We've used Sound Septic not only to pump our system but recently to install a new septic pump and repair minor erosion within the pump tank. Sound Septic is the only company I call when I need septic service. Gene is fair, honest and a nice guy to boot. A different septic company was trying to make me pay for a $4000+ repair that I had doubts about. I just wanted to stop by and post a review about Sound Septic. The septic system was causing a pool of water in our back yard. I called Sound Septic and even though I am only a renter in our home Carrie was very polite and helpful. They came out to our home and got right to work. They found the issue and were able to contact our land lord quickly. They returned the next day and had to wait around forever in the pouring rain and wind for the home owner to give the go ahead to compete the work. If not, here's my opinion: Gene Bond is not only fair and ethical - he's a great guy. He coaches his son's baseball team and is active in our community. This is the kind of company I want to support. I was totally pleased and impressed by the young professional, Mr. Gene Bond, who came to our house to fix our septic tank. We thought it only needed to be pumped empty, but he diagnosed the problem as a faulty pump and indicated we didn't need to have the tank pumped clean yet. He made two separate trips to track down not only a good replacement pump, but one that was also economically priced. He explained everything, was professional and honest. This is now my go to septic company! Due to a backup in the house I had used another company in town as I was not sure if it was a plumbing or septic problem. It became clear I could not trust the other company and did not want to hire them to pump my septic so ...after research I found Sound Septic. Gene within minutes located a tank I did not know existed! It became clear immediately the last company had helped me out temporarily but did not have the knowledge Gene has. He pumped the tank, kindly answered all my septic questions as I am a nerd and like to know how things work, and he came back to put in a riser for the new found tank. I'm a little reluctant to dispense 5 stars and say "as good as it gets" in the septic pumping industry, as I frankly don't want to know or experience it; but Gene and Carrie get "A" for flexibility in changing around the schedule to accommodate us; an "A" for price - limited, fair, optional upcharges my upto 1000-1200 gal. plus some overage was only $350 AFTER tax. No $110/hole (not per tank) charges for digglng dirt like the Gouge-hawks; and an "A+" for being nice honest people small business people you can trust. Bearing in mind he rearranged his day for me and is a smaller operation, he earned a "B" on timeliness. read more

When I called I stated my sewer was coming into my bathtub & I needed it pumped, they sent out someone (Gene),to look at my septic tank, I will say this, gene came out and was a really nice guy! I had to wait another day that get my septic pumped! When I did it cost $500.00 also my pump was not working. Here's where it gets bad. I was quoted at $1,200.00 for a pump and $1,240.00 to 3 risers! For Christ sake I'm pushing water up 2 feet! on what planet do you need a $1,200.00 pump to do that! I swear the neighborhood you live in sets their price! My first experience with our septic system turned out to be a good one. We lived in our house (new) for 3 years and were getting nervous about our septic system. Called and made an appointment and within a week it was done. Gene explained everything and told me that I probably had another year before I needed to pump. His price is competitive, pretty much what everybody charges. He said that our .... doesn't stink which alone was worth it. He explained that if we cut down on the amount of toilet paper we use, we could easily go 5 years. We did pump and feel much cleaner. read more

Gene is a great guy to work with. After nursing my system along for a year, it was time to replace the septic, pump tank and drain fields. I was a nervous wreck. Gene and his crew spent a week working in my back yard and finished it off with new topsoil and leveled and raked it smooth so it's ready for seeding. We used this company in May of 2017. Two rip off companies (A+ and Flowhawks ) previously told us our tank was cracked and for $4 to $6K they could fix -replace the tank. Don't walk, RUN from those companies as far and as fast as you can. They WILL rip you off. Gene came out for free, looked at it and said they were both lying , the tank is fine. Another Septic company looked at the tank as well and said it is fine. Sound Septic gets a 5 for being honest about the tank. Fast forward to Sept 2018. Gene recommended we pump the tank once a year as we have a large family. We call Sound Septic, Gene comes out, and drives away. Being puzzled, I call the office. I'm told we have baby wipes in the tank, he can't pump it, find someone else. Being now in a bind, I call numerous companies, staying away from the companies I know are crooks. Another guy comes out, looks at it, pumps it no problem and said we have ZERO baby wipes in the tank (which we knew already ) And charges us a great rate. I'm disappointed that South Sound did not want to pump our tank, but ultimately believe I now have found a company I can work with. The company we currently will be using also said the tank did not yet need pumping. read more

Wow! Just finished an experience with Sound Septic that not only made my day, it restored my faith in humanity. I was honest in the fact that our septic had not been pumped in way beyond an acceptable time frame. We all know how many companies out there will use this as a feeding frenzy for "needed repairs". Not only were these guys honest and assured me my system was fine; they were fast, friendly, informative and beyond fairly priced.
