And then, they advised us to replace the pump and also said that the pump was not able to push the water into the drain field fast enough so our field is probably failing. Later (after a week of my bugging them) they sent me an estimate for a new pump and a drain field investigation. Total Cost: $4880. Forgetaboutit, I thought. I called another company who sent someone out who gave me some good advice... for free. I then did my own testing and found that the pump was successfully pumping 50 gallons per minute into my "failing" drain field. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my system. We first worked with Bayshore Construction nearly 15 years ago when Brandon installed the septic system at our home on Lake St. Clair. From the very beginning, he was professional, knowledgeable, and worked seamlessly with the engineer designing the system. Over the years, our septic system has functioned beautifully, and we have often reflected on how much we appreciated Brandon's expertise and kindness during the construction process--he truly stood out as one of the best people we worked with. Fast forward to last year, when we had an unexpected issue with our septic system. We knew exactly who to call. Brandon with Bayshore connected us with Ethan from RJ Trends, he responded immediately, made our home a priority, and provided the same level of professionalism and care that we experienced years ago. It's clear that both Bayshore Construction and RJ Trends operate with a commitment to quality work, customer service, and integrity. It's rare to find companies that not only do outstanding work but also genuinely care about their customers. Brandon, Ethan, and their teams exemplify what it means to take care of their community, and we are beyond grateful. If you need septic work--whether it's installation, repairs, or maintenance--Bayshore Construction and RJ Trends are the best in the business. Thank you, Brandon, Ethan, and the whole team, for everything!

Mike came out and quickly determined that the problem was with the plastic zip ties securing our septic floats. He replaced the plastic ties with metal ones so we shouldn't have the same problem again. What impressed me most was how Mike handled the entire situation. He has over 20 years of experience, was extremely knowledgeable, professional and straightforward, and took the time to explain what was happening rather than trying to turn a relatively simple problem into an expensive service call. And then came the biggest surprise: Economy Septic charged us nothing for the visit or the repair. That kind of service is increasingly difficult to find. They could easily have charged us a service-call fee, and we would have expected to pay it. Instead, Mike simply identified the problem, fixed it properly and took care of us. Economy Septic is a family-run business, and our experience reflected exactly what you hope to get from a local company--knowledge, experience, professionalism, fairness and integrity. After this experience, Economy Septic will be the company we call for our septic needs going forward. I would highly recommend Mike and Economy Septic to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and trustworthy septic company.

Initially, Sterling told me that there would be no one available until Monday morning, but offered me info on another company if I wanted to check with them instead. But then, within the hour, they figured out a way to get the last of their guys who was still out in the field over to my place for a diagnosis. Guy was here in under an hour. What's more, to make sure everything was well and truly addressed, the boss himself stopped by on his way to a birthday party to offer a little oversight, hands-on assistance, and some on-the-job staff training. Sterling ended up pumping my tanks, which was fine, but there was no charge for the extra service call, which was even better, and everything was resolved by 6:00 PM. These folks could have easily said, sorry, can't do anything until Monday, and I would have understood. Instead, they went the extra mile for a good customer - and now they've ensured that they'll keep that customer for many years to come. That's the way to do business and I thought you Yelpers would want to know.
