Behold the wizened visage of Ye Semi-Retired Part-Timer, manning his post deep within aisle 10 of the Home Depot Fortress. "They just don't let us have a whole lot of blanks". Contrast mightily with Behemoth Lowe's, where blank is the expression, and no help whatsoever is the answer, formed by a shrug. At last, to True Value Hardware. True Value Hardware guy looks quizzically at The Key Which Fits My Bike Lock And Is Like No Other Key On The Face Of The Earth. Chin in hand, thoughtful, "Hmm." "We don't have a blank for that. I'm pretty sure I can cut another one down and trim it a little..." Grinding wheel spins, sparks fly and: "Here, try this. Come back and pay for it if it works." Hail the Keymaster!

I called first to ensure they had the paint and supplies I needed and the older guy on the other end of the phone sounded like he had better things to do. Worse, when I arrived, the guy was so dry and unfriendly and barely spoke and I tried to talk to him and tell him what I needed and he just pointed. Not sure what his problem was but I was surprised a small hardware store like this would allow an employee like that work a any shift let alone a weekday. I will be sure to skip this place and go up the street to Aubuchon next time.

When I decided my garish paint in the living room had to go he said to Go to sherwin-Williams. It's way smaller than Home Depot or lowes but man they pack a lot of product in that small Space. I'm not sure what the parking issue is since they have a decent sized lot and it's never that busy that you can't find a spot. I go in no problem and this was during miserable spring five o clock traffic. I went in and started to peruse paint. This is where this place shines. Within a few moments of my arrival an employee came over and said hello and asked if I needed help. I said I was fine just looking for paint. Most people would have left it at that and said ok let me know if you need help. Not this guy ! He said well what are you painting ? I said my Living room. He asked what color I had and when I told him I wanted to change my very bright room he said to Me that the colors I had chosen were going to be too bright and showed me the ones that would be more muted. He also pointed out some Design brochures to see some color Scheme options. Wow. I work for a very customer oriented company and this is exactly how we are taught to " qualify " and "recommend " what they need. This man did just that. It was a short interaction but was enough to blow me away. I'm glad my dad insisted I go there and will continue to go there for my painting needs.

The week before we went shopping, we received a coupon from Sherwin-Williams that made our decision pretty easy. There's ample parking, but getting into the lot can be tricky on a weekend if you are unfamiliar with Mineral Spring Avenue. The store is very clean and well-stocked. The people there were very friendly and you can tell that they knew their paint. I also appreciate that the cashier did not try to oversell us; in fact, he talked us out of buying more! We originally thought we would need three cans for the kitchen, and he suggested we buy only two. Boy was he right! We ended up needing only one can, so three would have been overkill. The whole shopping experience was quick and easy. The paint was a bit pricey, even with a coupon, but it was worth it. The quality of the paint is much better and in a high-traffic area like the kitchen we both feel better knowing that we went with a more durable paint!

The good: the attention, the knowledge, and the honesty of the planner Brandon was outstanding. If…read morethis review was only about him it would be an easy 5 stars. The bad: they shipped us the wrong cabinet doors. This was frustrating, but we talked to Brandon (who had put the order through correctly) and we agreed that we would put up the cabinets and wait the 3-4 weeks for the correct doors. This was done, but when we went to put up the new doors the hinges were not in a uniform placement meaning several new screw holes needed to be drilled. Also, now that the summer is here and the wood has swelled slightly not all of the doors close flush (even after adjustments). Overall I'd still recommend Mozzone, but definitely thoroughly check the shipment before you accept it.
