OK. I booked a 10am reservation this morning at the Cherry Creek East location today, but there was no one there until 10:20am. The young woman claimed that she was told no one had made a reservation at 10am, but that was not the case. I don't understand why no one was there are 10am if you web page says you are open at 10am. read more

We came here after we spent a morning at Sprague Lake at the Rockies. This location at the Boulder Reservoir was one of the few places that still had rental equipment available on our drive back. Most rental places closed by 5 or 6 pm so we were grateful to find this place. We paid $25 for each thing we got - 3 paddle boards and 2 double kayaks for a total of $125. More folks ended up wanting to paddle board so they were flexible with us trading in but said we couldn't trade things in once we got out into the water. It's nice bc in Colorado a lot of places require a rental and then delivery to the actual lake for an additional charge. This place does not bc it's right near the water. The reservoir is big enough so that it's easy to go out pretty far. Great place for quick kayaking or paddle boarding, which we did for an hour and it was enough. The only downsides to this place are that their location on yelp and google are wrong, telling us to drive further past the reservoir so that even when you get into the reservoir area (instead of past it like online sites tell you) the place is still not easy to find with some small flags to demarcate the place. It's not where all the initial gear is that we saw first so that was also a bit frustrating (we had to calll them figure out where they were). Another downside is that the life jackets are just not pleasant - mine smelled like a combination of pee and sweat - it was gross bc it was strong! So they should work to improve those things since it's under their control. read more

Love them! At Union Res ... My inflatable paddleboard was no longer an inflatable paddleboard ... so they were quick to help me troubleshoot and eventually help me get a rental so my CSU daughter and I could enjoy a quick Sept afternoon on the water! Nice decals they have as well! read more

I had a great time paddleboarding . But it was a little strange cuz the guy helping me get the paddle board to the beach smelled badly like a bottle of liqour and was so drunk that I couldn't really cominicate with him or vice versa I had ordered a t-shirt with my session online but well he was so inabrated I decided not to ask because it seemed getting the paddle board was hard enough for the guy all and all it was a good experience I didn't know how to time how long I was out without my phone so think of th at also there's not much to look at on that reserve but it's great exercise and I enjoyed my time. I'm writing this review for the Boulder Reservoir location as I was there last week. Both Ethan & Julia were so helpful, polite, friendly and efficient. I was in town with some girlfriends from California and the girlfriend we were staying with thought a day at the reservoir would be fun and it was, a lot had to do with your staff. I am a flight attendant for a major airline and passengers are always asking what to do in certain cities and you can bet this will be on my list of recommendations for the Denver area! We rented a two person kayak and a large paddle board. Thank you for hiring such GREAT employees!! read more

I have rented from a couple of their locations and found the staff pleasant and helpful and the equipment is in good shape. The booking process is quick and simple on their website. Tip: if you rent at the Cherry Creek reservoir wear water shoes. You have to walk the board out over rocks and they are painful and slippery when barefoot! read more

We have now rented paddleboards and kayaks from Rocky Mountain Paddleboard 3 times at Union Reservoir in Longmont. What an awesome experience to have just a couple miles out of town! I make my reservation online and then it is fast and easy once you arrive. Just let them know you are there, give them an ID or credit card to hold onto, and then you get your gear and go. Union Reservoir has really gorgeous views of the mountains once you get out into the water. And it is wake-free, so boats aren't going to rock you off your board. This is the perfect way to try out paddleboarding and kayaking. FYI: there is an $8 fee per car to go into the reservoir for the day. read more

When they say arrive 15 minutes early, listen! You have to go through a training and life jacket fitting etc etc on top of a huge line trying to get into the State Park (Cherry Creek). however, my friend and I were experienced paddle boarders and we still had to listen to the 10-15 minute training which left us less and less time to paddle board. I had such a blast taking a 2 hour SUP lesson at the Boulder Res. It was a group lesson and my instructor was awesome. He was knowledgeable and friendly, going out of his way to make sure we all felt confident and had fun. I am a jerk and can't remember his name..it started with a T and was something like Travis/Taylor, maybe Trevor? Don't take my lack of remembering as a judgment on how awesome he was because he was great. I can't wait to go back and rent a board on my own. I feel totally confident to do so after just 1 lesson. I was also pleasantly surprised that it feels like a good workout...not necessarily cardio but I engaged my whole core to stay balanced and paddle (given balance is not my strongest attribute this may be more true for me than most). There is a bit of a line when you get there so I would advise going there 15 min early. I would also advise to bring your ID before you have to run to the parking again to go get it... even if you have a reservation! The overall experience was pretty good, friendly staff! read more

