- AKT Sandy Springs: 5/5 (1/8/23) Again, instagram…read morepresented me with another fun workout trial at my local AKT. I was captivated by the high-energy add that demonstrated young women jumping about a studio with resistance bands hanging from the ceiling! I had never seen a workout like that. I loved the idea of trying something new, especially one which utilized equipment ( resistance bands) in a fun and creative way! I felt like I was about to channel my inner child! Day of, I was pretty pumped. I love how ALT took time to create a newcomers class that incorporates snippets of each class they offer. It was a great way for all the newcomers to feel welcome and less intemidated by the regulars, and made for great interaction. Brooke was so sweet and helpful from day one signing up! Overall, such a great workout! The workout consisted of four different components. Michelle, the instructor, came with SO MUCH AMAZING ENERGY! If you love dance and good music/ vibes AKT is your place! Super cute studio with trendy workout gear displayed in the front area. Super tempting! They offer a wide variety of membership and "dip your toes in" packaging! For me personally, I don't love the high impact from all the jumping, and Im not a natural dancer so matching the beat and the instructor was a bit frustrating at time. Definitely smiled through it though! Could see this being a FUN party event for birthdays and such. Definitely check them out and tell them Alexis sent you!

I've taken 2 classes here: BANDS with Lauren and TONE with Oksana…read more BANDS was too much cardio for me -- I thought it would be more focused on strength training, but it was predominantly cardio WITH bands. It was also too fast for me to keep up, and we changed moves so often I was lost sometimes. Lauren had great energy and was very friendly. TONE is strictly strength training, which I appreciate. Oksana was a good instructor too. She clearly explained all moves, and demonstrated everything. If I had to find something to critique, it would be that she kept saying "you know what's coming next" and I didn't.. it was only my second class here and my first of this type. The studio and equipment is clean and updated. The music is a bit too loud. There is a retail space next to the front desk. The front desk staff has been super nice both times! I wish they had TONE classes in some of the the early morning slots on weekdays (the first class of the day) It seems they only do these later in the day when I'm working, and TONE is the only class I'm interested in.

Since joining Fit to Be, my outlook on working out has improved drastically!!! I love coming to the…read moreclasses and the instructors are all knowledgeable, encouraging and upbeat. I tried Pure Barre for about 3 months, but was seeking variety in my workouts. F2B offers that with a plethora of classes and times! My body (and mind) have been challenged and I love seeing how my strength improves each class. If you're looking for a small studio with great vibes, definitely come check this studio out. You will not regret it!

Let me join the growing chorus of devotees of the intimate yet challenging classes offered at Fit…read moreto Be. First, the logistics. Fit to Be is located in the same building and on the same level as American Roadhouse. There's plenty of parking in the lot behind the building, and the studio has a small lobby area to wait in before classes start. They have a single room for classes, but it has a sliding barn door in the back, making it possible to conduct private training sessions at the same time a larger class is going on. Other reviews note that classes are capped at 15, but I've never had more than twelve. I have yet to take a class with Julie (the owner, acclaimed in many other reviews), but that's because I'm such a huge fan of Bryn's Ballerobica class at 9am on Saturdays. Barre or ballet-inpsired classes are a dime a dozen these days, but Ballerobica is the best I've found. It adds an aerobic element to the standard core exercises, so you feel like you've gotten a much bigger calorie burn. Plus, Bryn is a phenomenal teacher- she pushes without yelling and she is continually upbeat without being fake. Everyone -from students to teachers - seems genuinely glad to be there. I leave class feeling upbeat (and sweaty) which is exactly what I'm looking for. Though I discovered Fit to Be through Classpass (which is awesome, by the way), these are classes I might actually pay extra to be able to attend more of them than the three per month Classpass limits you to. At just $15 for one drop in class (and packages that go down in cost from there), Fit to Be is also one of the more reasonable gyms I've found. I can't wait to try more classes, because Fit to Be is certainly as good as it gets!

I've attended 2 water aerobics classes during my current pregnancy and I have had a blast each…read moretime. I've spoken to the owner over the phone who was really friendly and supportive and the trainer, Charnel is wonderful. Class always starts on time and she keeps us very active. She times our different exercises and motivates us to keep going and at the same time she talks with us about our pregnancy and tells us about her experiences as well. All of the ladies in the class are friendly as well. We do so many different water activities that the hour goes by super fast. I'm going to keep at it until the doc says no. They host the class at different locations and on different days. You have the option to pay for each class (online before hand) or pay for the entire session which covers I think 4 classes. If you pay per class like me you will only pay $17. I can't commit to a full session so I pay per class. They also let you make up classes but only if you pay for the full session.

So far, we've tried the Mom and Baby Yoga and the H2Oh Baby classes. I love the flexible class policy - if you sign up for a session of Yoga, you can skip yoga one week and try out a different class. It's a great way to meet other parents, to work off the jiggle postpartum belly, and...hello photo ops (especially for the H2Oh baby classes - picture adorable babies in floats all bumping into each other and smiling in the pool. Too cute for words!). You can even bring a friend, partner, or grandparent to class with you for no extra cost. And with the 10% discount offered to repeat customers, each class comes to a grand total of $13.50 - about the cost of lunch. And BabyRoX takes the loooongest naps after class, too. At 4 months postpartum, I'm now just 10 lbs from my goal weight, my baby is getting used to swimming, I get my Zen on with the yoga, and we both get awesome naps. And I have some ridiculously cute photos of my sweet boy in the pool with his new baby friends. Totally recommend this to other parents and parents-to-be!
