I bought my first grand piano 4 months ago at Roger's. I am an intermediate player and after 15 years without piano since I moved around a lot, I finally decided to get a piano preferably a baby grand. The only problem is there is no easy access point to get the piano into our house and I was planning to settle with upright if need be. I actually stopped by Roger's on an impulse after dropped off my daughter at her friend's birthday party and I only have about 30 min before I had to pick her up. I met Roger and he asked me a number of questions to understand what I am looking for. I told him that I am open for either used or new piano but my big concern is whether I can get baby grand into the house and the fact that I only have about 30 min then. He listened and understood what I need, we tried some piano then talk about the accessibility issue at the house. He told me that he could stop by at our house to see the accessibility issue. I left the shop to pick up my girl without feeling any pressure from him. The next morning (Sunday) he called and stopped by at our house, we discussed and he agreed that it may be a tight fit for a baby grand but he will have his moving company come and check it out. Couple days later the moving company came and after measuring all the access, they let me know that I can have a baby grand but no larger than 5' long. All this happened within 5 days and at no cost to us whatsoever. Equipped with options, I went back to Roger's. I am very particular about the sounds of piano I like, I didn't like any of the used piano he has, finally found one that I like which is a brand new baby grand and more expensive than my budget. I discussed with Roger's a little about the price since I am willing to wait another year just to save up some more money rather than buy a cheaper upright and trade-in at 100% value the next year because I don't want to deal with moving piano multiple time. He gave me quite good discount and even though it did not match my budget but I believe is a reasonable final price so I met him at the price he offered. I think piano price is subjective, if both parties are happy then that's the perfect price it may not be the lowest you see from internet (believe me I did my research, but to me I am very happy with the price and service I received). Also after I got my piano delivery for couple months, I got a called from Carol to schedule the piano tuning that was included in the price (I need to acclimate the piano in the house a while before doing this). They followed through with the promise and I didn't even have to lift a phone to initiate the call. This is a professional courtesy and what makes me a customer for life. read more

I did a lot of shopping on line and also went to a few additional dealers looking at both new and used pianos. I was very close to purchasing a used Steinway M 1980 that had been recommended by my long time piano technician. Roger is very knowledgeable and took over an hour to review the fine inner working of the piano from the components out. He played and allowed me to play many of the pianos in his show room and we eventually focused in on a Heintzman 5'6" model 168 which was in the area of what I was ready to spend. Roger's technicians had done some amazing work getting this pianos balanced key wait to an amazing point and it was just a pleasure to play. The touch and tone were perfect for what I was looking for in my piano. Not being very familiar with the name I started my additional on line research on the Heintzman website and moved from there into blogs, Piano Buying Guides, etc. And finally to the point of emailing Judith Cohen who is a world renowned pianist. I had found a review from her on a different Heintzman model and wanted to get a personal opinion. She emailed me back and said that she felt that the Heintzman was a very good piano and this was prior to all of the additional great work that Roger and his technicians perform on each machine to really tune it in. Next I brought my 14 year old daughter in to play the piano and once she played her first chord I could tell by her smile that this was the piano we were taking home. Finally I brought my piano tech in the go through the piano and with his approval or a very quality piece, I was ready to purchase. Entirely satisfied with the purchase thus far. We had the piano delivered at 1:00 in the afternoon on a Sunday and played for a solid 6 hours straight. Pieces that we had a difficult time playing on our old piano were effortlessly played on the Heintzman. The pricing was tremendous compared to some other models out there that I do not feel had the quality of our new Heintzman .Roger made the process far less stressful than I thought and truly gave me a appreciation of the piano as an instrument as well as an investment. After visiting Roger's store I felt no need to go anywhere else. Roger 's intimate familiarity with both his store brands and all other major brands was a major factor influencing my decision to purchase from him. I was particularly impressed with his knowledge of and familiarity with the Heintzman parlor grand model that he recommended and I purchased. In conjunction with the selection of an appropriate size model for the piano room at my house Roger visited with a paper piano format to allow me to see how much room it would require in various spots in my living room. The other major selling point for me was Roger's ability to personally construct the Piano Force player system which he developed for my piano. It allows me to play from a computer hard drive library, CD's and a dedicated internet radio station via wi-fi. I am thrilled with the player system. I am as satisfied with this purchase as with anything I have ever purchased in my life. I also feel that if there is an issue of concern on my part that it would be rectified to my complete satisfaction. I believe that I received all the information I needed to know whether I could be comfortable purchasing there or whether I would need to do some additional comparison shopping. I felt that I needed to be completely comfortable with the people I was purchasing from because this is such a major purchase and I have no experience with pianos and do not play. I had a great experience at Roger's piano. I went in several times - first with my husband to collect some general information about options and pricing, and then again with my dad a little later on in the decision-making process. During the first visit, we found Roger to be warm, welcoming, and