He explained everything in detail and let us know what to expect. I know I was super nervous and Matt surely calmed my nerves. He made the 8 mile ride feel like 2 miles. I also booked our horseback riding with them and they were definitely accommodating. We were a party of eleven and they made sure we were made to feel "part of their family ". If you want to make lasting memories and make your trip memorable, your money here is well spent. I don't regret paying one cent for the memorable and lasting adventures we experienced. When my friends and I arrived at Yellowstone National Park, we wanted to experience everything the park had to offer. While this is experience is not inside the park, it is worth every penny. As we were waiting for the remaining guests who had signed up, we had the opportunity to get to know a few of the guides. Evan, Trent, Jada, and Cheyara ( I probably mispelled) were the guides for our group and all are great! The guides were very good at orienting us on safety protocols along with their great sense of humor. Our bachelorette crew of eight women showed up ready to float -- Spencer, our fearless captain, quickly informed us this was more "adventure" than "lazy river." Not only did Spencer make sure we paddled for our lives, he also had us carrying rafts up and down hills like we were training for the Raft Olympics. And when we weren't paddling or hauling, he was pulling double duty as a certified (in our minds) bird-watcher -- confidently identifying every feathered creature we saw, real or imagined. The views were gorgeous, the water was refreshing (read: freezing), and Spencer's calm, steady presence (even with eight women in one raft) made the trip unforgettable. We're pretty sure he secretly loved our vibes and the top-tier entertainment we provided along the way. 10/10 would raft again... after leg day, arm day, and maybe some cardio. What an amazing experience!! We had a group of twelve people and every one of us had the time of our lives! We ranged in age from 50's down to 6 years old, and everyone loved every minute. Our tour guide was so fun and informative, and we came away with a lot of interesting knowledge about the area. I was worried it would be scary, especially after I was handed an oar, but it was so fun and easy to follow instructions. No one fell out! Haha! The entire experience was streamlined and well organized. We even got to take a dip in the Yellowstone river, which was amazing. Our family of four had a great time on the river. We did the two hour tour and Becca was our guide. She was so nice and very informative. I was a little nervous and she put me right at ease. The last time I had been was rafting was when I was 16. It was just as fun as I remembered. Our ages: 50, 49, 23 and 20. It was the perfect level of rapids for both us and our adult kids. Had a good time. The start of the ride for the 1/2 day ride was in the most extreme rapids and was a bit too intense for my liking. Would've been better to hit those rapids after we had become used to the boat and ease into a bit. Was nowhere near that wild for the last hour of the ride. I went with my husband and our 2 kids, 7 and 12. Morgan was our guide and she was fantastic. My daughter (7) was pretty nervous and she did a great job of making her feel safe and encouraging her to try something new. My son had a blast and, after a week long road trip, I know this will be the thing he takes away as his favorite thing from the trip. The guides were knowledgeable and efficient. They used my daughter as the safety example, again making her feel more comfortable. The waves were pretty mild that day but Morgan did a great job of moving us into the best ones so we could get some great bumps and jumps, The photographer got some great shots of us and in every one my son is smiling ear to ear. This is good for families with kids or someone who is going out for the first time. We had a great time. Our guide was super chill. They provided us with all the gear we needed. I had a blast, it was really fun. When I was standing around good off before we started out I did not hear the whole explanation of what I Volunteered for. I took my place in front of the raft and my g-friend Thought I would give her a hard time took the seat across from me. There were other younger guy in our group that didn't want to get in the front. So off we started once the rest of the group and guide got in. As we hit the first set of rapids I got completely soaked. The rest of the ride was fun too. The place was clean in the lobby and the staff at the desk where helpful. They did seem a bit over booked but that could be because everyone showed up at the same time. Booked an overnight rafting trip with my Wife and 4 kids (11-17). Jake drew the short straw and was our guide, he was awesome. Rafting was fun, it was interesting to see some of the damage from the recent flooding, and Jake did a good job giving us a little history of the area as we made our way down the river. When we got to camp for the night he worked hard to make sure everything was taken care of, cooked cleaned, all we had to do was relax. I use a CPAP at night, and while there was no power, they brought a generator out to accommodate. If you're looking for an outfitter to take you and your family down the Yellowstone I highly recommend Wild West Rafting. read more

