I was in a bind....I was quoted a price from flow hawks that literally had me in tears after just purchasing our home less than three months prior. I'm a customer and I strongly recommend Economy Septic Service. I was in a bad situation. My house was under contract and I initially hired another septic company to perform an inspection and submit an RSS. My house was unoccupied and we were not on the premise when the work was performed. Surprisingly many deficiencies were found and the estimate to repair the deficiencies was $5,000 in addition to the $1200 that I paid for an inspection and RSS report. I sought a second opinion and fortunately I found Economy Septic Service on a Sunday night. I spoke with Angie on Monday and by Wednesday Mike had resolved my problem by Wednesday and filed the required documents so the sale of my home would not fall through. They completed the entire job for $3400 compared to the other company's estimate of $5000 for repairs plus $1200 paid for the inspection (total $6200). I am a homeowner with a septic system (on drain field). Got a little worried about one of the toilets clogging up yesterday. On a hunch, i decided to get it pumped. He told me I probably have 1 more year to go, but I decided to do it anyway. Took less than half an hour and he told me I don't have to put the dirt back on the cover. My plumbing started backing up yesterday. After a little research online, I went with Economy Septic. I was told they would be out next day between 11 & 1 pm. Next day they showed up at noon. They drained the tank but the plumbing was still backed up. They could have told me to call a rooter but instead inspected the pipes and flushed them out. Honest people! I called because my septic alarm was going off and I thought I needed to drain my tank. I opened the lid to look at all my poop in there and it looked full of crap to me. When they came out my wife met them and they opened the tank and said it did not need to be pumped. They explained why the alarm went off and even cleaned a filter FOR FREE!! Very Bad & Unresponsive - took the advance payment in full and not picking up the phone any more. Now here are the details if it is useful for anyone ... I had hired them to remove 2 septic tanks from A vacant parcel.. Removal involves - pumping out the tank, crushing the tank and filling in with pit and gravel and filing paperwork. They filed part paperwork and said all the work was done ... Since rest of the work "seemed" to go very smooth as per the owner Nann I took up the paperwork and completed by going to Tacoma Health Department and completed by paying above what I paid the company already. I asked Nann for returning the money charged for paperwork, she promised but yet not returned.. but "this" I found was the minor hiccup .. dealing with the company When my site developer started clearing the land they found one of the tank was never crushed leave alone filling with pit and gravel. When I got back to Economy Septic that we found an open tank on the property .. the owner said ... she had "texted" me which I never got ....that my property has third tank on my site and she would have to charge me extra for that ... I agreed but I tried to verify ... with the county office.. but on digging it was the same tank.. and without surprise we soon found it was not 1 but both the tank were lying on my property without crushing and filling in with pit and gravel ... But were hid by putting bushes around .. and which I discovered only after clearing... I am not sure if Tacoma Health department should let them decommission the septics going forward... read more

If you need anything done with your septic tank, main line or drain field... CALL THIS COMPANY !!! Here's our story: We were at a total loss, not knowing what to do, after calling Southwest Plumbing (our regular home plumbers - who have always done a GREAT job for us and did our bathroom remodel - so we have a lot of good history with them) to find out what was going on outside of our house at our main line last December. They told us the main line collapsed and needed repair immediately. The downside was - We had to pay That Day IN FULL before they would even start. They told us if it was 5 feet of pipe replaced, it would cost $5,000 and if it was the 10 feet all the way to our septic tank, it would be $10,000...our hands were tied because what were we going to do with abacked up line ?? (we felt fortunate at the time that it turned out to be only the 5 feet !). Of course, we had to pay to have our tank pumped on top of that fee through FlowHawks - who were recommended and sent out by SouthWest (nearly $600) even though we had just had our routine maintenance pumping a couple of weeks before. FlowHawks' 'septic guy' said if the main line repair didn't work, we would most likely need our whole drain field replaced. I asked how much and he wouldn't even give me a ballpark figure... when I told him I had heard it could be well over $20,000 he just 'pointed up', shook his head and said he 'wouldn't ruin my holidays telling me how much it would be' and I would just have to have them out again after Christmas (for a fee).... Fast forward to one month later.... Line backs up again... I have NO intention on calling FlowHawks after how rude their person was... so I spent 2 full days on the internet trying to find out something about septic systems. Frankly, there are not a lot of reviews or prices out there - so I just started plowing through every septic service website I could find. Economy Septic's simple, direct, clean website was great - I liked that I could 'see' different residential drain field layouts. It looked like they were realistic people who had a good history doing this. When I called I got Mike - who was SO great ! He said it would not cost to have him come out to see what was going on and showed up right away. He brought Zack (sp?) with him and the two of them probed around and discovered that the distribution box was most likely also collapsed and we would need our drain field flushed out to get rid of debris that had clogged it up (dirt, rocks, etc). and might need some pipe repairs if they discovered something. I'm not going to lie... I was NERVOUS about how much this would be.... When he said the worst case scenario would be $3,200 for EVERYTHING (much less if we didn't need that d-box replaced)- well, I could hardly believe it ! When I told them what we had to pay SouthWest for 5 feet of pipe, THEY couldn't believe that!! The 5 feet of pipe was MORE costly than doing ALL the work that needed to be done to actually fix it !.....Oh, and on top of that.... Economy Septic take payments !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were thankfully able to put part down and pay the rest a month later... unbelievable ! I think they are the only company to have some compassion for home owners' emergency situations ! Mike nicely sent someone out that same day to pump our tank to give us some relief since he couldn't start the job until a few days later, then when he and his crew showed up that next week - the job was done the same day !!! They were hard-working, in great moods (I think they were happy that they missed the 'big freeze' week the week before and it was actually sunny that day ), knowledgeable and efficient. My husband had to work from home that day and was thoroughly impressed with their level of confidence in the job ahead and how great they tackled it. When the job was wrapping up, I went out to check it all out...they mentioned to me that I needed to get some root killer to put down the line and when I asked if they would put it in if I ran out to get it, they said 'absolutely' and took care of that for me when I returned from the hardware store... Mike also showed me how to clear the line if it ever backed up and assured us that our drain field is in great shape, our tank looks good and we are back in business ! I absolutely believe him because they really went at it, had everything they were addressing dug up, and left the yard looking good when they left with new caps on top of each opening for easy future access. I know it is probably unprofessional to want to hug your septic crew, but I sure felt like it !
