You cannot go wrong with any of the very many different salads offered at Rocknes. I like to get the side salad, add grilled souvlaki chicken then add a basket of their delicious fries to share. Yelp needs to adjust what can be constituted a "restaurant." This is more of the level of a Denny's Knock Off rather than an actual restaurant. Food quality is that of a fast food "restaurant" and service was that of a gas station where they're annoyed you're even there. I don't know the name of the gentleman who gave me my pickup order at the bar (literally 15 minutes ago), but I have a HISTORY that is WELL known among my friends, family, coworkers, and everyone I've ever met, of bad, bad, BAD luck and ESPECIALLY with food orders (which is why I picked it up, delivery drivers can never find me). I'm also a very picky eater so my orders are almost always wrong or missing something or have something that I requested it to not have. I had requested an addition of bacon bits on my Firestone salad (best thing on the menu, get the buffalo), no tomato, extra cheese, and sub hard boiled egg for pita. Instead of me having to awkwardly open the bag and check that my order was right (in front of him, which always makes me feel weird), he checked through it and read the modifications off of the receipt out loud as he went. He discovered I was missing bacon bits, apologized, went and actually FILLED the little side order container with bacon bits, apologized again, and told me to have a great day. Small things matter. A family favorite for years, no trip to Ohio is complete without a visit here. There's something for everyone on the menu with Mom and my sister favoring salads covered with steak or chicken with lettuce shredded on request and Hartfield's Sweet and Sour dressing. Dad and I went more robust splitting the Terminator sub and enjoying bowls of lobster bisque and my personal favorite mushroom Brie soup (you've got to try it). I hadn't been to Rockne's in a while because they closed the location that was near my house. I noticed this location as I was driving recently and made a mental note of it. My kids had been asking for Rockne's, so we all visited this location, since it's within 20 minutes of home. My parents joined us. Upon arrival, it's apparent that this is just like any other Rockne's. I missed my Southwest Salad with chicken, so that's what I ordered. There were some new items on the menu, but I just wanted my favorite salad. When it was served, it was fresh and delicious, just like I wanted. I ordered burger with onions and mushrooms and fries of course. The child got kids menu and I ordered for him fries and chicken nuggets. When the food arrived I was hugely disappointed... the fries looked horrible and tasted same way. I ate burger what was okay, and I left most of my fries. My kid also did not enjoy his meal... Rockne's was always a great local chain. I fell in love with their salads over ten years ago, and they still have the best pita bread I've ever had! BUT. As of 2020 or so, they've changed their salsas, and the Firestone salad in particular. They still highlight it on the menu as one of the best items to order. That used to be true, along with the Buffalo chicken salad as well. There were a few things that made the Firestone salad really special - 1) the chicken. It was so tender and fresh it melted in your mouth. It was marinated in something really unique and tasted amazing! 2) the sunflower seeds, and 3) their house dressing. Now it's just a dry grilled chicken breast cut into strips on top of some lettuce, cheese, and two tomato wedges. They don't make their house dressing anymore either. Sorry Rockne's, but there's nothing special about that. I can get a mediocre chicken salad anywhere. The only saving grace was it still comes with that amazing pita bread. I won't be back. My first visit here happened to be for lunch by the looks of it many others have made the same choice today. Although the restaurant was nearly full the service was outstanding, the four of us were seated immediately upon arriving at about 12:30 PM mid-week. The menu is filled with a large variety of options so there is definitely something for everyone. Although I eyed the terminator sub I chose the Rockne's Grilled Chicken Salad which arrived in a giant bowl lined with grilled pita bread (I'd ignored the pita so I can't comment on the pita). The salad greens and veggies were fresh, crisp and chilled with nice portions of crispy bacon, sliced and diced Swiss cheese and topped with a perfectly grilled and sliced chicken breast, the chicken breast was moist and tender and seasoned lightly I think this chicken would work well on one of their subs, wraps or sandwiches. I chose hot bacon dressing on the side and it was extremely flavorful, very light and worked very well with this salad. I have been to several Rockne's locations over the years but this may have been the best experience to date. I am sure I'll be back at some point when traveling to the area. read more

We went to Rockne's this weekend with a group of 13 including 4 children. Before I go into reviewing our dinner, I just want to mention that even when you park the car in the giant lot, you are immediately hit with the delicious smell coming from the restaurant! Our group seated in the new enclosed patio. We were seated fairly quickly for a large group on a Saturday night. Our waitress was FANTASTIC! Love Rocknes! I used to go to the one in Kent during college and am glad they are all over Cuyahoga Falls. If you haven't had their black bean soup, you haven't lived! It is amazing!
