We spotted few antelopes, 2 bold eagles several Canadian geese, and of course the beautiful view. Special shout out to our guide Austin. He made the tour even more fun and interesting. He is very informative and made his explanation so understandable for my 5 yr-old. On top of that he was answering 1000 questions from my son, and super patient with the kids. On our way back, we got Nisha as our driver. She was fun and very playful with the kids. Brandon was a newer guide to the crew and he kicked butt and made us all feel safe while still having a blast !!!! Cracking jokes, telling us facts and stories about the area and river, how certain areas claimed their names .....as we cruised down the river about 5-6 people shouted out his name as they were fishing or camping that were his buddies....to me that just showed what a good dude he is and makes a lasting impression. This place is a well oiled machine. You have groups and groups and groups of people and screaming kids that have to go through a few steps to get set up...each staff member at each station gave you a warm smile and were excited for you to be at their station . (I'm from CA, it's usually a lot of hostility and yelling) from the kind young woman at the register guiding people to waivers, to the wetsuits, to the booties, to the helmets EVERY SINGLE PERSON WAS KIND, WELCOMING AND EXCITED FOR US TO DO THIS. When we got back on the bus to leave, all of the guides seemed to have such a great Comradery with each other, pumping one another up on how they did on their trips. It was cool to see. Another honorable mention is guide Tony, he was the guide on boat in front of us, that boat looked like they were having the time of their lives cheering and high fiving with their paddles Bus driver kicked ass busting that U turn too ! The primary camp is in a designated Wilderness Area: Picture Yellowstone without the roads, trail markers, rangers, vehicles, power lines, crowds. Our team was completely prepared to get us into and out of the woods safely on horseback, and to help us enjoy the backcountry. The scenery was unmatched and the fishing was fantastic. Hellroaring Creek is crowded with Yellowstone cutthroat that get very little pressure and are a blast to fish on dry flies. The growing season is brief at that elevation, so those fish want to eat. The stream is adjacent to camp, so there is no traveling or waiting on fishing days, except for waiting for the mornings to warm up. The water is varied enough to keep anyone entertained, and the fish stay busy. We were very impressed by the comfort and organization in the camps, the beautiful setting, the help on travel days, and the excellent food. We would be excited to travel with Cameron and the crew from ABO again.
