I took my Jeep in to have the ABS and Traction Control lights fixed. I did the diagnostic myself and told Jerry's exactly what I needed done. I was told they still had to do their diagnostic and charged me $60. Their diagnosis was the same as mine. I was told the fix is a $20 part, some new wire and labor ($200). I agreed and paid the $60 diagnostic and approved the $200 repair. I got my Jeep back and the lights were off. A few days later, the exact same lights and code came back!!! I called Jerry's and they said they would look at it and it was warranted for 90 days. The next day, I was told that the problem was the ABS pump and its now $2200. Why did they do a diagnostic and tell me the fix if all they were going to do was start changing parts hoping they could fix it? If I wanted to change parts until I got it right, I could have done that myself! I expected a lot more from a shop that considered themselves a professional auto mechanic shop. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I've been searching for a trusted mechanic for years and I have definitely found one. First time here I had to get my alternator replaced and their estimate was half of what the dealer I took it to before said it would cost me. Then when I come pick up my car it's even $100 cheaper than what they originally said. Then I had to come back about a month later because both my belts had broken and whether it was their fault or not they replaced them and checked alternator and tensioners for completely free! I took my car into Jerry's for a routine service request. They worked quickly and efficiently, which I appreciated because I was driving to Chicago the next day. Also of note, I had a transmission problem on the horizon. Jerry and his team took the time to walk me through the situation (shedding light on something I knew little about at the time) knowing I had a long drive ahead of me. They pulled in opinions and recommendations from their industry relationships in the area to see what solutions were immediately available. This allowed me to evaluate my options and weigh risk with all the information needed so I could make an informed decision on how to proceed. I could not have confidently made a decision without the added effort and research from Jerry's Garage. In the end I felt I was treated like a family member and I had a successful drive back to Chicago. Don't waste your time or money. "Jerry" has retired, and the kids that run this place have no clue about customer service or mechanical repair. My vehicle spent three weeks there, and all I could do at the end was simply take it back and have it fixed somewhere else. Not worth the consideration. read more
