It's been a while since I've been on a horse and this was the first ride for my kiddo. Before I forget to mention the barn is equipped with helmets if you would like one which is so awesome! After filling out the paperwork they give a brief tutorial before your ride on how to stop/start/ guide the horse to do what you want which was really helpful. The horses were so sweet and gentle my daughter rode Simon, I rode Rusty, and my husband got Bella. The trail was great a little narrow at times between trees but the horses definitely kept us on track and going smoothly. My husband ended up getting the sweetest horse who loved to stop every couple of minutes for snacks so every time we looked back he was a bit behind us lol! It made for a great moment that we will remember and laugh about for years to come! Our guide was very knowledgeable and great with my daughter who despite being nervous beforehand rode like she had been riding her whole life! Proud mama moment for sure!! Their barn cat greeted us when we got back and was all purrs & brushing up against our legs such a little cutie (check out the picture). We got to meet all of the other horses and fed our horses a treat in their buckets after the ride! We had a fantastic time and we really enjoyed the horses and the beautiful scenery! If you love horses whether you're a beginner or just want a great spot to get back in the saddle check this place out for sure! It's a blast!!

We came yesterday and I genuinely can't stop thinking about how special it was…read more I called last minute in the afternoon after my little one woke up from his nap, not really expecting much -- but they fit us in that same day. From the moment we arrived, Ray made us feel so welcome. He had the horse ready for us, walked us through everything, and was so patient and attentive making sure my little one felt safe and comfortable the whole ride. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does. What we didn't expect was everything that came after. We got to explore the petting zoo, meet the farm animals, and then a staff member came over and introduced us to a baby goat that was only a few days old, my little one's face was absolutely priceless. And then the moment that made this visit truly unforgettable, while my son was laughing away on the horse shaped tire swing, I glanced over and noticed a wobbly little goat behind us. Turns out we were witnessing a mama goat giving birth right there in front of us. Completely unplanned, totally magical. My little one got a nature lesson he'll probably never forget. This place has the most wonderful energy and the staff clearly care deeply about both the animals and their guests. We will absolutely be back. Highly recommend!

I'm an experienced rider and my husband is a beginner, and our guide, Dave, did a fantastic job matching us with horses (and a mule!) that fit our individual experience levels. He also tailored the trail and ride to our abilities, which made the experience fun and memorable for both of us. For our second ride, it had been raining quite a bit, so Dave took us on a one-hour route where the trails were dry enough and safe for the horses. We really appreciated that their safety and well-being came first, and we still had an amazing time. Both rides were such a highlight of our trip. Thank you, Dave, for being such a great guide and for making us feel so welcome in Blue Ridge! We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in the area

My husband, my son and I took the 2 hour Valley River Ride. My son and I have never been on a horse before and Jess made me feel so comfortable riding with her instructions and passion that I didn't feel nervous at all. It seemed like the horses were perfectly matched with each of our personalities as well. The prices are fair, the horses are well taken care of and trained, the staff are awesome and it was just an all around great experience. It was a beautiful ride and if we are in the area again I will definitely use Cowgirl Up Stables again.

I would have loved to have been able to go - the trail photos look fun but unfortunately (more…read morefortunately tbh) my friend found out she was pregnant 5 days before our booking and realized it's not safe for her to go at this point in her early pregnancy. I called the phone number directly listed with the business 5 days before, left a voicemail and also messaged the auto-response that prompts you to text should you need anything. No one got back to me for five full days, until the morning of my booking. Magan the owner emailed me saying I didn't follow instructions, and took effectively no ownership of ignoring my voicemail for five days. I understand I didn't follow an incredibly narrow policy of 'emailing the confirmation email to cancel' and honestly would have been fine paying some cancelation fee as ultimately I did miss the unbelievably specific instruction in the email... What makes me genuinely upset, and even frustrated, was the level of professionalism and communication I was met with. Magan dodged any responsibility to overtly neglecting the phone number that she listed with her business, and said I ignored instructions, meanwhile ignoring all my outreach well in advance. If you don't answer your phone or check your voicemails, you shouldn't have a phone number listed with your business. Furthermore, she then never told me she still processed the charge - just that I "didn't follow instructions" and went ahead and charged my card without informing me No response, no respect, no professionalism whatsoever. My Airbnb recommended this place and after what I experienced on the admin side alone, I've let them know they should change their guidebook. I'm genuinely sad - it looked like it would have been fun. I have total respect for people's time and effort (hence why I called five days prior right when I found out about my friend) and would have been fine paying a portion of the fee had the interaction felt at all like there was respect or professionalism.

We went to the office and were met by the RUDEST person I have encountered in a long time and it turned out that she, Tamara, is the barn manager. Unbelievable to be treated in such a harsh and unfriendly manner, in front of my 7 year old daughter, at a COUNTY PARK. I am a DeKalb Co resident so my tax money is paying for this kind of behavior. I worry what the horses themselves must experience as well as her staff and anyone else who has to deal with her. A personality like that should not be in the position of dealing with the public. Unbelievable!

They are usually closed to the public except for these events. They had a ton of volunteers wearing matching vests which was really helpful. You parked on a residential street and got to walk through the conservancy and look at horses in the field. Then came the fun part. Kids 4 and up could ride on a pony for $5. They did 2 huge round a outs in the corral. You sign a waiver, learn about the conservancy via a waiver, and wait in line to ride the horse. In the meantime they teamed up with DH high (I think) what was selling chicken biscuits and snacks as well as doing face painting. They had 7 horses in the corral that kids were riding in. We are not talking tiny little things either. They were huge! Afterwards, you got to walk by the area at that the horses stay in and could read about them and see any awards the won. They also had free arts and crafts projects setup like making horse puppets. They offer riding lessons, but I didn't tell my kids because I am nervous that they will want a horse.
