Greg called us in about an hour from when we hung up with the insurance company and said he was on the way to our location. Greg came in and was willing to listen to what we had done so far and asked questions. He was concerned about keeping the house clean while he was here. After he determine what and where the issue was he quickly fixed the problem. He was very professional and was focused on getting the problem solved ASAP. Turns out that in order to access the broken pipe he had to cut into the wall. He did a great job on cleaning up the mess afterwards. The drywall repair is not part of the insurance package so he left a great rough patch for us to fill and paint. After the work was complete he was willing to share some things about the plumbing system in this house that could be potential problems in the future. This problem was known by us due to other neighbors having similar issues. He was not telling us this to create additional work for himself but as advice for the future. Greg was assigned to my service request and did arrive on time. However, his overall demeanor was unfriendly and unprofessional, especially for someone in a customer-facing role. Shortly after he arrived, my daughter experienced a sudden medical emergency--a seizure, her first ever. I was in the next room calling 911 while emergency responders arrived. It was an extremely stressful and urgent situation. I have no doubt he could hear me screaming her name and calling emergency services. About 10 paramedics came stomping down my short hallway. It was quite the commotion. Before leaving with my daughter in the ambulance, I briefly let Greg know he could continue the work if needed. His response was: "Make sure your dogs are locked up. I don't want to be bit." My dogs were locked up when he arrived and he knew that. Given the circumstances, this felt incredibly lacking in awareness and basic human empathy. I understand safety concerns, but the timing and delivery of that comment were inappropriate. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience stood out for all the wrong reasons and this guy shouldn't be entering any one's home.

I asked about a coloring and he said that it doesn't do well. Then he said it would turn white. After they took out the old concrete they found what they thought was a good base material in place. They we're supposed to remove it and put in gravel. They left the old in. When I asked what the discount would be he said he would give me $150 off for the gravel. Nothing for the labor they didn't have to do. After the pour they started making the contraction lines. One of the guys who seemed most experienced said there should be lines where the concrete turned. The Forman agreed but said it would be too hard. Well sure enough a week later cracks appeared at those locations. When they where done the Forman said they used too much water. A couple weeks later I call Travis to come see the cracks. He said concrete cracks. Then I told him that the Forman said they used too much water and it would take longer to cure. Travis said you can't use too much water. This of coarse is the leading cause of concrete failure and he said it might take a year to cure. Then as the concrete started to to cure black blotches started showing up. These I learned later were from slopping on a drying agent instead of spraying. Then the crazing a the brown broom marks because the broom was in the mud. In my opinion these guys didn't do a good job and all Travis could say is sorry you didn't like the job we did. $16600. And it might not last long.

When we received nothing by the following Thursday, 2 days after we expected his quote, I left a message to please let us know status. He did not return our call. I left him 2 subsequent messages over 2 weeks, asking what is going on, but he did not bother to respond. In the last message, I asked him that if he no longer wants to bid the job, he could at least simply have the decency and professional courtesy to let us know. That was almost a week ago. AND STILL HE HAS NEVER CONTACTED US AFTER WASTING SO MUCH OF OUR TIME! This is a rather stark indication of the true character, or lack thereof, of this individual and what you can expect if you engage him. We strongly recommend you go somewhere else. Lord knows what may have occurred if we had given a deposit and hired someone such as this who demonstrates such an incredible lack of respect for others! We are in Grants Pass, NOT NEVADA. And once the rains started we accrued significant damage and cost to both the outside and the inside of our home including mold damage and total inside ceiling needing repair now (Pix included). The owner told us yesterday in person that they would fix it. Now today he writes saying that he won't. Sadly this is just really bad business and very costly mistakes on their part that is left for us to pick up their improper work. I warn anyone to look around for other options and businesses before moving ahead with Rougue Valley Roofing. They do not stand behind their work and they do not behave professionally. What a mess. We interviewed and met with more than 10 contractors and got a number of bids. Frankly, we were getting worried. Many of the contractors in this area are just flaky! They don't call you back, they don't show up when you make an appointment to meet, and in general they don't do what they say they will do. Later, when we compared several bids side by side, we found a few had proposed inflated bids. There were other contractors that were skilled with a hammer and offered competitive pricing, but seriously lacked other skills, like listening, communication and customer service. We had a huge project and questions and concerns. We needed a highly skilled contractor for the variety of tasks, good communication, someone who listened, cared about our situation, was easy to talk too and not a flake. Thankfully we found Matlock Construction Services. It was a lot of work and took nearly a month to complete the needed repairs and renovations. Now the project is done and we are thrilled!
