A sweet intake clerk at the hospital In Dothan recommended La Parrilla because it was one of her favorite eateries, and we were famished after a long trip that day to visit a dear friend who suffered a stroke. We craved a Mexican dinner, and the clerk's suggestion was right on. While overflowing with customers that evening, the staff found a quiet place on the patio for us to enjoy what would be a scrumptious meal. We both thoroughly enjoyed a Con Todo Burrito. Delicioiso and muy bonita. In addition, we were especially impressed with an attentive server who checked with us regularly to ensure our dining experience met the restaurant's expectations. This has become a favorite spot for Mexican food! The service is always great. For this visit, Ruby took good care of us. Great personality and she was on top of things.. The food came out very quickly. We had barely started eating our appetizer when our entrees arrived. We ordered the La Parilla dip appetizer. It's a thinner cheese dip with steak, chicken and shrimp and is served with flour or corn tortillas. We ate the meat with some of the cheese sauce on the tortillas that came with it. We also dipped our tortilla chips in the cheese sauce. Hubby drizzled some on his Mexican rice and loved it that way, too. Hubby ordered the steak burrito again. It's covered in cheese and is served with Mexican rice and refried beans, which are both very good. The steak in the burrito tastes like it came from a good steakhouse. I ordered the carnitas platter which came with large chunks of pork carnitas in a green sauce. This is different from other carnitas I've eaten as they are usually served in the jus. It was delicious! It does have a little heat so if your taste buds are sensitive, ask if they can prepare a mild version. The carnitas are served with Mexican rice and their delicious Charro beans. If you haven't tried these beans, you should! Be sure to ask for a spoon for the beans. You won't want to waste a drop They have plenty of onsite parking on 3 sides of the building. We've never had to wait for a table here even when the parking lot is pretty full. read more

Great food and service with excellent prices and portions. They serve fresh made salsa and chips and the shredded chicken quesadillas are amazing . I also ordered tacos with steak and crunchy shells and they were still hot and crunchy after picking up and bringing home from a good distance away. I love that they give cookie snacks for the kids and they love eating here every time we visit family that live local! Everyone's food was delicious each visit and the restaurant has great decor and seating and service we just prefer to eat at home because the kids are small!If you want great mexican eat here! read more

Very lively place with great energy. Service was helpful and friendly. The food. Being from San Antonio we have big expectations when it comes to Mexican food. The Tinga quesadilla was tender, juicy and loaded with flavor! Con Madura tacos with steak are an absolute game changer! The La Parrilla dip was phenomenal- steak, shrimp & chicken in a cheese sauce- definitely a must try. Husband got the brisk flautas and said they were great. Food is extremely bland and greasy. The carne asada was ok but not great. Carnitas was tough and flavorless. Corn tortillas were awful and crunchy. Salsa was like tomato sauce with onion powder. Having just recently moved to the panhandle area, my sister and I have been hunting for great places to eat. After eating here, we have definitely found our favorite Mexican restaurant. My sister ordered a salad that had chicken in it, I had a chimichanga with brisket in it, and my nephew ordered a quesadilla that was absolutely huge, containing beef, chicken and shrimp. The food arrived much faster than I expected, and the portions were generous, and we all ended up having to get to go boxes because it was more than we could eat. The service was excellent also. Our server, Jimena, was wonderful and extremely helpful with our questions about the menu, and check back with us often to make sure everything was good. We will definitely be back. read more

Went for cinco de mayo, Had a DJ in the parking lot. Would have liked it more if he played more Latino instead of 90's or R&B, more suited to the event imo. The restaurant did have more traditional music but was very busy ( couldn't hear it anyways ) The food was very average. Not great not terrible. One of my absolute favorite Mexican restaurants. Everything is fresh and served with a smile. Waiters are friendly and always seated quickly. If you go at lunch the service is fast as well. My husband and I have been here tons of times. It's been great up until yesterday. My Mexi-pizza was cold and absolutely slathered in cheese that was not melted at all. It was a wet pile. His food was great as usual. Our server was not the best. We've never had a bad server before but this was drastically different than our usual experience.
