Heidi is an amazing person besides being very knowledgeable with years of experience as an outfitter. She truly cares about the horses and has spent tons of time in Yellowstone. If you visit Chico and take a ride, listen and learn. Ask for Heidi for a true western experience.

We went on a great 1hr horseback ride! Everyone in our family loved it and we had the best guide. Highly recommend!

We booked the Yellowstone Lower Loop tour, and it was the perfect way to experience the park together. Our guide, Ben, was absolutely amazing! He arrived right on time at 7am with a spacious, super comfortable van fully stocked with everything we could possibly need for a great tour; including binoculars, drinks, and snacks. Ben was friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. He kept the kids interested and made sure the entire group was enjoying themselves throughout the day. He was very accommodating to our interests, always asking if we wanted to stop when wildlife was spotted or if we wanted to take more time at certain locations. His flexibility made the whole day feel relaxed and tailored to us. Lunch was at Old Faithful, and it was a delicious treat; sandwiches, chips, fruit, and the best homemade chocolate chip cookie. Everything was provided and thoughtfully prepared. This was such a memorable and well-organized experience. I will absolutely be booking with Yellowstone Excursions again, whether it's to explore another area or when more friends and family come to visit us in Bozeman.

When you book (and you absolutely must), ask for Elena. She was not only an absolute joy to be around, but she is incredibly knowledgeable. She knew exactly where to go and when based on the weather, and she is a true expert in all things Yellowstone: the wildlife, the thermal features, the geology, the history. I could go on and on. My husband and I were celebrating my 50th birthday the day of our tour, and I could not have asked for a more magical day. We were a little nervous since it was shoulder season, but those worries disappeared the moment we got started. From the first stop to the last, it was nothing short of spectacular. We were fortunate to see an incredible amount of wildlife throughout the day, but two moments stood out above the rest. First, watching a herd of bison, including a precious newborn calf, was breathtaking. Then came the showstopper: a bear emerging from hibernation. Elena spotted what looked like a tiny dot on a distant cliffside, sprinted to her vehicle to grab a telescope, and within minutes we were watching that bear in real time. It was one of those moments you genuinely cannot believe you are witnessing. That brings me to another wonderful perk of this tour. In addition to the binoculars provided to each guest, the guides carry high-powered telescopes they set up quickly and effortlessly, so you can truly see the wildlife up close. It makes a world of difference. This is a tour we will never forget, and we are already planning to come back in the summer with our daughter. You better believe we will be requesting Elena. You can tell she loves every single thing about what she does, and she is all heart. Five stars is not enough. One million stars, minimum.

While en route, the driver rear-ended a fully stopped vehicle at highway speed. The impact was significant and airbags deployed. My wife and two children (both under 10) were in the vehicle. EMTs evaluated us on scene and, thankfully, everyone ultimately recovered, though there was bruising and soreness following the collision. What was most disappointing was the lack of follow-up or care from the company. We had to initiate contact ourselves days later and never received any meaningful outreach, apology, or effort to ensure our family was okay or to take ownership of the situation. Accidents can happen, but how a company responds matters. I waited several weeks to post this to give them time to do the right thing.

His experience and knowledge of the trails, flora and fauna was reassuring and enhancing. Whilst we felt relatively fit 59 year olds, we were a little apprehensive over the challenges of hiking, free camping and staying safe. Frank planned the route perfectly and made sure that we did not "over do it" on any given day whilst posing a suitably satisfying challenge for us to ultimately celebrate and enjoy when in camp at sunset. The campsites were prebooked, private and located in the most perfect riverside settings. The balance of fabulous hand made (by Frank) dehydrated meals, freshly cut vegetables, snacks and perfect hot coffee ensured that we were well satiated. The day one wraps were inspired. The scenery throughout was awesome. Hellroaring and Yellowstone rivers thundered by the trail as we hiked. Spectacular and vast 360 degree views provide lasting memories whilst Frank's "stolen" photos and videos created a permanent memory of our days and as well as a terrific record of a very special and wonderful time. Absolutely we would hike again and if possible, with Frank. Thank you Andrew & Kate (Singapore / UK)

My wife and I just returned from the 5-day Winter Wolf Watch tour and are confident that…read moreYellowstone Wolf Tracker is your best bet for spotting wolves and other wild life in Yellowstone. They may not be the cheapest tour, but they're the best. To start with, the company is owned and operated by Nathan Varley (Ph.D), who participated in the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone in 1995. Our guides, Michelle and Jamie, were extremely knowledgeable about the park and its wildlife and plants/trees. The tour has close connections to the most accomplished biologists studying the Yellowstone Wolves, so they have access to the latest information on the location and activity of the wolf packs. Nature being nature, you can't expect guarantees that you'll see wolves, but we saw 10 wolves from the Eight Mile pack and several from the Junction Butte pack on our first day. We also saw a black bear sow and her two cubs emerge from their den, as well as a fox, mountain goats, big horn sheep, elk, and buffalo. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the evening programs and the evening meal. Chef Zac prepared possibly the best meals we have ever had, anywhere. He really is incredible. Dr. James Halfpenny's presentation on Track Scene Investigation (TSI) was not only educational but fascinating as well. Bob Landis, who won an Emmy Award for his documentary "Wolf Pack" previewed his latest documentary project on the birds of Yellowstone, with his usual outstanding nature photography. The tour provides high quality spotting scopes (Swaroski and Nikon), so there's no need to bring your own, but you'll probably want to bring a decent pair of binoculars. We were very happy with our tour, and recommend them highly.

When a public visitor asked him what he was looking at, he made several rude remarks and refused to show others. I talked to some other guides and they were very kind, but Jamie needs to recognize that Yellowstone is a public park and he doesn't own any of the viewing spots. I would never support a company with employees as rude as Jamie. Also, this company doesn't actually "track" wolves. They drive to parking spots and set up spotting scopes to view them from very far away. You can easily do the same thing on your own; just bring/rent binoculars and stop wherever you see groups of other people looking. Here are some pictures I took on my own without the guides. Just get to Lamar Valley at sunrise and wildlife is everywhere! It's honestly more fun to talk to other guests and spot animals together instead of paying for a rude guide to show you and hide it from others.
