Russell not only pumped my tank, I mentioned I had root issues- he said I got you. He educated me, showed me how to do a drain field test myself and answered a bunch of pending questions that I've always had. Russell is professional, kind, fast, transparent and so easy to work with. I truly feel like Sterling should be every septic owners go to. They haven't failed me once and I am a picky customer. If I'm paying, I do expect good service but Sterlings service is STELLAR! 5 stars all day long.

Fortunately, we got two other septic companies to look at the project. We have learned that the main line they scoped is NOT even part of the septic system and did not need to be scoped. So they charged us for unnecessary work. The company we hired to do some recommended work helped us navigate the county offices and saved us several thousand dollars. The cost of having other companies review our project was costly, but there was no destroying our side yard and the final project was much less expensive. I would be wary of hiring them.

So he came out and did it. Took a little time to schedule this time because he had "patched" the problem the first visit and then when he can back he fixed it proper. I'm just thankful it wasn't the middle of winter as I'm sure he was also seeing he had to dig the electrical line. Price was decent, again I don't know cause I don't use anyone else and NEVER will. It was so refreshing to have someone willing to just tell me at least a general cost so I could prepare. There was a slight delay in getting them out to us because of a truck of thiers that had some mechanical issues, but we rescheduled and once Jeff arrived he was able to get the job done in a very reasonable amount of time and the cost was spot on what we were quoted. I was so impressed that their quote was something they stood by. It was pouring rain and I felt absolutely awful for the poor guy but he got the job done and he did it well. I've left messages and gotten called back 8 hours later. - They also don't do any kind of expecation setting. I sat around all morning waiting to hear when they'd show up because I was told yesterday that I'd be first thing in the morning. At 10:30 they called to say they didn't know when the guy would be there as he was on another job. At 10:33, literally three minutes later the same girl called back to say he was on his way. - The people on the phone clearly know nothing about the industry they work in, which is problematic when they have to figure out the right person to send to a job. My septic backed up Friday, guy came out to pump it, explicitly told me he couldn't fix the cause and that I needed one of their technicians. He put that in his notes and asked for a follow up. I called and explained the same thing to them that we had already been pumped, but needed someone to diagnose the root cause. On Tuesday when they finally got some one out to deal with the root cause they sent the same guy who already said he couldn't do it. I tried multiple times to explain to the office staff the issue and who I needed to show up, and their solution was to put me in as a sales lead for their sales staff... I hate to traffic in tropes, but this really felt like a cliche business where they hire a bunch of ditsy girls to answer the phones who don't know anything about the business and then call in the men to answer any of the technical questions and make sales. I'll never be calling them again.
