Excellent piano movers! They arrived exactly on time and were polite and efficient. We had tried moving the piano ourselves but it was too heavy and complicated. They had the right equipment and knew exactly what to do so the process of moving the piano to our new house was less than 10 minutes! read more

These guys are PROS! They gave me a very competitive bid. There was excellent communication regarding pickup time. They showed up promptly, didn't damage anything. They were courteous and polite and there were no surprise surcharges. 100 percent positive experience. I highly recommend Allegro Piano Movers. read more

Updated review as promised. Confirmed the owner called after seeing original review and returned the $40 (additional star). However, during the conversation with the owner and in his follow up review, he continues to deny any responsibility of lack of effective communication in all aspects. 1. The sales was made on June 2 and the delivery was on June 8. Taking out the weekend, the business must be so good that they could not find 5 minute to inform a customer for 3 days. And all their customers must not have jobs and just stay at home expecting their call 1 hour before delivery. 2. I have admitted in the original review that I did not do a comprehensive check before letting them go and that was my responsibility. However, I continue to emphasize the piano mover's role in communication. The fact that the pin was bent, there were only 2 possible logical scenarios: either it was shipped that way, or it happened during assembly. It certainly cannot lift the plug and bent itself, physics yeah? If it was shipped that way, the assembler needs to inform the customer, which did not happen. Therefore lack of communication. If it was bent during assembly, the assembler would be the direct cause of the bent, which again was not informed. Therefore lack of communication. This lack of communication has returned in additional 3 weeks of back and forth just to get a functional piano. The owner keeps emphasizing over the phone that "we are only movers, we do not know what the other 2 pedals do, we only checked 1 pedal." and later stated "we've delivered thousands of piano over the years". For a business that has delivered thousands of piano, perhaps he has never bothered to learn the existing and function of the product, but maybe all thousands of customers have also never checked all 3 pedals? The fact that owner has made no effort to recognize any possibility of improving their customer service (not 1 apology in his lengthy response) has made his refund seem less sincere. It's looking more like an attempt to exchange for higher rating. I would still stay away. read more

We hired Allegro for the 2nd time, and once again they were phenomenal. This time, we were moving our heavy upright digital hybrid piano (NU1) down from the 3rd floor into a PODS container. Viktor and his partner executed it flawlessly, very gentle and well-coordinated down all the stairs. Viktor also did a fantastic job tying the piano securely into the POD -- he took his time getting it just right, making sure it was well-padded and wouldn't budge. I only wish we could hire Allegro on the other side of our move, but unfortunately we'll be across the country! But with that, I recommend them wholeheartedly to everyone in the Boston area! read more

I wholeheartedly recommend Allegro Piano Movers. When I moved to Boston, the original movers (The Moving Doctor- don't ever use them to move a piano!) could not maneuver my piano into my apartment building. There are two trickle twists in the apartment staircase. After an hour of trying, during which they dropped the piano TWICE, I asked them to stop, and they left it at my office instead. After repeatedly trying to get them to agree to finish the move, I finally gave up and called Allegro. Even though in the end it meant I had to pay twice to move the piano, I am very happy now. Allegro brought the piano from the truck to my living room in 15 minutes! They clearly know what they're doing, and they're much more reasonably priced than other local piano movers. I will certainly call them next time I move, and you should, too! read more

I saw a piano online in NH, called Allegro and the next day it was delivered in my house in Cambridge. Making this easier simply would have not been possible. Professional, Reliable & Efficient. Thank you Victor!!! read more

Allegro was the best! They were easy to schedule, arrived on time and delivered my piano in perfect shape.

I just used Allegro to move a piano into my studio. It was an extremely difficult move but somehow Victor managed a way to get the piano in. I can't say enough about impressed I am with the job they did. Very professional and high quality company. I would definitely recommend Victor and Allegro Piano Movers for anyone who needs a piano moved! read more

Very pleased with Allegro. They are very reliable, responsive and know what they're doing. They were very knowledgeable on pianos and were easy to communicate with. They sent an email confirmation and everything plus were able to set everything up relatively quick compared to other piano movers I've used in the area. If you're looking for a reliable piano mover in the New England area go with Allegro. You'll be happy with them (to put in context: I used them for moving my baby grand piano and my upright) read more

I highly recommend this company! They were very professional on the phone and in person. The moved my baby grand with no problems and they were the lowest quote I received out of a half dozen. When I move again and I know I will, I will definitely use their services again. Thank you Allegro!!! read more

Allegro was very helpful. They provided pricing beforehand, no surprises, are flexible with timing, and showed up exactly when they said they would. They were polite, careful, and quick. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! read more

To be clear: I booked these guys for a move then ended up cancelling bc of their attitude. From the look of the other reviews it's likely that they would've done the job okay, and at first they were very prompt with replies etc; but as soon as we hit the first snag, their attitude became unprofessional and instead of helping me find a solution they just tried to reassign blame and became sullen/slow to respond to/or completely ignored email. Also was continuously hard to reach by phone, and short-tempered. I've never left a bad review but the whole process caused a lot of stress! read more

Such an easy process. Booked the moving via email, and they were in and out amazingly fast!