I'm still swooning and all starry-eyed from my first date with Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP). Fellow Yelper, Carly B., saw a groupon deal for a lesson and a bunch of us decided to grab the deal and try it out. My first date with SUPing definitely started out on the wrong foot. I was a bit grumpy upon arriving at the Union Reservoir in Longmont, because we had to park far away (about 2 miles?) due to a triathalon and had to hoof it in the flips. When we arrived, the park's bathrooms were all locked (again, d/t the triathalon) and we had to use the port-o-potties (euuuuwwww!). GRUMP GRUMP GRUMP. I was really ready to call it off. But fine. I'm with a group and we all paid $$ for this adventure. After signing a waiver, Shawn (owner?) gathered us up and gave us a short intro to the ins-and-outs of SUP, which lasted about 30 min. He went over how to use the paddle, how to turn, how to get on and stand up, etc. He asked us what our current favorite activity was... and that we should be prepared for SUPing to be our new favorite. I thought he was kinda full of it, but damn. HE WAS RIGHT. Then the best part of the date: We finally got out on the water. Because I'm an adult and free to make stupid decisions for myself, I decided to put my personal floatation device on the front of my board instead of on me (heaven forbid I have ugly tan lines). Shawn then took us through a few exercises to help us practice paddling straight, how to turn, getting up to standing, getting back on the board after falling off, etc. Then we got 30-45 minutes to play on our own. I loved every single minute we spent on the water (maybe not the 1 minute I spent in the water after I tried a "trick"). I can see myself out on the water every weekend that is feasible and blissing out. Next time, I want to bring a small dry/wet bag full of beverages/snacks, maybe some extra sun screen, and a book. Paddling out to the middle of the reservoir, laying down, and soaking in the sun was... heavenly. I just wish RMP had a location closer to Denver. I highly recommend this outfitter for anyone interested in learning how to SUP! read more

We came on a day when it was windy and the water was choppy. I started to have my reservations about such a time. The guy who helped us was laid back and super helpful. Of course we didn't listen to him and paddled down wind first. Oops! So much fun! I learned a lot about the muscles I didn't think I had and it was a very satisfying workout! Don't forget sun block and wear your bathing suit there as there is no place to change. Looking forward to coming back soon! read more

A friend and I rented kayaks at the marina and I couldn't recommend it enough! The views are amazing and there is also a nice beach that you can relax and swim at. Entrance fee for the basin is $7 but it is well worth that amount. read more

Staff was friendly and welcoming, they even reminded us to apply sunscreen and drink water before we left as well as what areas to avoid for our safety. My teen daughter has rented 2 times before and this time was my first time going with her. We had a blast! The staff was friendly, kind and even though I messed up and reserved our paddle boards at one of their other locations, they still honored the reservation for me (luckily they still had a couple of paddle boards available so they were able to do that.) They didn't make me feel stupid about my mistake - much appreciated! :) We loved paddling around the Boulder Reservoir and plan to do this a few more times this summer! My friends and I rented paddleboards from their location at Union Reservoir. Their location is super convenient for the reservoir and the staff was friendly. We rented 2 boards together for 2 hours which was about $60 ($30 per board for 2 hours). I'm certainly no expert but the equipment seemed fine - everything in good shape and matched well to our ability levels. I'd rent from them again. read more

There is no address online so finding them on the lakes is almost impossible. Our first attempt to kayak was stopped by storms at the Aurora CO location. The problem with this was we called 5 TIMES and never got a returned call. We proceeded to the lake to reschedule. After 45 MINUTES of walking around; another party there received a call back from the Boulder location. About 2 minutes later a female lifeguard appears from her car about 50 feet from where we were CLEARLY searching for the kayak rental. She was EXTEMRLY rude and made it appear a an inconvenience she had to get out of her car to do the job she was being paid for. What is even more appalling is there was a group of 4 there who left their ID's to hold a reservation. They had been attempting to contact them for an hour with no success. Once the girl appeared she unlocked the easily breakable plastic box the IDs were in and handed them back. Had she decided she not want to be there or her boss order her back; she would have left these people's identification cards out for the taking. The next day we went to the Boulder location where the staff was very friendly but not to helpful to someone who had never been in a kayak. They are the ONLY reason this company is getting 2 stars and not 1. read more

Awesome experience every time at Rocky Mountain Paddleboard in Longmont! Malena, Scott, Sean and everyone there are all super helpful, friendly and professional! I usually paddle board, but tried kayaking the other day, and really enjoyed that, too...I was surprised how easy kayaking was! There is a new board called a "Hydroboard" which works like an elliptical machine and is steered with something like the hand brakes on a bike. I'm looking forward to trying that, next. The full moon paddle board experience sounds worth trying! read more

Customer services as far as checking for the reservation was quite stressful (in Longmont). Staff at our location were confused about a reservation I had made and were not allowing my family members to board, even though we checked in early, we did not start until almost 20min after our hour-long reservation was supposed to start. Staff got mad when we returned the kayaks 20 min after the hour, stating we were making others "wait", even though another staff member stated we could return them later since they had us start late and we lost a significant amount to the hour we paid for. Additionally, staff member helping resolve the issue was complaining about how tired they were and how they couldn't wait to go home right in front of me and other customers, and also kept prolonging the process of finding my reservation because they had to give ID's and cards back to the 10+ clients who were done with their reservations, instead of attending to one party at a time. The paddle boards and kyaks themselves were awesome to use. It was our first time trying them out. An hour is more than enough. I would rent with them again, however, not looking forward to the potential stress of their customer service. Perhaps they should hire more individuals to make it less stressful for the current employees and make the reservation and use process more fluid.. read more

What a wonderful company from start to finish! We decided to go canoeing last minute on Labor Day. We booked a boat through their website. The process was easy and straightforward. We reached the beach 15 minutes before our start time, as stated within the agreement signed online, and was greeted with friendly staff ready to check us in. The staff were so friendly and professional. They helped us load up the boat and off we went! Once we were finished, the staff offered our son a sticker and tattoo, which made this trip complete! They also spoke to us other options they offer at their other locations. Hands down the best company for your water sport needs! read more
