Wow! What a great experience. Phil was so knowledgeable and seemed to know where to find all the best wildlife. We spotted wolves, deer, elk, sheep, mountain goats, pronghorn and so many bison. I will say, although Phil has a long list of great qualities, my favorite moment of the trip was when he step up the scope for us, and then proceeded to pick up litter from the surrounding area. There are lots of guidelines for Yellowstone. We were reminded to stay safe that the hot springs & animals are wild and dangerous and we should be 25 to 100 yards away. We saw the bear spray could be rented for the day as it's expensive and can be returned if it's not used. We were reminded never to feed the animals store food properly, pay attention and be respectful. Hands and feet need to stay out of the water and we should be on boardwalks and designated trails. We were told that there are videos online of Tormons a mixture of tourist that are morons and do stupid things here read more

We had an amazing day in Yellowstone. Elizabeth was so knowledgeable on the park. We choose the tour to focus on seeing animals. Elizabeth had spotting scopes and binos to help us get a closer view and was amazing at spotting them out. It's really hard to pick a favorite moment of the day but one of them was a picnic out overlooking a large bison herd. Yellowstone Guidelines was the BEST. I don't even know where to start. We got picked up early by Phil who took us into NW Yellowstone for wildlife watching and scenic tours. From the minute we stepped in car, Phil was attentive and articulate and had so much cool information to share on what we were seeing. Wildlife tracking can be tricky but Phil was a pro and he actually led us to be the first on the scene for a sighting of wolves ! We were also able to see elk, red foxes, mule deer, bald eagles, big horned sheep, coyotes eating a kill, and bison like right up close to our car! It was amazing. Lunch was provided and it was quite good but the open air picnic may have contributed . We visited all around Yellowstone culminating in visit to Mammoth Hot Springs. Touring with Yellowstone Guidelines was the highlight of our trip. Our guide, Phil, was amazing. He was so kind, knowledgeable and professional.  We all truly enjoyed meeting him and hearing stories about his time in Yellowstone.  We saw some incredible things that would not have been possible on our own and without his knowledge and expertise.  We met up with Phil early and got around in a very comfortable van (we were a group of 5 and fit well). We saw a wolf right when we entered the park! Phil took us to a known wolf den and showed us mama bear and her cubs playing up on a hillside with his scope. Our group of seven backpacked for 5 days at Yellowstone in the Bechler River backcountry. The experience was awesome and allowed us to hike an area that is very remote and beautiful. Our guide, Elizabeth, really made the trip truly wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and experienced in backpacking and she had a good healthy sense of humor. The trip was well provisioned suppling almost everything we needed. In September 2022, we had a terrific time with Yellowstone Guidelines. Bjorn is a knowledgeable, friendly, experienced hiker in Yellowstone. He gave us insights into the park which made the tours even more interesting. In three tours, we were able to see all the highlights. Particularly interesting was Bjorn's explanations of the various geological aspects of the park. He was able to time what we saw to help avoid the crowds at each location. As seniors with our adult children on a bucket list vacation with our family, Bjorn was able to relate to all of us and make the trip even more memorable. We had a terrific day with Gabe. It was ostensibly billed as a wildlife tour, but as Gabe realistically informed us at the outset, the wildlife may or may not cooperate. That said, we managed to watch a wolf pack, see eagles, otters, a hibernating bear (we were there in winter so only way to see bears), elk, of course buffalo, and many more of the lesser known species that would have otherwise escaped our attention. He had a great viewing scope and a sense of where to have the best chance to spot some of these. Most importantly, he had a fantastic range of knowledge of the park, from its history and establishment to its evolution to its present day state, including terrific details of so many of the species we saw--and didn't manage to see. And this was all delivered with an inspiring passion for the park and the wildlife that inhabited it. I had been to Yellowstone before and was of course impressed with its geothermal wonders, but have a whole new understanding and appreciation for the park thanks to our guide's knowledge and passion. I would highly recommend this tour company for anyone traveling to Yellowstone, as it takes an expert to expose its otherwise many hidden gems. read more

April was a great time to visit Yellowstone, as the creeks are swift with some snow melt, the wildlife are active. Temp high's are in the 50's/low's are high 30's. He picked the 5 of us up directly from our Airbnb rental, drove straight to Yellowstone and immediately started giving us info about Pray, Bozeman, the park, etc. One of my favorite things was that he would stop on the side of the road from time to time with his binoculars to spot animals that we couldn't see! Our tour through Yellowstone would not have been nearly as meaningful or enjoyable without having Gabe as our guide. We learned so much about the animals and the land - in a fun way. My son and I wanted to do some back country camping while in Yellowstone, but knew that with the size of the park and the abundant wildlife, that we needed a guide. Chris, the owner/operator, is knowledgable about the park and what it takes to keep you safe. We were way off the grid but felt safe the entire time. He is a stickler for the rules (as he should be to keep you safe and to protect the environment) but does it without being a tyrant. Quick with a corny joke to lighten the mood at all times. I also like the fact that this is HIS business, the buck stops with him. He's just a guy trying to take something he loves and turn it into income for his family (who are all very nice). We had originally needed to hire a guide to gain access into the North Entrance of Yellowstone because we were staying in that area. Hiring a guide was a big splurge for us but by the end of the day, we were extremely happy that we did. From the moment we met our guide, Pam, at pick-up, she was personable and easy to talk to. She listened to our wishes and created a day that matched perfectly. We love to hike and really enjoyed the hike she planned. She led us up the mountain at a pace that was good for us, stopping along the way to point out geographical points of interest, flora, and to remind us to hydrate. One of our favorite parts of the hike was stopping to pick tiny native strawberries which were delicious. Our daughter loved trailing behind her as she pointed out different wild flowers. We spent just enough time at the peak to relax, take in the vista, and have lunch which the guide service packed for us. The view was incredible. We had enough time to stop at Norris Geyser and make the loop around the northern part of Yellowstone to see some wildlife in an area that we would not have had access to. This checked off all our boxes. Pam's knowledge of Yellowstone was appreciated at every point along the trip. We highly recommend Yellowstone Guidelines. read more

We had Amy as our guide and she was absolutely awesome! So very, very knowledgeable and also hilarious, which makes for a wonderful combo. Wished we had another day with her. Will definitely use them next time around! Met at the West Yellowstone entrance at 7:30 am and saw all the thermal features, Old Faithful and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Stopped for lunch on the beautiful Madison River. We were back to our car at 3:30 pm- a full 8 hour trip- which was just long enough. I should have been curious after paying $500, sending out Emails for detailed information (pick up, hiking,) and never got an answer. Finally i called a week before the trip and got someone on the phone who gave me some vague information. The tour itself is done by a guide in their private car. We had a van at least. our tour guide was nice, she had coffee and snacks for the morning commute. We started off full of hope. The hours went by and what we did was driving around Lamar Valley in hope to find wildlife. We stopped where everybody else stopped (rule of the Yellowstone: see a lot of cars - stop too, they most usually spotted something). out tour guide fumbled around with the scope she brought but always needed someone to set it up for us correctly. At 11.30 we called it a day, we had enough. We spotted what we have seen the day before by ourselves, the wolves we saw and heard we could have seen ourselves too, just by driving around and stop where everybody else stops. $500 for a day in the car on the main roads is quite a lot. all the information we got could be found in any book about the Yellowstone. we were disappointed for what we got. And also the really good sandwiches we got for lunch doesn't cover for the $500. read more
