Rick Handley of Handley roofing gaveme a quote for a ridge cap and flashing, I was told I needed flashing. He was referred to me by his friend, a handyman who lost his license. Before I had time to get one or two estimates, or find out what flashing was, I came home to find Rick's crew had already come and gone. I turned down my street, and saw this hideous, eye sore, brown flashing attached to my roof hanging down on my patio cover, blocking my bathroom window. The house has been here 20+years, maintained no problems but Rick insisted it need flashing for the wind into Talent. No sooner were my neighbors complaining about the trashy flashing, the wind blew. We already established Rick knows wind blows in the world but, the first wind blew my roof partially off. I called Rick to tell him my roof was blowing off, his response was, "HE DOESN'T COVER NATURAL DISASTERS!? I told him, I'm the only one who had a natural disaster and there isn't a house on my street with their roof blowing off. He told me, call your insurance company. HIS 10 WARRANTY IS AS WORTHLESS AS HIS WORD. He quoted me a ridiculously high price to repair his work, so naturally I hired someone else, incase the wind blew again, I wouldn't have to keep paying Rick..The new roofing company took pictures which I emailed to Rick, showing him what his workers did. They nailed in the material so hard, it went thru the material and tore off my roof and 3/4's of my new ridge cap off. All that was left were the nail heads. Rick, would not respond, return calls, so the only course of action is court. I hold a 10yrs warranty, pictures, explanations and a cashed check. Rick would not treat a man this way, he seems to bully women. Oh and I have to pay again for the hideous flashing removal and painting again underneath. Wish the wind blew that off! read more
