My wife and I have went here since 2017. The service today was despicable. We were seated at 215 pm and we counted 3 waiters. Maybe 12 customers. After almost finishing the tortilla chips and salsa by myself cause my wife has to be gluten free we were still waiting for someone to ask us about drinks. After witnessing 2 other couples being seated and their orders taken along with drinks brought to them we headed for the door. I will spend money at Taco Bell before coming back here. read more

Wow, I just cannot imagine how many lunches and dinners my husband have purchased at Rodeo over the past several years!! Never had a problem and enjoyed the food. Last week, we went again to the Montgomery Highway location and after waiting for about 20 minutes, when there were about 12 people in the restaurant and 4 waiters (1 who was standing at the table next to us talking and flirting with 2 women), I approached the man who appeared to be handling the front end, requesting to speak with the manager as we had been totally ignored since we walked in the door and were seated. This employee turned around and waited on a table and we waited a few more minutes before deciding to leave. Sorry Rodeo...we won't be returning to any of your locations anymore! Folks, if you want good service, there are many other restaurants in Dothan to choose from, in addition to better tasting food! read more

I was excited to try this spot, but the experience was honestly uncomfortable from the start. The manager was incredibly rude and impatient. He rushed us the moment we walked in, barely gave us time to look at the menu, and snapped when we asked a question about an item. His attitude was so unwelcoming, it made me feel genuinely uneasy -- to the point where I felt uncomfortable even receiving food from there. It completely killed my appetite. There are too many great Mexican restaurants around to waste time or money at a place where the staff treats you like a burden. Definitely won't be returning. read more

I had a bad experience where a table serving of liquid was spilled over me. However, that was not why the service was bad. The waitress tripped, and she spilled the drinks by accident. I told her that it was okay, thinking that it wasn't on purpose. While sitting there in soaked pants and jacket , she cleaned up the walkway. I had to ask for napkins to clean up what was spilled on my clothes and seat. The area under my table was not cleaned up. I was not offered a new table. I had to ask to to speak to management after sitting there for approx 45 minutes with only my waiter reminding me that the spill was an accident and no one offering to help make my experience more comfortable. Management shared that the waitress that spilled the drink on me, didn't offer me napkins, and didn't clean the drink up under my feet so that I could put my feet back on the floor, expressed that I was rude to her and didn't speak to her after she apologized(which is false, I immediately told her it was okay ) He called me rude multiple times despite me explaining that no one talked to me or checked in after the incident, and I never raised my voice. I'm basically sharing this story because of how hurtful the management and team were despite me being calm. read more

I've had food from a myriad of Mexican restaurants, and this one is certainly at the top of the list! I ordered the arroz con pollo and added grilled peppers and onions on top. WOW! It was all perfectly cooked and prepared. The chicken and rice were not dry. There was a perfect amount of queso on top. (It was the BEST arroz con pollo I've ever had.) My husband ordered the burrito with pork and pineapple inside. The burrito was huge, and flavor was absolutely incredible! Two things that could be improved: there was a bone in the pork in the burrito, and the salsa was a bit heavy on the red tomato and black pepper. Other than that, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere is really cozy. We will be back for sure! read more

Just another run of the mill Mexican place with overall good food and solid service. I ended up here on a Tuesday night when I was in town for business. I was craving some cheese dip and an enchilada, so what better place than a place called Rodeo Mexican. The night was not busy, so I cannot speak to the overall running of the place, but in my case I was sat quickly and the service was prompt and attentive. I ended up with the dinner combination featuring 2 enchiladas, one taco and a side of rice or beans. I opted for rice, as any sane person would do at a Mexican restaurant. Overall, Rodeo was the exact place I was expecting it to be. It hit the spot and I have no issues! read more