We loved every second of this trail ride! The guides were great, the horses were cute, and the views will blow your mind. You get to experience Yellowstone how it was meant to be experienced! We had an amazing experience with this company . My husband and I booked a last minute overnight white water rafting trip and it was the best way to end our vacation. Since we came late in the season (august), the waters were not the thrill we were seeking. It was more of a leisurely float down the river with a few rapids along the way. If you're a thrill seeker, go in May! Our guide, Patrick was an excellent host. He made sure our campsite was secure, cooked us a ribeye dinner with asparagus and potatoes, took us on a bear hunt, and joined us for a little bit fireside as we discussed the different constellations blanketing the sky in a stunning 180 degrees. The following morning we were greeted with coffee, pancakes and bacon before heading back to the store front. Would highly recommend this company and enjoy the overnight option! read more

To start off with, we tried to make this booking online, but do to my poor wifi connection I was forced to call the company. My telephone conversation with the rep was very upbeat and informative. He efficiently took my info and scheduled us for the trip. When we got there for the float, we were greeted happily and were made very comfortable while waiting for the trip to start. On the trip, Emily was our guide. She was knowledgeable and very good at guiding down the River. My wife and I really enjoyed the view of the landscapes and the wildlife. Second time using Wild West Rafting and I will definitely be back for a third. We had Dylan and Jack (Jake?) as our guides this time and they were great - put newbies at ease with their sense of humor, but take their charge seriously at the same time. I had my 6yo with me, who was 2 the last time we went (scenic float that time - 2 hour white water this time) and they are consistently great with kids! If you're hesitant to bring your kids because you worry this is dangerous, don't be! Both times, he sat at the very front of the boat and was totally fine. The walls of the boat are plenty high and as long as they can pay attention and stay holding onto the rope, even when a wall of water crashes over them, they'll be fine. The only think that makes me have a twinge of regret is the price of the photo package. Of course, I bought the photos, but $50 is steep for 20 photos, some of which you can't see the people in the boat because the water is covering everyone. $30 feels like a better price point. read more

Pat was our rafting guide for the scenic tour. We had our 9 year old son with us and Pat was great. It ended up being a private tour for the 3 of us and Pat was more than willing to hit a few Rapids for us! The tour takes you the same way as the higher Rapids but Pat guided us to the smoother areas. Beautiful views and we enjoyed his history commentary as we floated. Highly recommend this awesome rafting company. We did get a Groupon for this float but when we arrived, I saw that the price inside was actually cheaper than the Groupon by about $12. My 14-year-old grandson and I saved the best for last, all-day rafting on the Yellowstone. The staff provides wetsuit, river shoes and life jackets. The rafting is easy and fun! We paddled on guides' instructions, only through rapids. We coasted through calm water. Our guide, Hayden, regaled us with an endless supply of "terrible" jokes, adding to the fun journey. An unexpected accident during the lunch break brought this company's strengths into play. I broke my ankle and had to be carried by the guides and fellow paddlers to the raft, then paddled to the next pullout where another staff member (Brooke?) met us with ice bags and bottled water. She helped calm my grandson as we waited for the ambulance. But it didn't end there! Co-owner Thomas drove my car to the distant hospital and delivered us to our hotel, where Cole met him. This was far beyond what one might expect and I can't praise them enough. My experience was most unusual but you should know that you are guaranteed a good experience no matter what happens! read more

My husband and I had a blast. TJ was a great guide: sociable, humorous & knowledgable. They also took care of us as vets, which is always appreciated. However, we really wanted pictures to commemorate the experience, but the girl at the front desk didn't seem too interested in helping us out. She literally just left the store when we told her we'd like some pictures. Wild West Rafting is a great company run by very good people. Our family and our friends had booked a rafting trip for this past week. Unfortunately, some of us woke up sick and tested positive for Covid the morning we were to go on the trip. We were so disappointed as we were really looking forward to it. It would have been the highlight of our trip to the Yellowstone area. We called the company and spoke with Thomas, the owner and explained our predicament. Thomas was amazingly compassionate, understanding, and kind about the whole thing. He worked with us and helped us out as well as anyone could in such a situation and we all truly appreciated it. We can't wait to rebook another trip with Wild West Rafting the next time we venture out to Yellowstone. More businesses should be this reasonable and caring towards their customers.
