Our daughter has only taken lessons for a year but she has really excelled with their training! Perhaps the facilities aren't as new and pretty as some of the North Fulton stables, but I can definitely say her Camp experiences were night and day from one in Milton (2010, very basic) versus Falcon Ridge (2011, more fun for her, more in-depth lessons). Looking forward to seeing her continue to learn and do more in the future! Big fan!

Her young "trainer" just kept yelling at her to use her legs, but I could tell she was frightened and didn't know what that meant. The part of the covered arena she was using wasn't entirely covered, so the rain was still getting in, there was lots of mud that her pony did not want to go in, and yet she was with 3 other riders who were having their own lesson using one jump in this tiny area. One of the other girls almost ran into my daughter and then her trainer yelled at her! There were 8 other riders, with 2 different trainers who, maybe because they owned their own horses, were lucky to have the rest of the covered arena although there were lots of horses and riders charging around. What a mess! 12 horses, 12 riders, 3-4 trainers, parents everywhere - chaos. Maybe this place is ok when it's sunny and they can use different riding areas, but things seemed dangerous - I wasn't the only parent that was anxious! Finding somewhere else to ride.

I recently moved my horse to Jaid stables at the beginning of September. It has been an amazing month with top notch care and attention to my horse. In addition to their 5 star boarding, the trainers are top notch! My horse receives training rides once a week and is already showing vast improvements on the flat and over fences. My weekly lessons are always engaging and present new but feasible challenges that help me grow and become a better rider. The rider's head is three feet away from unprotected overhead fluorescent lights, legs can get caught on stall hardware... riding in barn aisles is strictly against the rules at any reputable facility for these reasons. Plus, you don't actually learn how to ride if all you do is walk/trot up and down a barn aisle. There was also no instruction on horsemanship skills included in the lessons. What's more, Valerie is stunningly rude. I was introduced to her, and when she was told about my national championship hunter/jumper experience, the first words out of her mouth to me were a curt, "I'm sorry." Let's be clear that this place specializes in saddlebred riding, which is not exactly the pinnacle of equestrian sport. Valerie only became interested in me when she found out how I make my living and saw dollar signs. This place is a hazard. This is not the equestrian experience you are looking for.

I worry what the horses themselves must experience as well as her staff and anyone else who has to deal with her. A personality like that should not be in the position of dealing with the public. They are usually closed to the public except for these events. They had a ton of volunteers wearing matching vests which was really helpful. In the meantime they teamed up with DH high (I think) what was selling chicken biscuits and snacks as well as doing face painting. They had 7 horses in the corral that kids were riding in. We are not talking tiny little things either. They were huge! Afterwards, you got to walk by the area at that the horses stay in and could read about them and see any awards the won.
