Checked out the Lytle bar (named after the family who homesteaded here), the gift shop with great Western wear; my friend got a cool white denim fringed jacket. The grounds are beautiful; walked up to their award winning restaurant , Horn and Cantle, and the very cool Saloon with live music. Decor was classy western. We enjoyed a handcrafted huckleberry cocktail a couple huckleberry lemonade mocktails and glass of wine, a mushroom appetizer, then our friends stayed for dinner. Saw a baby brown bear right outside; thankfully, did not see the mother! Totally recommend a visit here, and would love to stay here sometime!

We got the wet suits and booties which was only like $7/person total. I'd highly recommend getting it. Kept us warm. We did that Level 3-4. My kids are 16 and 19 and loved every bit and want to do it again. I felt like the level 3-4 was doable though we had some close calls. Out of the 6 raft's no one went over. Theses guides are skilled. The time is exhilarating and serene at the same time. You get to to tip your guide after. We also choose to get a digital photo which the photographer does an incredible job capturing our moments. After you get to enjoy some of the best hot chocolates in town or coffee. This establishment is legit. It's a bit pricey after everything is done but so worth the experience with the family!

If you are looking for food fit for a foodie created by Chef Michael and a riding experience lead by Jim and his crew or if you want to just gaze out at the beauty, serenity and natural surroundings, then this is your place. I have been riding a long time and have never experienced such a well run, organized and fulfilling riding program...ever! Elkhorn Ranch has a rich 100 year history -- celebrating this coming year. The original families are still involved. You sit on the porch of your cabin with no cell phone or ipad becuase there is no service. You unhook from the workd --- not an easy task. They provided excellent instruction and took us through varied terrain. Our horses were the best! After riding the open valley we ascended up a creek trail and had a nice lunch up high. A few days later we did a full-day of guided fishing on the Ruby. So glad we did! We learned so much from Isaac and Ben. Landed at least 10 apiece. Massive browns, a few rainbows and whitefish and man did they fight! Lost a few big ones too! These guys were such experts. They were great coaches and fine gentlemen.
