If you want good customer service, this is the one to call. The person answering the phone and scheduling was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. It was nice they took the time to look up my property when I called, so they knew the size of the septic tank and location....basically everything they needed to bid the job. Tank pumping is/was two weeks out, but since the county gives you about 3 months noticed to get it done, that wasn't an issue. Pumper arrived on time and got to work. I like to "participate" and don't get offended about what is going on (i.e. Doesn't gross me out). I asked him all sorts of questions and learned something in the process. I was really impressed about how thorough he was. Tank looked brand new inside! Definitely will use them again the next time it needs pumping. read more

Update....I had a problem over the weekend with our septic drain-field. The system is older and over taxed by a large family living with us at the moment. After using a 24 hour weekend service and getting charged $800 for basically nothing, with no confidence the 24 hour guys new what they were talking about, I got a hold of Rita at Rocklan. She spent 45 minutes explaining to me over the phone what was most likely going on, and how we can monitor our system to see if it needs replacing or if it can work for a while if we go easy on it. I had a backed up mess and called Rocklan because they had serviced this house before we bought it. They were out of town and called to apologize for not being able to help me. Soon the phone rang again and they said don't give up yet. Within 10 minutes they located their serviceman and rerouted him to come by in a couple of hrs to save the day! Rita called me back within a few hours the first time and a few minutes later the next few times! The reason we had so many phone calls back and forth is because she was walking me through clearing a blockage over the phone. She pulled up our septic plans and told me what to do and it worked perfectly! Fantastic customer service and easy to schedule an appointment!! Thank you Rita! I called Rocklan requesting a quote for inspection and pumping. The woman that answered the phone pulled up my information, asked a couple questions and gave me a quote for both services. She was very pleasant to speak with and knowledgeable about what I needed. I called around a few other places who weren't so nice on the phone and have the impression I was bothering them, but came in cheaper. Because my initial contact was so nice, I chose to pay a little bit more. The technician was a few minutes late but nothing horrible. He was very nice, moved garbage cans to ensure they weren't blocked for pickup and dug out one cap that I hadn't fully gotten access to. He did his job quickly and thoroughly. Per his inspection I didn't need to have it pumped so I'm good for another 3 years. I will definitely call them again when the time comes. Kindness goes a long way and in today's world, I suppose I'm willing to pay slightly more for it. read more

Very happy with Rocklan. My neighbor recommended them. We bought our house a few years ago and didn't know when it was last pumped so I gave Rocklan a call in early January to schedule a day for them to come out. I was a little worried since they told me that our septic hadn't been pumped since January 2007. They came out on January 27th and we're done within 2 hours. Our septic was in a good condition for not being pumped in ten years! My husband said the guy was very nice and friendly and provided great service. I would recommend them! These guys are AMAZING! Rita answered my husband's phone call at 6:30 in the morning after our septic backed up the night before. She walked him through checking the system himself just in case we really didn't need a service call and as it turns out our filter was clogged and needed cleaning. We need to our system pumped soon as it's been about 5 years and we will be using Rocklan to maintain our septic from here forward. I had a bit of a septic issue back up going on and was frantically trying to find a company to help me out. Rita at Rocklan returned my call promptly. She spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me helping me unplug my system. She was super knowledgeable and helpful! I learned so much about my septic tank! When my toilets wouldn't drain properly and I couldn't plunge them free I removed the three lids from my septic tank to find first two were full to the top. I called Rocklan and over the phone they walked me thru the problem, a clogged filter in the center tank. After letting the water level in the tank drop enough to see the filter handle, I pulled it out and that immediately fixed the issue. Cleaned it with a hose and replaced. The tenants in our rental complained the lower floor toilet wasn't flushing. We had a plumber come out but was informed that snaking the pipe did not show a blockage in the pipe and that it might be due to a problem with the septic system. I left a msg with Rocklan. Rita called back the next morning. She was able to pull up diagrams of our septic system. give me an estimate of cost for pumping, and scheduled the pumping for later that week when I could be available. Indeed, the inlet baffle was blocked by scum and the outlet baffle filter needed cleaning. Pat took care of both. He took the time to explain how the septic system worked to me as he fixed the problem. He also explained how to keep the filter clean and to unblock the baffle when the tank didn't need pumping. He pumped the tank and inspected the system (was due inspection in 6 months so nice to get that done). Pat arrived promptly, took care of the problem areas, pumped the tank and inspected it all within a short block of time. The charge with tax was $425. I paid way over that 3 years ago just to have it pumped. We are extremely well satisfied with Rocklan and will be using them for all our septic needs at our home and our rental. WORST SERVICE EVEEEER. no joke. ive used them before and it took forever for them to call me back or actually talk to me! the only reason i used them was because my neighbor really liked them. i tried using them again and ive called 6 times left 6 messages and still no call back. sometimes no one even answered the phone. clearly they do not want the buisness... I have used Rocklan's services for our last two homes. Every time we have used them it has been virtually a painless experience. I say virtually because the last time they came out they pointed out that our septic "pump" was not working properly and the charges were more than they would have been otherwise. But without them pumping, and inspecting our system it could have cost us significantly more...perhaps even a new septic system that would have set us back upwards of $10,000. They couldn't pump my septic tank because the road to our house was too small, but she spent an hour on the phone helping me to get my system working again, even faxing a diagram of our sytem to me and directing me what to do. She didn't even charge me for the help. The suggestions worked great and we had use of our septic again. I would highly recommend them. read more
