I wanted to buy a guitar but have some problems with my shoulder and needed help selecting a size and style I could use comfortably. I got no help from the big box stores. I walked into Music Go Round and was immediately greeted by a friendly guy named Jeff. I explained my problem and Jeff showed me a variety of styles and sizes. When he saw how uncomfortable I was, he showed me how to hold the guitar like I was playing classical and it was a revelation. It took all the pressure off my shoulder. He brought me a variety of guitars without trying to upsell at all and I landed on a beautiful Alvarez Parlor size with all Mahagony top, sides and bottom. This guitar new at Guitar stores is selling for $1,100. I bought this slightly used guitar for 1/3 that cost. And, to top it off, the store has a wonderful dog walking around. So, if you want personal service, no pressure sales, and a great bargain on a great guitar--I would stop here. At least that was my experience.

I can't say they actively discourage me in any way. It's just that some of them have a hard time feigning interest. Maybe I'm just not a cool person. I dunno. Some other places have no trouble treating me like I matter, so perhaps it isn't just me. Perhaps I have been encountering an employee who doesn't like his job. Regardless, I keep coming in to see their incredibly good, constantly-rotating inventory. One time, I even sold an amp for them just by being myself, playing some pretty tunes on a nice little setup. A nice older gentleman walked up and complimented the sound I was getting then politely asked if he could buy the amp. We had a wonderful talk and then he bought it while I walked out the door. That made me feel GOOD. That experience has sustained me over a few of the more negative experiences with aforementioned aloof employee.

*service review*…read more Went to get kids guitar re-string service. I had tried to tune it myself and broke the string, oops. Friendly staff welcomed me and directed me to the service area on the left. System was down so they weren't sure if they could do in one day or tomorrow but they called later and it was done. Super speedy! The store was clean & organized, seemed like they had lots of instrument options and a couple rooms to try them out. Lots of parking as this is in the cloverleaf marketplace shopping center with the new Aldi, Wine store, harbor freights and the Hampton Inn. Inn.

This review is a little overdue... We purchased our Estonia at the beginning of 2023. I had been to…read morea few shops but found most of the salespeople either not knowledgeable or pushy (or both). Roger was very hands-on but not in any way obtrusive. He encouraged me to try every piano, as I was eager to do, and I surprised myself when I fell for the gently used Estonia (a brand with which I had very little experience). He explained the nuances of each instrument and answered all of my questions before I made my decision. An easy sell! Delivery was great (I forget who they used but it was flawless) and Roger spent time at our house tuning it - perfectly. Alas, we ended up deciding to move back to the west coast, but first to a small rental that would not accommodate a grand piano, and we were faced with the prospect of having to sell or store the piano for an undetermined amount of time. Roger's partner, Carol, convinced us not to sell (which we really didn't want to do, anyway) and helped us move the piano into storage. Thankfully, we found our forever home, and ten months since leaving the northeast we have our Estonia back! Roger and Carol, thank you for helping us find the right piano and for assisting with the storage and move. And for your patience with me! An easy recommendation.

Corbitt opened the place in 1973, and he's as warm and honest a guy as you're ever going to find. (He's also hilariously droll, and knows a lot about music, musical instruments, music history, life, the universe, and everything.) His son Max now handles much of the everyday operations, and shares most or all of Corbitt's strengths, as named above. Which is really cool--It means there'll be a Centre Music in Framingham for another generation. Great place for lessons, too.

When I started with Mr. Emilian I really had not idea what a note was, I know it is sad, but it is the truth. Mr. Emilian thought me how to read music sheets, how to play notes, arpeggios and accords. Needless to say, he is very patient and very knowledgeable, too. He lent me one of his accordions in the beginning and kept giving me bigger accordions as I was getting better. Eventually I bought a very good accordion from him. I now live outside MA but I still take classes with him using Skype :) Take my word, if you are looking to learn how to play the accordion or the Bassoon, give Mr. Emilian a call.

He was very personable, knowledgeable and professional. The showroom was large, bright, super clean, and full of beautiful pianos of all brands, shapes, and sizes. Parking was easy. Anthony was super nice and super helpful until, in the course of considering a ~1965 Steinway grand (model "S"?) for which he was asking $15K, we asked, politely, if our piano technician could examine the piano, which is best practice and absolutely mandatory if you are not a piano technician yourself. Dear Anthony recoiled, and, in an abrupt and rather impolite tone of voice, informed us that he didn't need our piano technician to tell him what is wrong with his piano (i.e. he knows what's wrong, but he is not about to tell us; I'm sure he did not realize the ironic truth in his statement) and made us feel very uncomfortable. That was not necessary and not appreciated. The visit became tense and uncomfortable after that. He clearly was not prepared to deal with or accommodate an informed customer looking for a used piano at a bargain price. He accurately judged (and condemned) us as "picky people", asking questions appropriate to the purchase of a $40K piano rather than the $15K piano under discussion (honest, accurate, abrupt, and impolite). He wisely told us that he would not sell us the used Steinway (saving both of us the pain of the virtually certain buyer's remorse). I appreciate his candor, but it would have been nicer if he had just told us to go check out the Boston piano at Steinerts... This is probably an excellent place for uninformed people to by a piano, but not for us. I thought that it couldn't hurt to visit the store, but it did. Update: For about the same money that he was asking for his burned-out Steinway, we were able to buy a NEW Boston (a brand of Steinway) baby grand, which we are VERY happy with. He was even certain that Yamaha had never produced this upright piano (neither in the US nor in Japan).
