Overall great experience. Went here for date night after craving some noodles, and found ourselves trying this place for the first time. Our waitress was good, checked on us a couple times. The inside of the resteraunt is small but has a resemblance of what a ramen place would look like in Japan/Asia. (If you're gluten-free, there is only ONE option - the Rockin Yummen has rice noodles for GF). We ordered a set of chicken egg rolls and a set of pork egg rolls. Each of them came with 3, and a sweet/sour sauce which wasn't too bad. The rolls were very fresh in flavors and the filling, will definitely get those again. We both the Miso Ramen with chicken (made it spicy - have to ask for that one to be specifically made be spicy, its optional), and the Curry Men. This was my first time having ramen, so I went with the Miso and spicy and it was delicious. Although I wasn't a fan of the sesame seeds, the soup had a really good flavor, the spicy was a good back-of-the-throat spice level, and the veggies were good. I wish it came with more veggies as I'd prefer more veggies than protein, it was a good first experience of ramen. He got the Curry Men, and that was absolutely delicious. The broth was so flavorful and tasted just like a very thin layer of curry in a brothy state. We'd both get that one again when we go. Plus they came in the actual ramen bowls, which was pretty cool to try out. Ended up being enough for us to have leftovers for one meal for how big the servings were. read more

I love the cartoon design on the walls and decoration in the store that gives this new modern asian ramen shop. I've ordered the tonkotsu ramen, the curry, and beef dish. I've tried the egg rolls, and the servers are helpful and attentive. read more

I can't believe this place has been here this long without me knowing about it! We stopped in for a late lunch last week and it was a great experience! Service was quick and friendly. We were seated immediately and our waters came promptly. We needed a bit of time to look over the menu and didn't feel rushed at all. We ordered the chicken tan tan dumplings, which came out quickly and were fabulous. I ordered a paitan ramen with pork belly and my husband got the spicy tan tan with a mix of ground beef and pork. I thought the pork belly was hard to eat the way it was served, but I also think it was a standard way to serve it so it was a me problem. The spicy tan tan is ONLY spicy because of the meat and our server said it was probably a 2/5 on spice, but you can spice up the broth more if you want. Overall, great experience. Clean location with lots of parking, good food with a variety on the menu, and great service. We'll be back! read more

Rockin' Ramen - Black garlic paitan with pork - Ramen Near Me - Temple, Texas

This is a great option for ramen without having to drive to Austin. Easy access off West Adams in Temple with a large parking lot. The inside has cute decorations and large booths. There's outdoor seating available but the inside is more inviting. Staff is friendly and helpful. We ordered the Black Garlic Paitan and Dumpling Ramen. 10/10 recommend the Black Garlic Paitan. The broth is flavorful and the pork is delicious. You can add on extra toppings for a small charge. Choice of poached egg or umami egg. The Dumpling ramen is a good choice if you want a lighter broth. The Crispy Tofu was a perfect appetizer that comes with a sweet soy based sauce. Not sure if the noodles are made in house or if the broth is simmered for a long time in house but still yummy and hit the spot. They also serve poke but I haven't tried it yet. Would like to see their drink menu expanded with more Japanese drinks. Alcohol is not served here. read more

I came in during the central Texas winter storm! I'm glad they were open because this ramen absolutely hit the spot during this winter storm! I asked waitress for recommendations and she sold me on the specialty ramen. The pork was so good and tender! The broth was so rich and thick. Inside is clean with ample seating. Definitely one of the best ramen places in temple. Will be coming back for sure! read more

Tucked away in a quiet plaza sitting by small shops in a growing community, we found this place to be an amazing ramen shop. Busy but quiet, the staff was very friendly and helpful, guiding us through their menu. We settled on the poke your way, drunken ramen and the paitan black garlic ramen. All three were amazing!! Ramen soup used to be six for a dollar staple of college students and bachelors, now they seem to add a little bit of ingredients and think that it is ultrachic. Nothing amazing about this place, overpriced food that they seem to gush over, telling you that you're having a good time. read more

Love their food and people there are great but it is marred by the bad attitude of the owners. We eat there a few times a month but after being cussed out by management of their sister restaurant, Narunya's, we will never eat there again. read more

I tousle my noodles! Think what you may of that, but it's their paitan black garlic ramen soup I'm forked up about! I love to add an umami egg. There's something comforting about hot soup; and I'm one to have it even if it's hot outside. Call me humid... it's never been done before. We were excited that they opened up in our tiny town. Since then, we always hit up this spot for ramen. Their broth has us addicted to slurping for leisure. After trying other kinds though, their paitan black garlic is a no-brainer order on automatic mode. We can't get enough of that Thai matcha green tea. There's usually round two! That goes for takoyaki balls, as well. Recently they've added BYO poke fish bowls. The options for ingredients may be a little limited, but you can build a decent bowl. If this place has been on your list, the season is right to finally cross that off. On your mark, get set, GO! read more