extremely knowledgable. When I told him what I was looking for and what my budget was, he showed me several pianos that matched my needs. Roger spent probably an hour with me and my husband, playing each piano with us, pointing out the various features of each, and talking to us about the differences between them (design, materials used, etc). He did not pressure us to buy anything, but simply provided information. If he was annoyed with our many questions, he certainly did not let on! He was just as patient and helpful during my second visit, in spite of the fact that my budget was relatively low and he had already spent a good deal of time helping me out. In the end, I couldn't be happier with the piano I chose. It fits my needs and budget exactly, it's a beautiful instrument, and, after doing a good deal of research on piano pricing, I feel confident that Roger gave me a great deal on it. Carol and Roger provided us with a perfect experience. We have always been in places where we've had a piano (growing up, in school, in condo buildings, etc.), but we recently moved to a house and, with a young son, decided it was time to buy our first piano. We weren't sure what piano would be best for us, and during our first visit, Carol gave us an excellent tutorial on pianos without any pressure to buy. We were also thinking about a piano with the latest technology (ability to play itself, record, mute, etc.), and they were completely up-to-date on all of the newest options. Beyond being knowledgeable, they were also very friendly--both to us and our son. After that initial visit, we investigated a number of options online, and Roger's Piano prices seemed as good or better than anything we found elsewhere. We went back in for a second visit, and we happened to meet the Yamaha sales representative at that time. Thanks to some help from the Yamaha representative, we decided on a new Disklavier E3, and we got what we believe was an excellent price on it. I was in the market for a baby grand and had been looking for some time. I feel very fortunate that I took the trouble to drive to Roger's Piano in Natick. The showroom is on two floors with an abundance of uprights and grands in every price range. On my first trip there, Carol and Roger took about 3 hours with me, listening attentively to what I was looking for, and then showing me and letting me play a great variety of instruments. I never felt pressured and was given time to play as long as I wanted to narrow down my choices. I truly felt that their primary interest was to find the perfect piano for me. Roger also took the time to explain in detail all the extra work they do to fine-tune the action on the pianos, and you can really tell when you play them. The passion and pride in his work is obvious. When I finally settled on a piano, Roger gave me a good deal. Everything was clearly explained and printed out on the bill before I signed off. When I returned a few days later to drop off the check, Roger introduced me to his long-time technician, who was working on one of the keyboards. Once again, he showed me all the impressive fine-tuning they do to the action. All in all, Carol and Roger's professionalism and customer service are outstanding. A great 'hands-on' piano store with an extensive selection of instruments from which to choose appealing to the basic or to the very discerning buyer. We purchased a rare Hamburg Steinway Model B from Roger and Carol and took delivery just before the holiday season. Roger's Piano is one of very few elite piano dealers in the US that specialize in having Hamburg (European variant) Steinway models in their active inventory as Steinway and most piano dealers only sell New York based models domestically. The differences are remarkable and well worth the extra $$$ for the Hamburgs! Anyway, back to the store review... We found the sale / purchase / delivery / installation and setup processes to be highly professional and flawless. We visited twice and played on several pianos before making our decision. Roger and Carol are both very nice and professional in their demeanor and execution of their individual tasks with a strong focus on providing high end customer service and follow through. Roger's strengths are rooted in his expertise with the technical/engineering details whereas Carol finalizes the business details that complete the deal, scheduling and execution. I've been wanting to buy a digital piano for a long time, since I don't have room for an acoustic. And this crazy winter finally drove me to do it. We drove to Roger's on the first sunny Saturday in ages, and were greeted warmly by Carol. We explained what we wanted and she showed us several pianos that fit the description. She carefully explained the differences in the mechanisms, each piano's different features, and the warranties they come with, and she was very patient as we went back and forth trying them all out. Roger's has a huge inventory, and Carol directed us through it expertly. We decided to think over our options for a few days, and after leaving we realized that we had more questions. I emailed Carol several times to ask her all my questions and she responded promptly and with all the information I needed. We finally decided on the Yamaha NU1, and we went back the next Saturday to buy it. She was able to arrange delivery within a few days (they use Boston Piano Movers.) The delivery guys came an hour before they said they would be here! The whole experience was really great, and I absolutely love my NU1. If I ever have the space and money for an acoustic piano, I will definitely go back to Roger's. read more

