The huckleberry tasted like milk with a hint of huckleberry , the chocolate shake tasted like milk with Hershey syrup. You'd think for what they charge They are would be better. We literally ended up tossing both shakes. Nobody wanted them. The burgers were small as it was but had the tiniest pieces of meat .... I have 5 kids petite kids under 13 and no one was full or satisfied. We hadn't eaten here in about a year, but now I remember why. Super disappointed. I go to Rogers pretty regularly now that we live in Dalton Gardens. The fries are hands-down, the best fries in the business. The restaurants are nice and the people are friendly. I see a lot of negative reviews of this one in Hayden based on staff shortages and young people that don't know the job very well. While I understand what y'all are saying, I think you're being pretty harsh, considering Joe Biden and Covid and all the other stuff that's going on in our country these days. The french fries that they served me were embarrassing, If I was the cook. The french fries looked like they've been sitting all day and they were the leftover crispy ones at the bottom of the barrel plus extremely salty. The cheeseburger that I got was extremely salty, Also, I don't understand why they need to use so much salt on everything I actually could not even force myself to eat it because of how salty the whole meal was. The chocolate shake I had was decent. I'm very disappointed because this is the second time in six months. I've eaten here thinking that the salty food was a one time thing, not only did I get the salty food but the horrible french fries that were served to me. It just doesn't seem that hard to make a change And don't serve anything that you wouldn't wanna eat yourself plus stop over salting your food. In an effort to find the best burger joint in the area I visited Rogers. I would say they are in the top 5 but I'm more likely to come for their ice cream selection. This is a burger, fries and ice cream joint. The burgers are a 3-4 the fries a 3 and their ice cream selection a 5. I was very disappointed with this restaurant this evening. Normally I'd give this place a glowing review but the service this evening was horrible and disrespectful. Understand, this restaurant closes at 9pm, but I was one car back at 8:45. The truck ahead of me pulled forward and it was 8:49. I sit there waiting for a response only to get an automatic notice that they are closed. Vehicle behind me so I can't back up. So I figured I'll stop at the window and see if they'll take my order. The person in the window along with either the manager or cook turn their backs completely to me even with me stopped. Talking, laughing but clearly ignoring me with effort. I probably could have went inside and talked to the manager but by this time I was visibly irritated and not in the mood to deal with it I've been a pretty loyal customer for some time but not after this. reminder to myself..always check yelp before going somewhere new. rogers 2.5 star average is generous. pulled up to the drive through to order 3 meals. after ordering the first one she gives me the total and tells me to pull up. i said I have 2 more orders. give the next one and she gives me the total and tells me to pull up again. i remind her there was a 3rd order. she takes the final order with a heavy sigh. pull up to the window and am ignored for about 5 minutes. the window pops open and the girl says "here" and thrusts one of the three milkshakes at me and disappears. about 3 minutes pass and she pops out with the 2nd. 3 minutes later she's back with the last shake and all three burgers and fries shoved in a bag. I said I needed a couple more fry sauce and to pay her. she didn't seem to care she had just potentially cost her employer $47. We arrive home to find everything in the bag smashed. also my meal without the bacon i ordered and paid for and with the onions i requested them to leave off. all 3 fries were a soggy, oily undercooked and under-portioned mess. When we first moved here a few years ago we loved this location. The food was so good, the place was clean. I'm not sure what happened but it has gone downhill so bad it's comparable to McDonald's. May be the best burger that I've had in a while. I hope that they make it a regular menu item. *My only complaint is that they don't know how to make a real "malted" milkshake. Not a basic shake but a real "MALT". And for the $8.00 that they charge for a large one it ought to be the best malt in a 250 mile radius. This generation doesn't seem to know how to make a malt, or they confuse it with a regular milkshake. It's so sad anymore that restaurants can't get the help they need, train people and provide support and supervision. We used to love Roger's food.. their great shakes.. and we knew we'd have to wait but it was worth it.. in the past...but last night when we went in what a change!! First the place was Smokey, very Smokey.. as if a fan hadn't been turned on. Finally they opened a door but outside it was like 10 degrees.. not a good idea for customers sitting inside. The restaurant itself was dirty.. tables not clean, the drink area full of dirty napkins and spilled sauces.. which I actually cleaned up before I got my sauce. The staff were teenagers.. no adult supervisor that I saw.. one young man had dread locks hanging in his face and since he was cooking I'm thinking that's probably not the best. They seemed stressed out, which I could understand as they are trying to take orders from the drive through and the walk ins. Clearly to much for the 4 of them. The food was the next issue. My shake was so thin it was like drinking milk, I didn't bother to send it back.. when I got my burger it was not throughly cooked and it was luke warm at best. Lots of fries but they were pretty soft Not crispy. I didn't finish my meal but threw most of it away. And for my husband and I that's $27.00 pretty much wasted. ( he had the same experience as mine ) I think the staff was doing the best they could but without any adult supervision and training and oversight they were floundering. Nice kids.. but way over their heads. Who ever owns this franchise store should be there supervising and making sure things are done correctly .. if you can't get enough staff close your drive through.. I'm old enough and have been in Coeur d'Alene long enough to remember when Rogers was the one cool little shack on Sherman around 14 th st or so. It was a treat then and is definitely woven into the fabric of north Idaho. To say that it is an institution would not be an exaggeration. Now that there are more locations, it would be easy to think that the quality would also become diluted. You would be happily incorrect. Somehow, the quality of everything at Rogers, from their insanely delicious burgers to their ridiculous shakes and ice cream has actually gotten BETTER! My family absolutely loves Rogers, and the available customization options. There are lettuce wrap options for those who want to stay away from bread, and dozens of ice cream combos and shakes.
