Can't go wrong with surf N turf…read more There's a couple of these around the island and basically is the same restaurant layout and menu. Music from a speaker playing in the background as you wait sitting by those metal framed chains leaning against those black top tables. The prices seem comparable with the surrounding area. And food quality across the restaurant chain is consistent, consistently good. The cube steak is moist and whatever sauce you get is tasty. And the shrimps are decent size and not overcooked where they taste like rubber. They also serve chicken but why get that when their name is Ono steak? Overall four stars Food is good and prices are fair. There can be an unusual long wait time but your food is fresh off the grill. M

The whole point of me calling ahead is because I have somewhere to be -- I want to walk in, grab my order, and be out in under a minute. That's impossible when they're holding up the process over payment. I completely understand wanting payment upfront, but if that's the policy, why not set up a secure online ordering system? Giving out my card information over the phone just doesn't feel safe -- especially with all the scams going on these days. A lot of restaurants have already moved to online payment options that are way more secure and convenient.

We can deal with it being kinda in the ghetto of Waipahu but it was the very unhappy (clearly annoyed) counterperson who was taking our order - who SNAPPED AT MY MOM because she was confused with what comes with their plate lunch AND then the cook (assumedly - a different person than who took our order) annoyingly brought our items out to the table. She ordered the chop steak - I thought tasted ok, but it was seasoned heavier than my mom would like. Portion was right for the price. I got their signature Loco Moco burrito - SAD. It was $20, majority rice and mac salad, no meat. I needed a knife to cut the burrito in half, there was no counterperson or anyone available to ask for a knife, so I kind of looked around their register area and found a random one on the side, cut the burrito in half, DEFINITELY NOT how they showed it on TV, if the counterperson came back, I probably would have asked for them to swap it out. We were sitting for about 25 mins - nobody came back to the counter? If it wasn't for the counterpersons unfriendly attitude I was planning to buy their signature dessert to go, but I was turned off by the whole experience AND he didn't come back out anyways until literally I was throwing our containers away. He didn't greet us. Thank us. Ask how everything was. Or say anything when we were leaving. We saw the owners on TV and are happy and glad to support a local business BUT NOT when your employees are rude and unfriendly. $45 - 1 mini plate + 1 signature item and 2 cans of soda, I would SKIP this place

We had Bobby cater our wedding in November and the food was such a hit! We would recommend them…read moreover and over again! Our experience with Bobby started with private a tasting in their lounge of a few of the things we were hoping to have on our menu. We tried two mains, a salad and a few sides... when I say everything was a smash it, i really mean it! Our package included a third main and we honestly told him he could pick what to bring because obviously he knows how to cook- it'd be impossible to choose! For our wedding we had the kalbi shortribs, garlic shrimp, and huli huli chicken for our mains. Our salad was the one with the warm bacon dressing (OMG DELICIOUS), and we also had truffle mashed potatoes, a ratatouille, rice and i think 3 appetizers. It was ALL so good. Our guests have been raving about it since. Not only was the food to die for, but also the service before and during the wedding too! we had a few dietary restrictions to accommodate and Bobby was so easy to work with and already had ideas ready to go. Then there's the wait staff - who brought my husband and I full plates of everything first, before anyone else. So many people say they don't get to eat at their own weddings and they made sure that DIDNT happen to us. I was still so anxious that I didn't clear my plate but everything i DID eat was just as good as the tasting. The staff stayed and helped my coordinator for the rest of the night as well. After dinner they boxed up all the leftover food for us to take home and I was so happy for that! Since I didn't eat a ton at my own wedding I got to house all of the leftovers with our families. The taste, the value, the service... it really can't be beat. We've already decided we'll be tracking down his foodtruck whenever we can!

We've ordered ribeye from the regular dinner menu and happy hour menu countless times. Our steak tonight had the flavor and texture of a sirloin. I only ever order ribeye, so I know what it should taste like and this tasted NOTHING like a ribeye. We mentioned to the server and said she would let the manager know. He came over and basically told us we were wrong and it was the way they cut it. The couple sitting next to us leaned over and said they didn't want to intervene but they had had the same issue with ordering a ribeye that tasted like sirloin. They didn't want to complain because they had a friend that worked there, but they did eventually let their server know because they felt bad that the manager disregarded our complaint. We were not offered a replacement steak and we're still charged even though we didn't get a ribeye and we didn't eat the steak that was served. Also, I took a picture and imported it into several AI websites that confirmed it was sirloin.

It might've been the search for fried chicken to which Minasa didn't disappoint. We arrived just after opening and happened to get the last open table - after ordering, of course. The restaurant is clean and well put together with darker accents. Our food came out relatively quick - having the chef's special and ube churros. The kalbi sauce soaking into the rice was the perfect balance of flavors. Same for the calamansi fried chicken. Lechon, I must say was also a fine example of how seriously the chefs take their selection of ingredients - as I looked closer, it had the classic 5 layers (shown in my photo). Usually, this is the prime factor in the perfect roast pork - providing juicy layers of pork meat. Overall, this has been the best (new) meal we've had in a LONG time. It was so delicious, I could only wish there was a way to share this place with a larger collection of diners because frankly, if you haven't tried this place, I honestly think you're missing out on the definition of culinary art. Each dish carefully crafted with the goal of providing the best experience to all the patrons. I seriously seriously hope you all have a chance to visit. If we're ever back on this side of the island, we won't hesitate to stop by.

They talked it up and hyped it up so my wife and I decided to try it out last October for our anniversary. We showed up and they were closed for an event. Since then we've tried to eat here multiple times with it being booked or not open. It's been elusive. Last weekend was the weekend we finally were able to eat here being in Waipahu and the wait finally ended! We ordered the chef's special, salted egg fried rice, ube churros, and banana lumpia sundae. The dishes were colorful and vibrant. Everything tasted good but we were looking for that twist that was hyped up to us and there was nothing unfamiliar to our taste buds. Though we left full and enjoyed our meal, the "new" flavors didn't stand out. Overall we were quite underwhelmed especially with all the hype that was given to us over their food. Maybe I ordered the wrong things? Not sure but we'll likely give this a second shot when we're in Waipahu again at the right time.