I was recently inspired to take up piano again after not having played much for ~15 years. I visited Roger's Piano a couple weeks ago to look for a new piano after seeing their many excellent reviews and the vast inventory on their website and left the store a happy customer (having purchased a new Kawai K-300). Roger listened attentively to my needs and suggested a few different pianos for me to try (and gave me plenty of time and space to do so and to ponder by myself, without any sales pressure). I had been looking for a hybrid piano or one that could be silenced in a smaller footprint with realistic keyboard action for a while. Exhausted and discouraged after visiting several showrooms (and trying many of the obvious choices), I finally came to Roger's Piano. Much to my surprise, after listening to what I was looking for, they (Roger) steered me to a Kawai model, which I had not tried out, and I ended up purchasing that day. What I appreciate about the help I got at Roger's Piano is that they really tried to listen to what I was looking for. I felt like they really cared about music and fulfilling the needs about the musician (or student) without any pressure. I dread walking into showrooms and have people descend on you like a used car salesperson. We needed a second piano for a residence we were establishing. They went through the extra steps of securing one as quickly as possible (this model was scarce) and have it delivered and installed to our home across the country. When it was time to upgrade my son's instrument, I was dreading the experience as buying a piano is notoriously stressful. What type? Size? Price range? Sound? Our piano teacher's recommendation differed greatly from the recommendation of our piano tuner and friends. It wasn't going to be an easy process... I am so pleased to say I was wrong. Our family is so happy that we found Roger's Piano and with Roger and Carol's help bought a beautiful baby grand with a majestic sound. As other reviews state, Carol is very professional and knowledgeable and takes the stress out of this process in entirety. I had an excellent experience with Roger's piano. We recently moved to Boston from Michigan. During the move, my Schimmel upright piano was badly damaged by the moving company. Luckily, I found Roger's site online. He was just excellent in offering his help and advice. He returned my call right away, saw the photos of the damage, and came out to the house to inspect the piano in person. The piano couldn't be brought up to the 2nd floor through the stairwell and was stored in the basement of our house. His movers carefully transported the piano to the shop and his technician beautifully repaired the instrument within a week. Essentially a large chunk of the cabinet was broken off and there were several cracks to the frame. This piano has a black polyester finish, which is especially hard to work with and refinish properly. I visited the shop and couldn't be happier with the repair. It looked as close to new as possible. The movers then easily craned the piano up to our balcony and into the apartment without a hitch. I would not hesitate to contact Roger for a new piano, a repair, or moving services. Simply outstanding service!! read more

I had the most wonderful experience at Roger's Piano. Both Roger and Carol were very kind and informative. They allowed me to play whichever pianos I wanted to play, without pressuring me in any way. I looked at a number of other piano shops, but I kept on returning to Roger's Piano, where I found the Brodmann and Heintzmann pianos to be excellent instruments, with great sound and touch, at a very reasonable price. In the end, I chose the Brodmann PE 162 Grand (5' 4"). This is an excellent instrument that held its own relative to the much more expensive Steinway S placed next to it. The tone and action are superb. Roger gave me a really reasonable price on the piano, and it was delivered two days later. I couldn't be happier with the instrument and the purchase. I recommend that anyone interested in buying a piano visit Roger's Piano, where Roger and Carol will provide you with both excellent service and an excellent value. Pay especial attention to the Heintzmann and Brodmann lines, of which they have many models in stock. These pianos play much like Boesendorfers, but are much more favorably priced. read more

Mr. Roger is a true artisan--not only he demonstrated his mastery of trade, he showed honest opinions about each piano. He did not push the customer to just buy a piano, but he encouraged to look for the piano with the 'right sound' that appeals to the customer. He understood the customer's budget, and tried to guide to the appropriate pianos, and able to explain differences in sounds of each brand. He was very patient, allowing the customer to try many instruments, while pointing out subtle differences. The best part of the experience in buying piano from Mr Roger is the service afterwards. One word that I can describe is superb professionalism. When I reached out to his office due to a concern involving piano sound, he and his team came immediately that day, and really showed the mastery of his skills by identifying and diagnosing a problem accurately. It is truly an honor observing his mastery of work--his knowledge of pianos are amazing, and his explanations of piano mechanism, plus his skills in rebuilding pianos is one of the kind. I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano and being confined because of sheltering in place, it felt like the perfect time. The store was not open but I called and made an appointment with Carol. I was the only customer in the store. She wore a mask and gloves and gave me a wipe for my hands. She then spent an hour and a half with me, showing me both used and new pianos, telling me the pro's and con's of each, helping me to hear the differences in sounds, and answering all of my questions until we found the perfect piano for me. I really appreciated that the prices quoted included both sales tax and delivery and there were no add-ons when I went to pay. I bought the piano on a Wednesday and it was delivered the following Monday by a team who wore masks and gloves and were in and out within 15 minutes. We wanted to turn our Yamaha piano in our house into a player-piano and Roger took the time to review in detail the different types of systems, and which would be best for us and for our budget. He was honest, VERY knowledgeable, extraordinarily reliable and professional, and extremely honest. He even caught a small mistake on our bill that the clerk had rung up, and Roger called us to tell us the he was refunding the error immediately to our account. He worked diligently setting our piano up and delivered it on time back to us very quickly, as promised. I had been thinking about buying an upright piano for several years, and a few months ago I dropped in to the showroom on Rt 9. I described my interest to Roger and he showed me a few of the options available on the floor. He demonstrated and described the pros and cons of each piano. And then my eye caught sight of a beauty, a 100 year old German made piano that had been substantially brought up to date. It was love at first sight and sound. Carol referred me to Kawai digitals, and helped me understand all of the factors that contribute to their sound and feel. Her expert advice quickly led me to a great piano that met all of my needs.