This ramen was truly rockin'! I think this is the best ramen I've had this year, and it's almost the end of the year. We got the squid game (amazing name!) appetizer to share, and it was tasty. I had the paitan ramen with pork. It was so extremely rockin'. Everything in it was delicious. The price is very good for the amount of food. Usually I comment on how ramen restaurants are skimpy on the noodles, but they are generous here. An egg is included in the ramen instead of as an extra charge! The pork was so tender. I got a little spiciness, and it was so good. The only downside was the service was pretty slow. We were a big group, but it took soooo long for someone to bring us menus. Then to bring us drinks. Then to take our orders. It felt like we were living at 0.75x speed. Very friendly staff though. read more

This one is the one in Killeen. I just ordered it tonight and ever since the first time, I have been going back. Well, if you order online it said, by one particular item, get one free, their choice, which was a drink and that's cool. Well, I didn't get my drink, because I was told Uber had to add it, strange, but ok. Now, I get the Meso ramen, the best and very delicious, but it was so salty. I don't know who cooked it around 6 or 6:30 tonite, (2/12/26), but it was salty. The person who I talked to tonite, was just like, "ok, I'm sorry, no drink or even a replacement. I will still come to this place, because it is so good, but she could have been more caring and understanding. Next time, I hope it's better. read more

Rockin Ramen Tonight was our first time eating at Rockin Ramen with a friend. We had a reservation, so we were seated quickly, but it took an unusual amount of time before our drink order was taken. We had enough time to decide on everything we wanted fully, so we ordered in one fell swoop. My husband and I got the TanTan Dumplings (pork) and Squid Game starters. For dinner, we picked their Shoyu Ramen (spicy) and Paitan Black Garlic Ramen. While we waited for our food, I soaked in the fun atmosphere surrounding us. The walls were a happy, bright blue, and there was a large pop art mural on the right wall. I liked the lighting fixtures and all the happy, lucky cat figures at the front counter. Now, I'm torn between a solid 3-star or a generous 4-star, and here's why: The food was palatable. It was not the best ramen we've ever had, but it was tasty. Service seemed to struggle to keep up; perhaps they were short-handed, I'm not sure. The food was affordable, but it did bother me that I had to chase away 2 sugar ants from our table. I decided to be generous and give the 4-star rating because I would be willing to go back, but I do hope next time will be that much improved. read more

A friend of mine and I went here today for lunch and it was an absolutely delectable experience. There was a very short wait time and we were seated very quickly. We ordered the chicken dumplings, drunken Ramen, and some garlic Ramen (I can't recall the exact name of what my friend ate but she said it was tasty.) The food came out very quickly and it was positively delicious! The only reason I'm giving it four out of five stars is because it took the servers a little bit to get us water refills (with some deliciously spicy food; we had to ask twice) and then to get us our bill. Also, as an ICU nurse who doesn't get out much due to the pandemic - I was uncomfortable with the lack of masks worn by the staff and the close quarters of the restaurant. They do have outdoor seating but it was too chilly to eat outside today. Definitely try this place for Ramen! read more

Absolutely delicious and absolutely needed and welcomed here in Temple! We ordered pickup and the customer service was wonderful. My husband had Spicy Tan Tan and he is pleased with the medium punch of heat, it pairs well with broth. I had Paitan Ramen and the creamy broth is what dreams are made of. I love ramen and it is nice to finally have a proper ramen restaurant in the town I live in. read more

Excellent service; nothing fancy inside. Not a fan of the rap music playing tho. Had some ramen (Poke is the other option). It was good; not amazing - just good. Enjoyed the eggrolls as starters (even though they came out with our meals and not as a typical app before the meal). Regardless, will go back and try the Poke. read more

Just wow. I have been here twice and it was fantastic both times. Ordered the Paitan black garlic Ramen with pork chashu. I always take leftovers because I can't ever finish the bowl. It's even better the next day. I added scallions the first time and had the Umami egg with the bowl. Loved the scallion addition but disliked the egg. I just didn't like the flavor. The second time I forgot the scallions so I was sad about that but I got the poached egg instead and it was a bomb addition!! Loved the yolk running over the pork. Also both times I added a generous amount of hot oil. Spicy is just better. The Thai tea had a great flavor. The squid is flavored nicely but I have to admit it was too chewy. The sauce is good. Overall the ramen is just so good we'll be back again for sure. It is a bit pricey though. So can't do it too often. read more
