I called Rocky Point Cesspool (RPCS) and Ralph's yesterday around noon and left voicemails. Ralph's was highly recommended by my neighbor and I found great reviews online. My landlord previously used RPCS about 6 years ago and had it written down for us in case of an emergency. Dana from RPCS called me back at 2:30 pm and called again before 5 pm (unfortunately I missed the 2nd call, stating that they could come out right away). I called back during a work break and made an appointment for 8:00 to 8:30 am today. Dana was very polite and professional on the telephone. Ralph's finally called back later that night to say they could come tomorrow and she said Ralph would call later in the evening to schedule (we planned to cancel with RPCS if Ralph's followed through, which they didn't). So, we kept the appointment with RPCS.
Neal with RPCS arrived promptly at 7:59 am. We weren't sure if the septic tank was full or had a blockage. Neal arrived and immediately began digging. He knew exactly where the septic tank was located either because he remembered from years earlier or because he had this cool GPS looking tool, or both! This was our first experience dealing with the septic tank besides putting Rid-X in the toilet every month! As soon as he opened the tank a foul smell emanated.. pee yewww! He quickly discovered that the tank was clogged. He pumped out the blockage and was done by 8:22. He was friendly, talkative and we were able to pay by credit card over the phone, which was convenient. The bill was $244.40. Luckily, i'll be subtracting that from my rent. If there is ever an issue in the future, I'd still like to try Ralph's to compare (i've heard that his hours are more like 2nd shift, but that he's very honest and fair with pricing).. however my experience with RPCS was quick, efficient and painless. They were dependable when we needed immediate service and the first to call and nail down an appointment, which definitely counts for something in my book! read more
