About 6 months ago, in November 2024, I took my 2009 Honda Pilot to get the alternator replaced,…read morethey also told me that there was a leak, gaskets needed a new one. With additional work, brakes needed new ones. I agreed to pay for all those almost $3000.00. When they called me to pick up my car, I did pick but after driving less then few hundred yards, the engine light showed up. I took it back they said it was fixed, it was not really. I have no idea about the engines, I trusted their word. It was still dripping on my garage floor. Anyway, after another shop had diagnosed my engine, there was a leak. I took my car back to them again. It was under warranty. Well, this time, a young man asked me to open the hood. I did, he lifted the cover over the engine, and he said there was no leak instantly. At that moment, I was very upset. I took it back to another shop to be diagnosed. two mechanics confirmed there was a leak, and they even took a picture of where the leak was. Finally, we came back to them, they lifted the car in the shop, and they could see the leaks. To make a long story short, they were not very friendly to me. Time will show, did they really fix the oil leak? And I noticed, my door locks were not working; when I left my car, all the locks were working. I had to take another shop, they fixed the problem. There are some customers who were happy with their service, but I am not happy with their service. I will never take my car to them, while they are working on one problem, they created another one .

Potential Firestone customer, be wary at this location: The staff here are very friendly, but it is…read moretheir job to sell you services - I was even basically duped into opening a credit card with them. I was told if I open 'an account' I'll get a discount on the tire service I was already there to receive. I thought they meant a Website account where I'd receive promotional emails, etc., but it was actually a credit card account - with a flat rate of 28% APR - that's nuts! I would've never gone for that! I was also advised when I came to pick my car up that there was now a problem with my warning lights in my dashboard (ironic, since I had never had problems until I dropped my car off at this Firestone) and that for $60 they could perform a diagnostic to assess/fix issue. (I'd think since this problem occurred while they were performing related work, they'd fix it, but guess not.) I declined, and while the warning light was on for a moment, fortunately the issue cleared itself up within minutes, and there were no problems with the warning lights in my dash - glad I didn't spend $60 to find that out. Also, a recommendation to the technicians, please leave people's car settings as they are - do not raise their steering wheel or move their seat or adjust their A/C settings, etc. If you do need to do that, please put them back as you found them. Took me 10 minutes to figure out how to adjust my steering wheel back! So, overall, my point is that I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating, but I am going to assume they work on commission, so buyer, be wary! I, personally, will not return to this location.

I was told that I would need to drive from Tucson to Green Valley for the tires to be installed. Since it was already around 4:00 p.m., I was unable to make the trip that day. I then went to their website and scheduled an appointment for the following day to purchase the tires and install them myself, as I am a mechanic. I drove from Tucson to the Green Valley location specifically because they were the only store that had the tires I wanted in stock. When I arrived, I was unexpectedly told that I was required to pay in cash and that they needed to see my ID. None of this had been communicated to me beforehand. The situation felt very unusual and made me uncomfortable, so I decided not to proceed with the purchase and left. Overall, the experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I made the drive from Tucson based on the information I was given, only to arrive and encounter unexpected requirements that should have been explained beforehand. Unacceptable!!!

I explained this upfront and still chose to proceed with a diagnostic to confirm the issue. I was quoted a flat $65 diagnostic fee by the owner with no mention of pricing ranges or tiers. I agreed and scheduled the service. The technician arrived about 30 minutes later than scheduled, which I was informed of ahead of time. During a brief text exchange with the owner, I expressed concern due to a prior negative experience with another company. The response I received made the interaction feel slightly tense, including being told I could "find someone else" if needed. When the technician arrived, I explained the issues and the codes I already had. During the inspection, the technician began deeper inspection work on the vehicle. I was not clearly informed beforehand that more extensive disassembly or work beyond a basic diagnostic could result in additional charges. Afterward, I was told the diagnostic would actually be $200 due to the depth of the inspection, despite originally being quoted $65. After discussing this, I was ultimately charged $75. I expressed concern that the pricing change was not communicated upfront. The owner later acknowledged that he should have communicated a pricing range and that this was a mistake on his part. I requested a copy of the diagnostic findings I was being charged for. The response indicated there was no formal report, but pictures and a summary were provided. Communication afterward included frustration from the business regarding the reduced payment, despite the pricing change being due to lack of prior disclosure. While I do believe the technician performed the inspection thoroughly and provided useful findings, the core issue was the lack of clear communication around pricing structure, scope of work, and potential cost changes before work beyond a basic diagnostic began. I would recommend future customers get very clear written confirmation of what is included in the diagnostic fee, whether deeper inspection can change pricing, and what documentation will be provided before service begins.