I contacted Allegro Piano Movers for a quote after seeing many positive reviews on Yelp. Their quote was less than half the other piano movers. We needed a large upright piano moved out of the house. On the day of the move, I was surprised to only see Victor and his assistant show up and I thought "Oh no." These guys were so in sync with one another they made it look easy. Most of the time they didn't even need to say anything but "yep" "yep" and it was moved. They had the piano out of the house in 15 minutes. I would highly recommend them for any piano move. read more

Allegro piano movers were great. They were very efficient and took great care of the piano in its move. They have about 10 years or more of experience, and can take care of any kind of piano moving scenario. Good pricing as well. read more

I highly recommend Allegro for their efficient and professional service with very reasonable price. I moved a studio upright with them. 3 staff, 10 min. Hassle-free! 5 star! read more

Allegro piano movers moved my Kimball upright piano for a very reasonable price - they arrived on time, were very careful and considerate during the move and I highly recommend getting a quote from them if you need a piano moved. read more

A class act at an unbeatable price! Victor provided excellent communication prior to the move, and was able to accommodate a very early, 7 AM move schedule. The truck arrived right on time. Victor sized up the "from" move, even inspecting the kitchen tile floor and letting the other party know that there were cracks in the tile that might be exacerbated by the move. He offered to put plywood down to protect the floor, but the homeowner indicated that it was being torn up as part of a renovation. On the phone, I was told he could get the piano out of the "from" home in 10 to 15 minutes, and he wasn't exaggerating. He and his two young assistants got the heavy upright tied onto a dolly quickly, out the door, and down the ramp to his truck in short order. All with no damage to any part of the home or the piano ... a very professional move. At my home, Victor quickly sized up the situation and his team quickly had the piano settled in place, again with no damage. The move from Sharon to Stoughton took, in total, under an hour (and that included having to wait for my lawn maintenance crew to clear out, since their truck was blocking the driveway). I highly recommend Allegro Piano Movers! read more

Mad respect for these guys!! I had to move (during the pandemic) to a new apartment building where the staircase leading to my apartment has three very narrow turns. On top of that, my entryway is very narrow with an extremely(!) tight left-turn as soon as you enter the apartment door, which made it fiendishly difficult for my Yamaha U3 to go in. In fact, before contacting Allegro Piano Movers, I was feeling pretty hopeless about whether the move could be accomplished at all by any movers, and was ready to give up and just sell my beloved piano. But in the end, these guys made it work despite not having a single inch of spare room to maneuver! Absolutely no exaggeration here. It was truly awe-inspiring for me to witness their herculean effort and incredible tenacity, coupled with extraordinary and spontaneous problem-solving and utmost care for the instrument throughout the afternoon. I cannot recommend them enough! read more

Allegro did a fantastic job. They were very clear in the quote they provided and accommodated my tight timeline. They were both very professional and the move itself was extremely efficient and easy. Would definitely use again for my next move. read more

Excellent outcome. Workers were quick, efficient, smart and STRONG. The removed a heavy, upright piano, made in the 1880's, with no damage to the soft pine floors. I highly recommend them. read more

Allegro Piano Movers made my piano move seem effortless. Victor was incredibly accommodating of my rushed schedule and communicated very clearly what to expect during the move. The move itself - a heavy, old upright - was seamless and quick. Victor and his assistant took extra care not to scuff or damage the floors and entryway. On top of that, the price was less than a few other quotes I'd solicited. Highly recommend their service. Thanks Allegro! read more

Allegro Piano Movers - Heavy, old upright piano move in Jamaica Plain. - Piano Services Near Me

Booked the appointment a few weeks in advance by phone and they said they would be on the latter half of the 9am to noon time window (which I appreciated instead of getting worried that they were going to be a no show). They showed up around 11:30 as promised. I was a little wary when they came in, looked at the piano and said "Oh this one's easy" but they were absolutely true to their word. Got the piano down a flight of narrow stairs in a prompt but very careful manner. Loaded into the new location without a problem. I hope to not have to move the piano again for some time but if I do I would absolutely use these guys. read more

I called to get a price for moving a piano to a performance site for an upcoming theatrical production. Not only did Victor give me a very reasonable quote for the move, but he actually donated a better quality piano and bench to our theatre company. He and his helper delivered it the next day! The piano has a great sound quality and looks great. These guys are just the best! read more

