We reached out to Critter Control and they offered to come out that day. I couldn't make the appointment, but they came the next day and evaluated the area, noting where the raccoons were likely coming from. They set up a trap in the most affected area. We caught a poor local cat the first time and they released it. Then caught three raccoons. They're responsive, professional, and do a great job. Highly recommended! PSA: don't mess around with raccoons. I'm a biologist and discovered that a lot of raccoons in the area have a parasitic roundworm. Eggs can live in the soil for two years. Resistant to bleach, ethanol, cleaners, etc. Almost the only way to kill the eggs is to heat them to 143ºF/63ºC. A weed torch (being careful around any flammable structures) or boiling water can be helpful.

There was an issue with a short circuit because a rat chewed through the insulation that we didn't notice until the weekend, but Carlos responded immediately and came over to fix the issue. We are so grateful to Carlos and the Attic Crew for helping us with rats in the home, helping us feel more confident about keeping them out for the foreseeable years, and for all of their professionalism, knowledge, and expertise! Over the first month, the service was rushed an ineffective, but when we requested another set of eyes, we were sent the technician Alex Lara. Through his inspections and repeated visits to maintain traps, he caught and removed 16 rats and advised us on likely access points they used. While others were positive I was seeing a wingless subterranean termite, they identified the insect as harmless. Since I am nonetheless nervous about termites, I decided to take advantage of their free inspections, which is typical of the industry I believe. And a good thing. About a week later and just a couple days before they were to come over, there was a big deposit of Frasse in our bedroom. I took a picture and posed the question to Gemini and Meta AI, which both identified it as from dry wood termites. When Robert came, he did the same. Robert explained the immigration details well. Kept in touch. Fumigator who put tent on also was communicative. Does not appear that I received a call in advance from person who took tent off. Would have liked that. Overall, I am happy with the results so far. Well, at least I feel like they did the work and I am hopeful that I will not see any termite Frasse in the next three years, which is their guarantee. I would use them again for a fumigation.

Great first experience with HomeShield…read more We called HomeShield to deal with an ant problem, and our service tech, Duirjon, made a great first impression. He was professional from start to finish, checked in several times to ask if we had any questions or concerns, and invited me to walk through the work with him so I understood exactly what was treated and where. He even cleared away visible spider webs while he was at it, a small touch we really appreciated. With a dog and young kids at home, I was glad to see how carefully he planned the treatment both inside and outside the house. Pricing was fair, and we signed up for their quarterly service for the next 12 months. Since this was our initial treatment, it's too early to comment on long-term results, but based on this visit I'm confident and expect good outcomes. I'll update this review as the service continues. Thanks, Duirjon!
