The service makes this place a place I'll never visit again. The kid who waited on me made it obvious that he was unhappy to do his job. He didn't know the menu and acted angry when I had to show him what I wanted to order. He claimed there were 'no lunch specials' when the menu clearly lists an entire page from 12 to 3:00. He was rude and absolutely worthless as a server. It's service like this that ensures this restaurant will fail as there are no adults supervising what's going on. We three were very happy we came. I thought it fascinating to read the fair warning at the bottom of the MENU COVER. Ice Tea all around - Both Sweet and Un-Sweet. Something has changed. There's a new menu, looks like less items. The enchiladas I had were pretty basic, actually I'd ordered the Trio Enchiladas. They substituted saying they don't have that dish anymore but this is "pretty much the same, four instead of three." That sounded odd. We get home and it's not the same. The other came with rice and beans. This had neither. The other had green verde sauce. This had that white cheese sauce, I can't do dairy. The chips and salsa, well there was one cup of salsa instead of the usual two, and the bag was wet. Nothing else was, so it didn't happen in the car. The chips were just broken up pieces. read more

If you order fajitas, expect to get more veggies than meat. I ordered steak fajitas. No more than 6 pieces of meat, but a plate full of zucchini, squash, mushrooms, onion, and green pepper. Average Mexican food and service. I would rate it a C. It could easily upgrade to a B if they would serve their chips warm, add more seasoning to their salsa, and if the waiter staff would remember all your order and check on you once in a while. My husband had the fajitas, he said they were good (not greasy). I had a combination plate. I have eaten at this establishment multiple times and the food has been mediocre at best. Growing up in SW Texas and Oklahoma I have had genuine Mexican cuisine and this isn't it. However tonight a very dear friend of mine decided that they were going to patronize this particular restaurant this evening. As per Alabama mandate from Alabama Governor MeMaw those entering the establishment are required to wear some sort of face covering even if it is just a t-shirt or whatever. Well a member of this party wore a facial covering which depicted the American flag. The young man is a patriot and loves his country. Well their server Jorge made it known that he was not pleased with this young mans facial covering and he let it be known. Last time I checked this was America and there are an awful lot of patriots and our patriotism is still very much strong despite what you may hear on the news. I am utterly appalled at how someone would immigrate to this country and then disrespect it by making demeaning statements to those of us who would show our patriotic pride. Smaller location, can't walk around without bumping into people. The food is good, but there is no draft beer and one very small bar. Would recommend the other locations over this one if you plan to drink. They only serve bottles and it's much more expensive compared to draft at the other restaurant locations. read more

Rodeo on W Main Street is a quite, little version of the the local chain of Rodeo Mexican Restaurants in the Dothan area. Tucked into a small shopping center, you'll usually get seated right away by friendly staff. I have a family of 4 (2 kids) and their is the standard spread of quesadillas and chicken fingers with French fries. The fries are delicious and very crispy *ask for cheese sauce to dip your fries and chips in* I asked our server if they had tomatillo (green salsa) for our complementary basket of chips. In five minutes he came back with a freshly made bowl of salsa Verde. Food always takes fresh and the ingredients are probably the best in the area in comparison to other local Mexican restaurants. 5/5 stars! read more

The chips and salsa was disappointing low on taste the item number 43 four enchiladas seemed to have steamed chicken with water dripping out of the shells and the steak ones had an unusual flavor. I was probably just hangry (angry because of hunger) but it was mildly infuriating when they forgot my salsa. I had a basket of chips and an empty bowl until the next time I saw the waiter, when the main dish came out. That was a mistake and that's fine - but it was just bad timing on that particular afternoon. The Shrimp Diablo was fine. Served on a bed of cheesy rice, the dish felt lighter because of the "salad" which consisted of sliced iceberg lettuce, a tomato slice and what appears to be a dollop of store-bought guacamole. I could be mistaken on the store bought, but it wasn't chunky at all, more like puréed avocados. So it was fine. At least average. Maybe not my weekly go-to spot though. read more

Atmospher reminds me of all the Tex mex restaurants in Texas. Not as fancy as cactus or la pril but food is outstanding. Service is attentive but not over the top. Way way way below par. My wife and I went for lunch earlier today and I wish we had not. It's pretty hard to screw up Mexican food but these people managed to. My wife ordered a taco salad that turned into a sloppy soup. We told the server that it was bad, she then brought us some lettuce to help it. It didn't. I could have thrown a fit but that not my style. I thought just explaining it would help. Another server came to our table and told me that they get a lot of complaints about it and wished that they would take it off of the menu. I figured that when I got to the register they would make it right. But when I told that guy about it he asked why I didn't tell somebody that it was horrible, I replied that I did tell somebody. He shrugged his shoulders and charged full price for a meal he knew was bad. He understood my English perfectly but did nothing to make things better. I wish I had taken a picture of the slop. Had a decent experience until I went to pay and realized I was charged $2 for one ounce of sauce. That's highway robbery. Then to add insult to injury when I spoke with the manager all I received was sass. No apology that his server did not warn me of the up charge. I want to like Rodeo. They have a great location. But there are numerous drawbacks. 1) Their guacamole sucks. They are using the Mexican Connection recipe with lots of sour cream. As you would expect this abomination tastes awful. 2) The tables are tiny. Really tiny. Way too small to accommodate 4 people and all their dishes. At the booths only the people closest to the wall even have enough table in front of them. The two by the aisle are facing half a table. 3) I am allergic to bell peppers. That rules out their rice as well as any meat dishes that have been shredded and cooked as a melange. So no burritos, no chimichangas for me. This Rodeo leaves me wishing things were different. Maybe if they left the peppers out. Maybe if they weren't using tiny cruise ship, doll house furniture. Maybe if they could learn how to make guacamole. Maybe I could give it more stars. read more

We eat there often and really like this place. The beef burrito, taco and rice is my favorite. It is always excellent. My wife has tried several chicken dishes and has never been disappointed.