Stop searching - THIS is the guy you want to move your piano!! I wholeheartedly agree with the previous reviews! Every time I called, he answered! It was great communication every step of the way. I had not owned a piano previous to this and was really going in blind on who to choose for this heavy job. This piano belonged to my grandmother who kept it in pristine condition and I was concerned that it would be handled gently. I could not be more pleased with my experience. I called Friday 7/22 for a quote while doing my preliminary research. I was in a time crunch as the piano needed to be moved by Thurs 7/28! I got back in touch with Allegro after reading these wonderful reviews and finding his fees to be very reasonable! To my relief, he was able to move the piano the very next day! He arrived right on time with 2 young men to help. I could not believe how quickly and efficiently they had the piano loaded onto their truck! They were so gentle & careful! When they arrived at my home things moved just as quickly! I highly recommend you choose Allegro Piano Movers, these gentlemen were wonderful! You will not regret it :) read more

Contacted Allegro based on ratings here. Communicated entirely by email, and delivery was booked within one week (I had a very flexible window - but I don't feel that it would have been a problem to get a sooner date.) The movers showed up at the pick up location on the early end of the 12-3pm delivery estimate, were efficient, clean and very polite. Immediately delivered to our location, and were also extremely professional. I could not believe how flawlessly it all went. I would recommend them without hesitation. read more

Victor started off strong by providing me with an accurate quote over the phone which came in at about half the cost of his competitors. Then, the day of the move, he and his two employees fluidly moved our Howard baby grand piano from a storage unit, up two flights of stairs, and through a turn into our apartment. Once he had the piano in our apartment, he took the time during setup to help replace some missing hardware and give me useful advice on the care and maintenance of the piano. He was courteous and professional, but also no-nonsense, throughout the move. read more

These guys were fantastic. Not only were they absolute professionals who knew exactly what they were doing, they were the nicest guys going. Great experience!!! Really nice people, responsible, on time, and $150 less than all the other quotes I was given.

Allegro moved a grand petite piano into our home today. It was a very last minute job and they were the only companies (out of 5 I have called) and fit me into their schedule. They gave me the correct estimate in time and did everything efficiently and professionally. Very happy with their service. read more

Allegro Piano Movers is a great local company with friendly and professional people. Victor and his crew moved a beloved upright piano from the second floor of a tiny home with tight turns in less than 40 minutes. They knew what they were doing the entire time and was extremely efficient yet treated my piano with utmost care. In addition, they were priced the most competitive around and I called 6 different companies for quotes. They were willing to work with my tight time frame (called them Friday and they were willing to come move Monday morning to accommodate my flight at 3 PM). They were on time, early in fact, and went through the exit options and scouted the area where the piano was located. They examined the piano to mark any knicks, knacks, and scratches as well as the functionality of the piano before actually moving it. The move was as smooth as it can be. It is important to stress that they are professionals in moving pianos. If you want to make sure your piano is in good hands, please find a professional mover who works mainly with pianos like Allegro Piano Movers. I witnessed a piano move at a friend's apartment exactly one day before my move on Sunday and the contrast between the 2 movers was stark. The other company had 3 people moving an upright piano of 48" tall out of a 1st floor apartment with a half flight up of stairs. It took them an hour to get it out of the apartment and building when the move into the apartment took 30 minutes 6 years ago by another professional piano moving company. The movers on Sunday didn't know what they were doing and the main guy in charge was not friendly and courteous at all. The cost they were charging was similar to what Victor and his crew was charging. Why pay for movers that don't really know what they are doing when you can hire Victor and his crew for a similar cost and save yourself the stress and headaches? I would gladly recommend Victor and his crew to anyone who is looking to move their pianos! read more

Allegro Piano Movers just moved my piano (and another piece of furniture) and they were fantastic! They gave me a good price, much better than another piano mover I spoke to. They gave me a two-hour window for their arrival and arrived at the exact beginning of that window. They moved a bed and the piano in less than ten minutes and were very careful about it. They arrived at the piano's destination very quickly. Both of the movers were very nice and pleasant. I couldn't possibly be happier with them, they were great! Highly recommend! read more

Awesome people, friendly service, and professional. We needed help packing our baby grand piano for a cross country drive in a UHAUL, and they walked us through the whole process of disassembling and reassembling the piano. We had to reassemble the piano ourselves because our new home is kind of remote, too far from any piano service company. And everything went smoothly! Piano is happily standing now in its new home :) read more

Absolutely the best piano movers in the Boston area. Quotes are incredibly reasonable. Highly recommend.

Allegro piano movers is fantastic. We had a family piano moved from my sister's home in NY to Massachusetts. I called many different companies for quotes and Victor provided the best price (up to $1000 less than some national moving companies!). Based on the reviews I read about Allegro here on Yelp I decided to go with them. I'm so glad I did! Victor's communication was outstanding. We spoke many times and he was very good about giving updates on when he'd be at my sister's home/my home, etc. He and his brother were friendly, courteous and took special care to keep my floors clean as they brought the piano in from the snowy outdoors. My sister gave equal praise on her end as well. They also gave me helpful tips about how to handle an upright piano should we try to move it a bit. So glad we went with this company! read more
