horrible service horrible restaurant.. AND THEY HAVE RATS. We made a reservation for Roka Hula for the space and menu almost 2 weeks in advance.. We get to the restaurant and they tell us Roka Hula is closed and NEVER called us before to inform us, but offered to seat us in their main other restaurant which has a whole different menu.. When we asked why one of the Hostesses was honest with us and told us it was because they got a health code violation 2 days ago and got shut because they got rats.. But then offered for us to stay in the CONNECTED restaurant.. Disgusting.. They gave us no prior warning of this situation even tho they admitted it occurred 2 days prior to our reservation and it was a whole issue because we had to put a card down. They handled the situation HORRIBLY and their manager and all staff were extremely disrespectful and not helpful at all. Horrible experience 0/10.. Never come here. read more

I loved the ambiance of this Tiki bar. Setup like a speakeasy Roma Hula will transport you to a magical place of cheetah print, hanging gardens, and island vibes. The drinks are stunning and a beautiful blend of liquors and island flavors, but the flare for the theatrical definitely sets them apart. Our service was excellent, and the whole staff was very attentive. My four stars are really for the food selection; it is minimal and more like small snacks and small sushi, so I'd recommend this place for a date pre-show or after-party vibe because the drinks and vibes are everything! read more

Had a fun date night from the secret entrance to the cozy Tiki room. Drinks were top-notch great presentation fun fun . Several other diners were having the tea which looked amazing . When this server poured the tea, it looked like smoke was billowing out of the cup, probably dry ice, but it gave such a cool effect. . The food was good. I especially liked the dumplings. The sushi was good, but I prefer Seito . All that being said, it was a fun night presentation above and beyond. Wow! The drinks are amazing!! A little pricey, but they taste great and worth it. The service is great as well. They didn't lemonade but I was wanting a gin/lemonade and the bartender made her own for me. Needless to say, most places would've just said no but she went above and beyond. The rotating platform entryway was also a really cool idea, and gave it more of a hidden, speakeasy feel. The drinks were amazing, and had such cool presentations and dishware. It was such a amazing, enchanting and well put together restaurant from the moment I walked in- that was accompanied with a gasp of how beautiful it was once I was walked in by the Host. This was for my bday and even though I did not get a table, we were so blessed to get 2 seats at the bar which made the experience oh so much better- the bartenders were REAL bartenders- they knew their drinks & very knowledgeable and the presentation of the drinks were so fun and refreshing- it had a mixologist feel-- that was appreciated! The ambience was remarkable and so enchanting- Magical indoor garden w a touch of darkness. I could not stop looking at the detailing- The food was good and no complaints on taste- their sauce for the dumplings was amazing- MMMHMMM.. My hubs and I LOVED Roka Hula! We came to this speakeasy first before the actual restaurant "Voodoo Bayou"! Kori B was our server and she was so helpful and genuine with her recommendations. We had the drinks: Dead-Lee, El Narco, Banana Old Fashioned, Boneshaker Boba, Bump & Grind, Branca Colada, and Demon Lover. We loved them all, all in house syrups so the sugar in any of them were all smooth and okay with my stomach! For food we had the Hibachi Wagyu Bites, Truffle Parmesan Edamame (my personal FAVE because of the savory goodness), and the Maine Lobster sushi roll. For dessert we shared the Balls of Glory! My take was if you been to Hawaii, it's like a mini Malasada doughnut with a hazelnut chocolate dip. It was all so delicious! In fact we enjoyed our time here so much we bought a membership to come back more to our local spot now! Thank you Kori for being an amazing server for our first time! The place is nice and all but way too expensive. The Old Fashioned was $22. Come on now. That's absurd. The drink isn't worth more than $13-14 anywhere else you go. Plus the auto gratuity on top of that and you are paying almost $30 for a single drink. In what world is that okay? We aren't talking about some fancy cocktail either, it's just a regular drink that is about twice what it should cost. That means the server gets $4 for an automatic tip too for making a single cocktail. It takes less than 5 minutes to make a drink so you want me to pay $1 a minute or the equivalent of $60 per hour so someone can pour 3-4 ingredients in a glass and either stir it up or shake it? Waste your money here if you want, but I'm done being ripped off and taken advantage of. read more

Went in for an early dinner tonight (Tuesday at 5:30) with some coworkers. We had looked at the menu a few days before and wanted to sit, order dinner, eat and leave. We walk in the side entry (by Voodoo hostess) and she tells us they are full and it's reservations only, we say we want to check it out and will sit at bar, she says there are some open seats at bar otherwise it's "standing room only." So we walk in and it's EMPTY! Literally 1 table has 3 people sitting and 5 people at the bar. I thought it was a joke. I thought maybe there was a hidden camera. Anyhow we ended up eating at Voodoo. Since there was not 4 seats together at bar. After our dinner (8:00pm) I peeked in again and still 4 tables EMPTY. I guess the servers don't like making money. Stop acting like it's this exclusive, grand place. It's not! It's a JOKE. And after reading the reviews about the food I'm glad we didn't eat there! Food was excellent, atmosphere was spectacular. If you go looking to fill up and not spend a bundle this isn't the place. It's great for a special night out. Portions were pretty small, but you pay for the experience. Service was great. We were in and out fast. I felt a bit rushed and when you spend that kind of money you want to stick around a bit--but we were done. We had one beer and one vodka. No special drink but they looked amazing. We had 3 small plates between us. Buns were amazing. Sushi was good but very small portions to share. Think tapas style.Would I go back? Maybe but I will eat a snack before I go.