I had the tacos for Tuesday special. Beef tacos for me. Seemed tasty enough. And they had plenty of chips, with a small bowl for each person that they can pour their own salsa sauce into.. We were in Dothan for a weekend of packing and moving. After a long day, my wife and I tired and hungry. Not a much better way to make everything alright than Mexican food and a margarita. This particular location was close to my heart from many nights in high school frequenting the Mexican spot that was here before. Even though we didn't have a chance to look at the menu, we knew we wanted a margarita. So we went ahead and ordered that. When that came out quickly, we still weren't ready to order, so the waitress said she would come back shortly. We stopped conversation and decided what we wanted. Then we waited and waited and then waited some more. Finally someone who was not our waitress noticed us looking around and decided to come help us. We actually didn't see our waitress again until the check came. Very weird. Since most Mexican establishments are very fast, it wasn't a huge deal. But the overall experience was just A-ok. The margarita was strong, but not that good. And the food was good but not great. This was an experience that the Yelp star system really nails. Right down the middle at 3-stars. read more

Food was OK at best. The restaurant is clean. Bathroom facilities are not at all handicapped friendly. Atmosphere is pleasant enough. Wait staff is Johnny on the spot. If you set you set your fork down for too long, they will want to clear your place. The parking lot is adequate. However handicapped parking area is very uneven and difficult for someone using a walker. read more

Finally!! Some proper Mexican food in the south. This was the closest thing to the Mexican food I'd get in California and I was so happy. I got the shrimp quesadilla which was very tasty but I think they used the queso dip as the cheese and I found it a little too rich. Husband got the chicken enchiladas and loved them. The waitress was GREAT she had great personality, service was great. PROBLEM I accidentally left my keys on the table which I quickly realized but the table was already bused. The manager was AWEFUL and RUDE, he would not try and help and I finally had to go thru ther trash. Food crap and smelly junk just to finally find out one of waiters had my keys in his damn pocket. 45 minutes later my keys are in his pocket. I tipped the sweet dishwasher for feeling sorry for me and trying to go thru that nasty trash. My friend had to hold my hair back along with my sleeves while I rummaged thru filth. Great food and always had great service until yesterday. Our table ordered and when our food arrived, my wife's order was not right. No problem, they could just correct the order. But instead, the waiter argues with my wife and insisted that the mistake was her fault and not his. He wouldn't take the dish and fix her order. Finally, I had to agree to pay for his mistake before he would get her what she wanted. Then, as he delivered the food, he was still defending himself. I explained to the manager that, in spite of the fact that they managed to get me to pay for their mistake and had not lost the cost of the food, they'd lost my potential hundreds of dollars in future meals. My complaints were met with apathy. At La Parilla, the manager, Ricardo, would have just made it right. And that's why they've had our business once or twice a week for two years. They're service is top notch and they treat you like a 5 star restaurant. We won't be back to Rodeo. The waiter totally embarrassed my wife and made us all feel uncomfortable. I had the chicken & steak fajita for one. I had enough food to feed two. Rosa recommended this to me. It came with chicken, steak, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and zucchini grilled to perfection. Refried beans, rice, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo with three tortillas on the side. The service was great and the taste of the food even better. I highly recommend visiting them. Wow. This place served me a dish full of inedible chicken -- vile crunchy connective tissue in 4 bites before I just gave up on it. The manager could not take it off the bill and insisted it was high quality chicken. I showed him the inedible bits and he insisted that's just chicken. He did offer me a new dish, but at that point my party had finished eating and to be honest I did not trust their food at that point. And so I left having paid for an inedible burrito because they refused to take it off the check. I do not recommend eating at this establishment. Bad food and bad customer service. read more

This place was absolutely horrible tonight. I was mistreated and spoken to terribly by one of the waitress. I wouldn't recommend ANYBODY to go to Rodeo on West Main Street. The staff are rude and they treat you horribly. This was the worse experience there I have ever had. After the way I was treated tonight, I will NEVER return to Rodeo. My husband and I have eaten at this restaurant for the last time. Husband has ptsd and my patience moved out with my kids when they grew up, so it isn't all the time but, sometimes we will request not to sit next to any kids. Today was one of those days! The lady put us in the far end were there wasn't but another couple there and we thought we were going to have a quiet lunch, it was around 2 pm and most people would have already eaten. We hadn't ordered yet when she comes back with a couple with two kids and sits them in the next booth! They were mostly empty and could have sat them elsewhere.
