The installer replaced the damaged blinds and now all the blinds are working again. More importantly, he determined that the cause of the malfunction was that the blinds weren't set to "locked". He locked all the blinds in my unit and hopefully this will prevent the issue from recurring.

From the first day (July 2022), I had a shade fray in my master bedroom. After my second bedroom shade was installed, it also immediately started fraying. Nathan promised multiple times to replace these shades, but has not done so despite multiple follow ups over the past 2.5 years. See our text history below for reference. In addition, the installer is very unprofessional. He does not clean up after himself leaving metal shavings all over and once left my apartment in a tirade without adjusting the shade. Indeed, there was a quick and easy fix, and this company made it happen within 48 hours. My tenant was thrilled that her visiting mother would be able to enjoy the view from the window. It turns out I had no reason to be suspicious, they are great! I live in a cookie cutter apartment building and just needed simple, sturdy roller shades for my two big apartment windows. Frank came by with his sample books and helped me pick out shades for each window. I went with a slightly transparent shade for my living room (you can see outside but it filters bright sunlight out) and a blackout shade for my bedroom (nice and dark, like a cave!). Ordering was simple and he told me it would be 4 weeks (cool). Pricing was very reasonable as well. Frank called me 2 weeks later and said my order was ready - EARLY. With supply chain issues all over the place I definitely did not expect that. He sent over the insurance stuff for my building right away and we scheduled an install date. On the day of the install, Frank and his assistant didn't show up on time - THEY WERE EARLY. (This is rare for me in NYC!) The install was quick, they cleaned up, and had everything ready to go within 2 hours. The roller shades have been great for me - they've held up nicely and the color matches my apartment well. Faulty product and poor customer service: I bought 6 motorized blinds here and 2 broke after one…read moreyear of light use, and they refused to help repair under warranty and asked for a fee. They also wouldn't explain what broke and claimed user error such as water damage despite the blinds being in a dry safe environment with almost no use. I'd expect for the price, they would help me understand what broke, as I couldn't trust paying for their repairs as it could just break again. It seems that connecting any battery wand to the custom sized larger blind instantly shorts the battery wand, making it impossible to use. Per M&A, this is user error, even though they assured me the custom blind size was fully supported. They aren't standing behind that, and there is apparently no way to fix my blinds purchased from M&A. For the price, you can certainly do better. Otherwise you may end up with permanently non functional blinds.
