I called Rod's Moving Service at the last minute last weekend due to my previous moving assistance falling through. The owner answered and I was able to schedule movers for the same day after describing exactly what I needed. It was just a small deposit and the owner himself showed up with a huge truck and another person, ready to empty out my storage unit and transfer the items to my new place. Both movers were efficient, quick, thoughtful and friendly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and the service was amazing value for the cost. in any business communication is key. You called to let me know you would be late Ok cool. Before arriving you asked me what kind of stuff I had to move. On the day of moving you showed up in a little truck, then you came in to tell me I got a lot of stuff. In the same sentence telling me how you move celebrities and how big they house is. He then advises me there will be 2 loads needed. To sum up everything 5 hours later and I still have to move the other half of my home. I chose to only do the first load bc of time. Stuff was not wrapped properly. Please be hesitant about choosing them. I definitely wasted money. beware read more

I've waited two weeks to write this review to make sure that I was not just writing in anger, but the day we moved with Rod's Moving Service was one of the most stressful days I've ever had. We planned to move on a Sunday. The day before, I called Rod to make sure we were good to go. He let me know they had a late move that day (Saturday), and asked if we could start at 11am on Sunday. We were moving out of a 3 bedroom-1 bathroom house, so even though 11am seemed late to me, I figured it was fine because we had such a small house. The moving service Showed up at 11am, and things were moving well. I left for the new house (which was 5 minutes down the street) around 1pm, thinking they were right behind me. At 3pm they showed up and let me know we had too much stuff, so they would have to make another trip. I didn't love that since we're paying hourly, but obviously didn't really have a choice because we need our stuff. They start unloading and their "builder" goes to work on building my twins' cribs. They go back to get the rest of the stuff at 5pm while the "builder" is upstairs putting the two cribs together and our master bed. Around 7pm the truck still isn't back, so we start calling Rod. No answer after no answer after no answer. It's now around 7:30 and my infants are ready for bed. I go up to their room to find my kids' beds in pieces. The builder spent four hours trying to build the cribs, and couldn't, but didn't tell anyone. I frantically called a friend who came over and built them in 15 minutes. The "builder" went on to "build" our master bed. While my friend was leaving, they called to let me know our moving truck with our second load of stuff was broken down outside our neighborhood. A tow truck finally tows the moving truck to our house at 9pm, and it takes until 11pm to unpack what was in the truck. I notice a lot of our stuff is still missing. Rod tells us "We couldn't put everything in here because there wasn't enough stuff to pack it tight." At 11pm he tells us he's only going to charge 8 hours, and is going to leave his truck in front of our house, as if it was a huge discount he was giving us for not charging us for the hours he was broken down and didn't return our calls. The next day, we notice our bed is built completely wrong, and ask him to come back to fix it. He comes with his guy, but keeps telling me, well at least his company wrapped things tight and didn't break anything! (which isn't true, we found a broken family heirloom). Sir, it is an expectation that professional movers wrap things and don't break anything. In all, our 3 bedroom/1 bathroom move, 5 minutes down the street went from 11am-11pm, with our friend building furniture, many pieces of furniture left behind for us to figure out how to handle at our old house, a broken down truck that was left 24 hours, and a bed that had to be rebuilt. read more

I'm moving again in 6 months and I won't call anyone else in the Atlanta area before I first and foremost call Rod at Rod's Moving Service. The best customer service ! I needed a mover last minute and Mr. Rod got me in the very next day. He even got to take me a little earlier than I had scheduled which was perfect. Him & his crew came right in and got to work so fast. I'm still shocked at how quick it took for them to load & unload between places. I had a light move at least Rod's Moving made it look light. they arrived at my home on time and ready to work. Rod himself was on the job along with a 4 man crew . they worked together as a team they were very respectful of our home (even though we were moving out ) and of us. They took care in all the moving of our things. Ms. Sally made everything work even when I needed Saturday and they were book up she still made a way for me and the price was better than every other group in my area Rod and his guys are professional through and through. I can't say enough wonderful things about this company. From the very beginning, Rod was professional and courteous. My moving appt was scheduled for 9:30, but Rod and his crew showed up 25 minutes early and began working right away. They were very careful with our belongings and wrapped them to prevent scratches. From their manners to their thoughtfulness, this company was top notch! I never once saw the guys slow down, stop, or goof off.. they definitely earned their money and then some. I was very pleased with Rod's Moving Service. They did an "awesome" job. Unlike another moving company that I used two years ago. Their price was very reasonable, and they did not ride the clock, to allow more hours to past, in order to increase the cost for their services. An appointment was made with them, for my move to begin at 10:00am. They arrived 30 minutes early and went straight to work. They wrapped, and placed blankets over my furniture, to protect it from damage. They worked until the truck was loaded, and my furniture was unloaded at his new destination. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! If I could give negative 1000 stars I would. I booked a move in advance and prior to them coming out I explained in detail the size and weight of a few pieces namely a bar that was downstairs. They showed up on time only to tell me they couldn't move the bar because it was too heavy and they needed dollies (theirs were broken) and a hydrolic lift on their truck. Three grown men couldn't move one bar. Mind you I've used Bellhops and 2 men & a truck to move this same furniture with less men and no special equipment. Then because I have to be out the house by 3, I say let's proceed and you guys move everything else for the 3 hour price and I'll get a small uhall for the bar and move that myself. An expense I wasn't prepared for but whatever. He says they can't move everything in three hours. Mind you all the furniture is broken down and stacked in the living room. All they had to do was load the truck. He says his wife will fire the lazy workers but wouldn't be willing to discount anything and they would take longer than three hours. Don't waste your time or money on this moving company that doesn't move. They left me in a huge mess. read more

Rod's moving service did a great job! I only moved 2 miles away, but they were able to move my 2/2 apartment to my new 1/1 condo in under three hours. The first three hours was only $199 total. They didn't nickel and dime me for boxes, wrapping, blankets and stuff like that. They even gave me some boxes that I needed for free. They were very nice, professional, and quick. I called and was able to schedule a move for 2 days out. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family. read more
