Hello all! My 19 yo daughter's 2010 Hyundai has had problem after problem for... well... forever it…read moreseems. Her dad tried being a way-out-of-his-league mechanic every time her car just decided it needed to rest for a bit in the driveway. That car had schädenfreude making our lives h-e-double hockeysticks. Last Thursday my daughter and I were fed up with waiting for... for him to MaGiCaLlY discover and fix the problem. So I went searching for the best mechanics in the 'Burg (is that still the cool thing to say?). The overall consensus was Eagle Eye Automotive Williamsburg. I called them up and spoke with this über awesome guy named Ryan there and explained our saga. He confidently said, "I'll fix it no problem. Bring it in. I got you, fam." (Not an exact quote.) Sold. Tow it there. Friday he discovers the problem. Easy fix, apparently. He did indeed have us as fam. Monday that old lazy car was all ready to go. Price was very reasonable. Ryan was one awesome mechanic and person in general. So... TL;DR Go to Eagle Eye Automotive to get your broke down car/truck/SUV/whatever squared away and Ryan and that crew will handle it like the highly competent (and cool) mechanics they are.

They've been in business for years, and it shows--not just in their experience, but in how they treat people. I brought my car in expecting a major repair, and instead of upselling me, they walked me through what actually needed to be done and what didn't. That kind of honesty is hard to come by. They took the time to explain everything clearly, never pressured me, and made sure I understood my options. In a time where it feels like everything is about squeezing out more money, this shop stands out for doing the opposite--being fair, transparent, and genuinely looking out for their customers. If you want a mechanic you can trust long-term, not just for one visit, this is the place. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

With the long and drawn out babble I just read, I think it's safe to say I hit a nerve. Bitter truth tends to do that. You think because you're a woman that you don't do things like that? Really? Your the owner but you are going to pass the buck to this Jo Tinker huh? The "fact-based information in which you do have available"? You can't even pull up the information of a 5,000 quote? I had my cars serviced at European Cars of Williamsburg for over 15 years, and I will never…read morerecommend them again. They use cheap parts that do not last, forcing you to pay for the same repair multiple times. Funny how original parts can last 75,000 miles or more, but their cheap parts last a tiny fraction of that. In the worst case scenario, I lost my VW Passat when their cheap timing belt broke 25,000 miles prematurely, destroying the engine, the timing belt I had paid them TWICE to replace to avoid this exact problem. They shrugged and did not care. Unfortunately I still had not learned my lesson about their cheap parts. In the second worst case scenario, my BMW's fuel pump failed in 2022. What should have been a one-day fix turned into nearly two years of utter frustration with my car randomly stopping in traffic because of their crappy fuel pump. I was forced to have the car towed at least five times, each time they assured me it was fixed. So then on Mother's Day weekend 2023, my car stopped in Philadelphia. I had it towed again. This mechanic told me the cheap Chinese pump was zip-tied together to keep from falling apart. He cobbled it back together so I could drive home. Once again, Gus and Chris swore up and down they would replace it with a real pump. Sure. Sure they did. The next time the car randomly stopped, I had the car towed to German Autowerks in Yorktown, where those mechanics removed the fuel pump and showed me the QR code that went straight to a Chinese company. I paid again to have a real German BMW fuel pump installed, and my car has not randomly stopped since. I cannot stress enough the utter frustration and danger of my car randomly stopping in traffic solely caused by the cheap fuel pump installed by European Cars of Williamsburg. I used to think it was so nice to support a family business, but they did not care how much money, frustration, and danger they caused me and my family. They cost me so much money! I now question every part they used in my cars, and I absolutely will never trust them again. I also question their inspector, because my Volvo had an issue with the handbrake, which European Cars of Williamsburg repeatedly passed inspection, but German Autowerks told me the handbrake was frozen and non-functional, which is what I thought. I also paid European Cars of Williamsburg twice to replace the windshield wiper motor on my Volvo. Just waiting to see when that quits again. Beware.
