I visited RockSalt for the first time today and was really impressed with the class structure. Our instructor, Xio, was so kind and motivating, providing a perfect balance between deep stretching and strength building. It was a total body workout that targeted muscles I didn't even know existed! The studio itself is quite aesthetic and has great ventilation and AC, which is a huge plus during a challenging session. The experience is quite convenient because there is a parking lot directly in front of the studio. You don't have to worry about a stressful parking hunt before class. However, I am docking one star because the floors and floor mats were noticeably dirty during my visit. While I definitely plan on coming back for the class, I am hoping to see a bit more cleanliness next time.

Took the class today @10:30am with the instructor Anna. It was my first time here and I selected the strength class, having no idea we would be doing weights but that was fine. There was no formal check in desk, but rather check in on the ipad towards the middle of the room. It is best to come 5 minutes early like the other review mentioned. I don't think grip socks are required because I did see some people go barefoot..... but I'd recommend socks anyways! Bathroom had no amenties like hairties, makeup wipes, deodorant spray (but would be a great touch). This isn't what I'm looking for, in terms of my goals so it will be my last time here.

I was super excited to try my first Pilates class on March 31, with Elise at 5:15 am! She was super nice! It was just two other girls in the class with me so I definitely enjoyed it more! There's a small parking lot right outside which I'm sure is more busy during regular business hours. The facility itself is super clean. My experience overall - it wasn't too hard and I thought it went by fast. I tried this class with my free trial for my class pass and I'll definitely be back! Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to give Pilates a try! I workout regularly and lift heavy so doing Pilates changed up the scene for me which I enjoye

I loved RockSalt. I attended a class with my ClassPass membership and absolutely loved it. The interior is so clean and pretty. The bathroom was clean. The equipments are all new. Instructor was AMAZING and so sweet. Music choice was fun.

I have been going to RockSalt since the beginning of the year. They offer some really good deals for new people, and are also available on ClassPass. It was my first time doing Pilates, and the reformer machine was a little intimidating in the beginning. But after 1-2 classes I felt very comfortable, and all of the instructors are friendly and supportive. The music is also always on point! They book the classes back to back so it's best to arrive only about 5 minutes prior. I have gotten toned and lost a lot of weight since starting RockSalt.

A hidden gem in South San Jose! I recently went to my first Pilates class here. I've done classes at other studios but this has been by far my favorite Pilates studio. Sam was my instructor and her class was challenging but fun and she was very welcoming. I love to see Latina representation in the fitness world. I'll definitely be back to take more classes and can't wait to try new instructors.

Booked a private class for my "Birthday Pilates Party"! It was all of our first time at this Pilates studio and most of our first time doing Pilates. We had Giselle as our instructor and she was so amazing & friendly! She guided us through each step of what we were doing. She also asked what kind of music we would like for her to play! I would definitely go back and book a class with Giselle. (:

When I tried booking it through the app, I selected it on the drop menu, but for some reason it didn't put it for me. I did pay a reduced fee, but I would think that it would know that it was my first time and automatically sign me up for it. When I got there, the instructor told me I had to pay for the socks, but I could email the manager to see if I could get a reimbursement. So the class and socks ended up costing me 40 bucks (18 for socks). For some reason the label said $14, but I was charged 18. Not sure why. First impressions - The instructor seemed nice, but the intro was literally 5 minutes long and then you were on your own. When I started at orange theory, the coach constantly checked in on me to see if I was okay and that made me feel better about starting a new workout. Honestly, I felt like a fish out of water. I had to keep looking at the other girls next to me to see what to do because the instructor was throwing out instructions and unfamiliar terms to me at the speed of light. Also, I could tell the handle bar slack was uneven, but after my friend mentioned that hers was too to the instructor, she said "oh" and that was it so I didn't speak up either. The workout - Man, this burns so good. I thought I would be prepared for it with a year of Orange Theory under my belt, but my body was not ready for it. I can see why it's such a good workout. My legs were still shaking 30 minutes after. I would be up for another class in the future. Just need more exposure to the terminology. Overall it was a great workout. Maybe not the best for someone that is completely new to it, but you got to start somewhere.

I saw multiple people look confused as to where to place things back. I asked if there were wipes so I could wipe down my station and was told that the entire studio was disinfected including every single weight, and all towels were washed. I was doubtful since some of the classes on the class schedule were back to back. So basically they're tone policing me and telling me I looked dissatisfied, and then REPORTED me over that. ****I would personally not recommend going to a studio where they ban people for asking questions and being cautious.**** I went to one class and they banned me for asking for help, which is wild. I came early with my coworker and was excited to work out with her. During the class I moved through all the movements and asked for a modification during a lunge. I also asked for help when I wasn't feeling a stretch at the end of class. The instructor simply said "well I guess you just won't feel it then" and walked away. Other than that, I did not interact with the instructor. 2 days later I received an email saying I was banned because of my "behavior toward the instructor." I think this decision was more about the instructor's ego than anything else. I definitely don't recommend coming here unless you are someone with no fitness background and would rather be in silent pain than ask for help. And don't even bother if you have any sort of problems at all! Knee injury? Back pain? "Guess you just won't feel it then." I also want to share that I had an alternative experience at a local yoga studio where I was tentative about things and despite that, everyone made me feel incredibly welcome and invited me back. Even though it wasn't my cup of tea, I gave it a fair shot and have nothing but great things to say about the studio and team there and reviewed it accordingly. It really doesn't have to end this way, but some businesses are just really feedback-averse and that's disappointing to see.

I'd heard of Lagree but never really knew what it was, and didn't even know this was Lagree going into it, but it's basically a more intense form of pilates that uses a megaformer vs the traditional one. I'm glad I had a base of already working out and trying two other similar classes before coming here, so it was a little less intimidating. I think a beginner could definitely get the hang of this, but having a good foundation felt necessary to get the full benefits of the class and workout. And of course instructor direction and examples were a big factor in succeeding in the classes as a newcomer. I've had a handful of different instructors and have definitely found the one that is more my style and more motivating to me (shout out Ankitha), but I've generally liked all of the instructors enough to go back to their classes. Finding an instructor that works for you makes all the difference though when you're powering through a touch class, which these often are. I originally signed up for their first timers offer of 4 classes for $99. Other than that, without a membership classes run at $38 per, but they have a ton of different packages and memberships that could make classes range from $11 (if you went every single day) to $30 with a larger upfront cost. I ended up getting a class pack so that I wasn't limited or expected to attend a certain number of classes a month and have really liked the flexability. They have tons of classes throughout the day and week, so finding an opening isn't too hard.

What stood out to me was how spacious and aesthetically pleasing the studio is. It gives total "Pilates princess" vibes, and the instructors are so friendly and welcoming. The upbeat, popular music they play adds a motivating energy that makes those tough exercises more bearable! Plus, the reformers are wiped down after each class, and the calming scent in the studio is such a nice touch. What really sets this studio apart from others is that they also offer weight training and HIIT classes which is located next door.
