The other day, I had a wardrobe emergency after spilling sticky hot coffee all over myself. This is not the first time Goodwill has saved me during one of these situations. (The first also involved coffee, but the Goodwill that time was on 22nd and Kolb.) I'm not going to lie, it is really overwhelming to go in and see bins everywhere. I just followed everyone's lead and started looking for what I was after. I'm a zaftig gal, so for me to find clothes that fit here was a *little* trickier than it would be for someone else. But I said to hell with it, threw caution to the wind, and started rummaging through those bins like I had an idea as to what I was doing. Eventually I found a pair of pinstriped "business shorts", if that's a real thing that exists. I feel like I should be driving a train because the pattern looks like an engineer's cap. I love them so much. I also was able to pick up a cover for our futon, a beautiful openwork crocheted blanket (I'm going to tell people I made it myself if they ask), a neat green pillow our little dog likes to sunbathe on,and a table runner that's going to look just beautiful during our first Thanksgiving in our brand new house. I also accidentally ended up with a training bra (it got caught up in the blanket and I didn't realize it was there until I got home). So, while this isn't an experience everyone will enjoy, if you have some time and patience, you can find some really cool things. Just like my super cool engineer business shorts. ;)

This is an unusual 'Outlet Center' even for a Goodwill…read more The store is unlike any other second hand store in that this location strictly seems to deal with clothing -only, on large tables. It seems to be a hit because April/2022, it was jam packed FULL of people digging through thousands of pounds of piles of clothes. Recommend: Not sure, but if you're looking for incredibly low prices on clothing, this store is for you! Reminder; nothing else is distributed at this location.

Started to pick up a little when we left around 130. I can see potential as the space is huge, got my steps in just walking around. There was a Kid area with some rides, lot of food places, and even has a stoned in Koi Pond. Restrooms were plentiful and pretty clean. Spoke to a few vendors, everyone was pretty friendly & polite. Made a couple of purchases, some from the booths, and from tables. Picked up some cool items, what you would expect from a Swap Meet. We will have to try at night and maybe after Covid settles down. Plenty of Parking, and signage insisting on Masks being worn. Overall, not a bad place to kill a couple hours & maybe find some deals.

Finally made it out to the Tanque Verde Swap Meet and it was pretty slim pickings this time of…read moreyear. There's a small food truck area and a cute little coffee setup, but not much for vegan options and overall it just didn't quite hit for me. That said, I'll always appreciate spaces like this that give local entrepreneurs and creatives a place to show up and share their work. There was a lot of Torrid, which was a nice surprise. And also a lot of LulaRoe. I picked up an amazing chunky sweater/poncho type thing that probably was pretty pricey new, a pair of jeans, and a REALLY cute blouse (which is unfortunately too tight in the arms and has no stretch. *sadface*) HUGE book department and more DVDs than I was expecting! There is also a great selection of wares and then my favorite, the china aisle. I found an authentic Wedgwood plate (!!!!) and scored some super cool looking glass dessert plates - which as luck would have it, were 50% off today. I'm not gonna lie, the china was more expensive than I've seen it go for at other Goodwills, but the collections were also considerably larger than just one or two random Walmart plates stuck together with clear packing tape. Some of the plates were six or more to a set, and most of them were really nice. Not your usual Corningware stuff you see all the time. In fact - I got an authentic Wedgwood plate here for $4! (I might have texted my mom from the parking lot, I was so excited by that!) I live very close to the Goodwill Outlet, and it's great, but it's am experience you don't always want to engage in. As a transplanted Southsider (we recently moved from Fort Lowell and Country Club), I'm slowly beginning to find my way around and am always delighted at what I'm discovering. There's never been a line which means I can wait for those adjustments. I have Continental Gatorbacks which are notoriously difficult to change out. I had a race this wknd and decided to hedge my risk after training all winter by having thornless tubes installed last week. The charge was $15/tube and $10 labor per wheel, so $50 total for both tube replacements (totally reasonable). It took barely 15 minutes which was nice and the mechanic shared a few pointers during the process. Unfortunately, one tube came with a bad valve and it "revealed" itself mid-triathlon resulting in my first ever DNF :-/ I brought the bike back the following day and the young gentleman (same guy) confirmed the bad valve. He replaced the tube for free but then said he'd have to charge me another $10 labor. I thought he was joking at first but then he said the boss would likely be on the fence about comping this circumstances entirely so I just paid him the additional $10. Parking can sometimes be a little challenging but otherwise, all things considered, this is a good little shop for quick repairs or adjustments.

He was incredibly attentive, interactive, and very specific about matching the bike to my body size, carefully aligning my proportions with the proper frame and tires. You can tell he genuinely cares about getting it right. As first-time bike renters preparing for the largest biking tour in Tucson, we were nervous. We asked for help getting fitted, and they went above and beyond--not just a quick adjustment, but genuine human kindness. They adjusted the seat, watched our posture, and even encouraged us to ride the bike on the side of the shop so they could observe and fine-tune it. They took their time, never rushed us, and made sure we felt confident and comfortable. We rented the bikes for 5 days for only $200 (about $40/day), which is an incredible deal--especially considering other shops in Tucson quoted $100-$200 per day for the same type of bikes. The value is amazing, but honestly, the exceptional service is what makes this place stand out. Phenomenal care, rare to find nowadays. These gentlemen made all the difference in our first cycling experience. Highly recommend!

Once we got serious about taking action I called Paramount and spoke with Rob. We made an appointment for later that day. We had a phenomenal experience. Rob knew a lot about cars generally and diesels specifically. We were looking at a diesel VW Passat. I jokingly complimented him for being a bit of a geek. I much prefer a knowledgeable and friendly geek over a high-pressure salesperson. We like the car but had promised ourselves to consider a couple of other options. One large dealership on Speedway didn't bother to come out to greet us at all - not even after touring the entire lot. We pulled up in a 2016 Ford F-350 so we didn't look as broke as we were. LOL! The second larger dealership we went to on Alvernon also did not greet us until we'd toured half the lot and came to the porch to "bother" the salesman, who ended up being condescending. We couldn't get back to Paramount fast enough that afternoon! We ended up with the Passat and love it! The whole process from selection and negotiation with Rob to financing with Al was a pleasure, for what is usually a not so fun experience. Thanks Rob and Al!!! I highly recommend this smaller but much nicer used car dealer to anyone who is serious about getting a good car at a fair price.

Our sales rep didn't hide it well that he knew about this buyer. Told is not to worry, let's get the paper work started. I asked to put a deposit down immediately. Nope, gave them a reasonable offer and told them that was my best. They delayed an answer until the earlier couple came back from a short test drive. Sales rep came out with way high numbers including service contract which I told them was not needed. And a $799 doc fee! I said that won't work and then I was asked to wait and see what the numbers from the other couple were. Nope, not getting into a bidding war. I told the couple to offer whatever they wanted as I would not get into a bidding war and I was out. Followed us out to find out what was wrong. We left and contacted that our rep would like to work something out. This was about 35 minutes after we left. I said I assumed car was sold. Nope, it was still available. So was that couple a plant or did they also not like being told about the situation and realized they weren't taking a weekend test drive? Then another text offering to work out a deal and they would deliver to me. Shady, shady, shady business. I write this same day as I sit waiting to finalize paperwork on the same car at another upfront dealer.
