With the long and drawn out babble I just read, I think it's safe to say I hit a nerve. Bitter truth tends to do that. You think because you're a woman that you don't do things like that? Really? Your the owner but you are going to pass the buck to this Jo Tinker huh? The "fact-based information in which you do have available"? You can't even pull up the information of a 5,000 quote? Not much of a owner if you don't know what your shop is doing. Here it is: Our car broke down on Christmas eve while we were out of town, visiting Williamsburg, VA. Of course, most businesses were closing early that day, if they were open at all. We figured automotive repair options would be impossible to find. Someone gave us the phone number for Lawrence's Mechanic on Wheels. Lawrence turned out to be our Christmas angel. After speaking with my husband on the phone, Lawrence had a pretty good idea what was wrong with the car. He called his parts supplier and ordered the part he thought we'd need. They left it outside for him to pick up because they were just closing for the day as well. Lawrence came to our car in his mobile repair unit, took a few minutes to verify that his diagnosis was correct, then went to pick up the part. He was back in a jiffy, fixed our car, and saved our Christmas vacation. And he's such a nice guy too! Lawrence, you rock! Thanks so much! :-)

They've been in business for years, and it shows--not just in their experience, but in how they treat people. I brought my car in expecting a major repair, and instead of upselling me, they walked me through what actually needed to be done and what didn't. That kind of honesty is hard to come by. They took the time to explain everything clearly, never pressured me, and made sure I understood my options. In a time where it feels like everything is about squeezing out more money, this shop stands out for doing the opposite--being fair, transparent, and genuinely looking out for their customers. If you want a mechanic you can trust long-term, not just for one visit, this is the place. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.
