But I hope I can fix the issue so he does not come back, I know I can call Ben for all future issues.

We were selling our home and the buyer used Al Dexter Septic & Drainage (it's who they could get on…read moreshort notice). The man who did the inspection effectively scared the buyer away after noticing the tank level was a bit lower than normal. He began to share conjecture about what the issue could be and essentially said the problems were so bad that they could not be solved. Because of this, the buyer backed out without any willingness to get a second opinion or negotiate. We since had two other reputable and longstanding septic companies in Fairfield County come out to look at the system. The issue turned out to be a very small leak near the drainage pipe of the septic system - a minor $1,200 fix. After having to pay $2K for these other companies to evaluate the problem, we then had to take an offer tens of thousands of dollars less than our original - which we were fortunate enough to have on hand. I'm sure this service is fine for an annual tank pump out, but I would beware when it comes to inspections.

He then recommended Battlin' Barry as the people to call. The company sent Tommy, who is as cheerful, polite and positive a guy you'll ever want to meet. He was sympathetic to the problem and assured us he would help us out. Sure enough despite the problem being much more severe than thought originally, Tommy triumphed. He used every bit of his experience to tackle this clog. Even when he got a face full of muck, he was still smiling and upbeat. He cleaned up thoroughly and didn't charge us as much as those heavily advertised guys would have. I'd recommend these guys any day of the week.

We had been satisfied with the response time and service before and assumed we would get the same again. They came promptly and attempted to clear the line, but after a half hour told me the line was clogged with roots and could not be opened and presented me a bill for the failed clean out, took my check and left. We waited for almost a week for them to give us a $2500 quote to replace the lateral. Before spending that kind of money we opted for a second quote. When I explained the situation to the new company, Their first suggestion was to let them try to clear the drain. Within five minutes snaking the line, the clog was cleared! I gladly paid them to finish Dave's job and threw away Dave's quote. The next day, I decided to call Dave Lange to tell them what happened and to ask what their refund policy was in this situation. The woman who answered the phone, took my message and promised to call back. Several days later with no return phone call I called again. This time, a man, who I assumed was an owner, answered the phone. He seemed a bit evasive about any kind of reparation, but promised me he would discuss it with someone and call me back. Another week later I called again and left a message with no return phone call. Another week later I called back and gave them one last opportunity to call me back. That was a week ago and still no callback! I am not upset that they couldn't do the job right the first time. I'm upset that they had no customer service follow up. Not even a courtesy call. Nothing! They had no problem taking our money for an unfinished job. But they did not value our business enough to make a simple phone call. Terrible customer service. Terrible business ethic.
