view of the Sound, this was probably the most expensive pub food we've ever had. We had a sandwich (and fries), a burger (and fries), a kids meal, and a beer. The bill was around $60, but of course we're also in Washington. While my kid and I really enjoyed our meals, my husband said his sandwich was the worst Reuben he's ever had so maybe don't order that one if you're really into the Reuben. There are other good options. Guinness on tap is always a win read more

The food here used to be good. Past few times lack luster. First was forge sandwich. Plenty of filling however the bread was dry and fell apart as we were eating. Tacos - meat lacked flavor. Good price for 3 on Tuesdays but flavor is lacking. Needs a good scrubbing in the corners under tables and chairs. Didn't go to the restroom. Repair torn upholstery. Service ok. Servers are very kind and friendly. I loved the atmosphere. It's always jam packed but we could get in today. I loved fish and chips. Very moist inside and crispy soft outside. Wish we could sit outside but outside seats are an hour wait. read more

The bartender, Brandon, was excellent, provided super service. The hamburger and fries we ordered where great, very tasty. it's located close to the sound in Steilacoom. Has outdoor seating which is nice. Nice place to get together for music, a game of pool or just meeting up with friends. Prices are pretty affordable too. The owner sam sucks. He jacks up the prices and uses cheapo ingredients. Most of the food is made from things I could go buy at my local grocery store. The main cook LUCKY hardly wears gloves and is always on the phone. There has been several times where the person working the register doesnt even speak english, but other people on staff do (WHY PUT THEM ON THE REGISTER). There are flies everywhere in the summer. You have to cover your drink if you dont want a fly in it. With the menu in mind you can tell that the owners dont care about this place and it shows by how popular it is. Just because you are making less money from the place doesnt mean you can jack up the prices. LOWKEY I THINK THIS PLACE IS A FRONT FOR A laundering scheme. read more

We were out for a long Sunday drive. Stopped here to eat something. I had a BLT and sm clam chowda. Very good on both! Hit the spot. Bf had the mushroom burger n fries. Burger was good.. fries were cold. They did offer me a mask since I forgot mine. Although food was good and most folks were sitting outside ( we did) I did NOT see anyone wiping any of the tables after folks left. Understaffed maybe? So we left our plates on the table... maybe they will clean then. Ya wasn't happy bout the dirty tables. read more

I stopped in for some food, catch a bit of the game and a beers while I wait. I ordered my food and tried to explain to keep my tab open but the lady working wouldn't let me. I got my beer and was waiting to get another since it was taking a bit. The guy I guess who was cooking the food was too busy to notice he burned some food, or to know I was trying to order another beer. I had to go to the front any time I wanted anything. Since I had a hard time ordering a beer I didn't think it'd take too long to get my food. Then it got to about 30min. So I ordered another beer, girl told me it's on its way out 6 min. Well 10 min later I go to the front to ask about my food. "Just a couple minutes, almost done". I saw the guy bullshitting with another working on a pizza that looked very uncooked. Well turns out they burned my first pizza, decided not to tell me. The guy sees me impatient. Starts joking with me about how long it's taking, like joking around is going to make a justifiable excuse for a 45 min wait. In the end it was easily the worst pizza I've ever had, I ate one slice and tossed it. One photo is of when I got it home. The other was about 40 min later. It also cost me $16. I don't know what these 2-3 star reviews are all about, probably from stuck up yuppies who live in the area but as a millennial from Tacoma; the prices and vibe here are worth the drive over. Fish and chips were SO good and I've had my fair share of overpriced fish and chips. I'm serious this place doesn't have the stars it deserves. I will be back and I will be recommending to friends. I was going to purchase pull tabs, but was told she couldn't help me until she made sure their was no more drink orders. Their was ten customers and I waited 33 minutes for service. Truth be told--I love this place. I love a good dive bar. I love a place that has lots of beers on tap. And I love a place where the food is 100% as you would expect it. This is a dive bar--but it misses the mark on a few fronts. First off, the pricing is a little wonky--not on most items, but in a few. I come here to get the Garlic Parmesan Wings. They're the best here. They're legitimately the main reason I keep coming back. They're the right amount of crispy + the right amount of garlic + the right amount of parmesan. And they're priced pretty well ($12.99 at the time of this posting). That said--the fries are the right amount of crispy and the right size. But--and this is a BIG but--they taste like fish. The frying oil has clearly not been changed over recently. While I love a good plate of fish and chips, I don't come here for fish and chips. So for the fries to *taste like* fish is a problem. ALSO--a moderately sized basket of fries is SUPER overpriced ($10.99 at the time of this posting). Overpriced to begin with--DEFINITELY overpriced when they taste like fish. Don't bother with the sandwiches--they're made with poor quality deli meat that I could probably get on clearance at the Gross Out (GROCery OUTlet bargain market, for those who do not yet use the nickname). The burgers I have had have tasted great--but the patties are pre-made and likely packaged frozen. So--for all of those negatives, I have to say: --the staff and service are both spectacular, --there are a few pool tables, and --there is karaoke/trivia on Friday nights. I will continue to come around--but I will likely grab a pitcher and avoid most of the food. read more

Was a nice day to try a new place. This place is a smaller than I thought. There's limited parking but you can park on the street near by. Lots of regular locals seem to enjoy their pool games here, they were enjoying their time. We were greeted right away when we walked in and given menus, the staff was very friendly. You have to order inside and they will take your order to your table. There's an option to sit outside or inside. Kids can also sit inside but aren't allowed by the bar and pool area. We decided to eat outside since it was a nice day. We ordered the special of the day which was two crispy tacos with rice and beans. 1 cheese burger and one Pub burger with bacon and fries. I ordered My Gosha Foccacia with sundried tomato bread sandwich that came with a choice of chips, salad or soup. I ordered the potatoe bacon soup. Due to the road the outside sitting is a bit challenging. The tables and benches are slightly slanted but we managed just fine. Things were a little dirty and could use a bit of cleaning. I know with our rainy weather it's probably hard to keep up but it would make it more presentable. The inside needs a little tlc but still a little cut historical place. The cheeseburgers were great, well cooked. The fries are delicious and crispy. My Sandwich was delicious and the soup was tasty. The only thing that wasn't tasty was the rice, beans and taco meat. The rice had lots of spices and not very tasty. The beans were very bland, not a pleasant taste and the taco meat had way too much taco seasoning. The taco plate was also a bit cold. We will be stopping by sometime to try their ice cream. They seemed to have good variety to choose from. read more
