Came here to meet up with friends for happy hour. It was pretty tight to navigate and move around upon arriving and meeting friends. In the beginning, we were sharing a table with a stranger who was nice enough to share with us but it was cramped being in the back by the bar, so keep that in mind. For happy hour meals and drinks, it was cost effective for being in NY. NY prices can be outrageous for minimal effort/mediocrity but $5 aperol spritz and $6 margherita pizza is a good deal on a Friday. I understood why it was packed for happy hour. Never returning. The food was good but our service experience was terrible. Very off putting and rude. Almost all of which was the manager. Other reviews mention that they refuse to serve international visitors for "legal reasons", which is asinine. There are millions of international tourists that come through NYC every year and are served all over the city. This place can't get out of its own way. read more

Genuinely awful experience. This place is like if a private equity firm owned a pizza place. My friends and I came for happy hour on a Friday, and the way Roey's is run ruined our time. We arrived to a long line which is understandable for this part of town on a weekend, but then the security man organizing the line and checking IDs was a total creep who asked me if I'd like to have my weight on my ID and why my friend's ID had specific phrasing on it. Then he lingered and stared at us in a really uncomfortable way. When we got to the host stand, they were decent and we put our names down to wait another 30 minutes for a table. We walked in the area while I waited for a text. When we got back, we were 2 minutes past the check back time and the hostess said she was sure she could sit us. But would see what she could do. She got us a table, but let us know we would have to be out of the restaurant at a specific time as she "needed the table." As you can imagine, this made us feel extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable. We were lucky though, as other parties that waited just as long were being "sat" on the sidewalk at standing tables (???). Since we had already waited an hour, we took the table. As far as table service, the servers were stretched insanely thin and took our order in under 30 seconds the second we sat down. The food came in less than 5 minutes adding to the feeling that we were getting shoved through this restaurant like cattle to be fed and of course, pay for our meal. The pizza was adequate, but clearly off an assembly line. Before my friend could finish her drink, a server was already taking her glass away. Same went for my plate of pizza. Ordered a rosé and a beer off the happy hour menu for $5-7; great prices for decent drinks. My rosé was drier, which went with my salad. The summer tomato salad is fresh and tasty, but could have a little more substance to it; it was a bit watery, but very refreshing. Loved the margarita with burrata pizza! The ambience inside reminds you of a quaint Italian cafe, and we saw plenty of people having the same deal as us! Our reservation was on the early side of the night (6pm) and the restaurant felt nearly empty. This was during the holiday season, so their Christmas decor was top notch! We ordered the focaccia and burrata plates to split with the table. The focaccia was fluffy and fresh out of the oven, don't skip out on this! The burrata was standard, definitely can't go wrong with a plate of cheese and bread. For the mains, I split the mac and cheese and the broccoli rabe pizza. Both dishes were well seasoned and cooked, although the pizza was MUCH more broccoli heavy than I was expecting. The ambience is great, and there are plenty of tables for both large parties (~10ppl) to small parties. All of the brunch cocktails are fantastic, we loved the Bloody Mary's that were heavy on the horseradish & the mimosas that had the perfect champagne-orange juice ratio. For apps we had the Watermelon Salad that was crisp and delicious, and the Antipasti Misti that was perfect to snack on before our entrees. 4 of us shared 3 pizzas cooked in their wood fired oven: the Burrata, Sopressata, and Zucchini & Green Garlic Pesto. My 21-year-old daughter had been bugging me all summer to go down to the Village to try Roey's happy hour. I'm guessing she'd seen a TikTok. Well, she's leaving to go back to college today so last night we finally caved. It did not disappoint. From the moment we approached the hostess, we felt welcomed. Although the line to check in seemed off putting, we were seated within 15 minutes and promptly greeted by our server, Gabriel. The Aperol Spritzes, pizzas, meatballs and garlic knots were all delivered quickly and were delicious. Gabriel then made our night by delivering complimentary mango gelato as a thank-you for our regular patronage at Rosemary's midtown and StuyTown. Between 3 and 4 stars but tentatively rounding down because of how many other (better) pies I think you can get in the city for the same price or cheaper. I ordered the pepperoni, which was technically a personal pie at a thin crust 10.5 inches, but could have possibly fed two not-very-hungry people with the addition of a shared appetizer or something. I guess by that regard it's not terribly expensive, but it was pretty light on the cheese and sauce and so $19 doesn't sit as well as it does at like, Roberta's for example. Pizza was decent but had an odd, almost sweet-ish flavor that I couldn't really put my finger on. It's possible that the sauce was just a little too sweet for my liking, or it could have been the nduja but doubtful. Delivery was pretty good - on time, pizza neatly in box, arugula in a separate container on the side. Possibly a little cold but understandable given distance from my office. Probably won't order again, but the pizza is good enough where the cute, Rosemary's-adjacent ambiance could be enough to sway me for dining in. read more

You really cannot beat the happy hour price. Some are too soft, some are too thick, some aren't cheesy enough....the list goes on and on. However, at Roey's..... holy cannoli, IT is PERFECTION. The broccoli rabe is PACKED with flavor.
